The LAST Riot Forge Game

So Riot Forge have sadly dropped their final game, Bandle Tale. With a catalogue of fantastic games so far, Bandle Tale had a lot to live up to. Did Riot Forge end with a bang, or with a whimper? I don't have anything to promote yet so why not subscribe whilst you're here :)
Is It Okay To CHEAT On A Game Sometimes?
Просмотров 2 тыс.10 месяцев назад
(I tried exporting & uploading this in higher quality but some of the footage bugged, so 1080p it is unfortunately... I'll try to improve this for next time!) Believe it or not, I suck at games sometimes. I know, I know, hard to believe but I do. Unfortunately, as an adult I no longer have enough hours in a day to commit to the hardest parts of a game, especially when its the last 5%. Does that...

A Casual's TRAGIC First Ever Hardcore Nuzlocke (RANDOMIZED)
Просмотров 60Год назад
So I decided to do my first ever hardcore nuzlocke, and because that wasn't hard enough, EVERYTHING WAS RANDOM. Things went wrong. Very, VERY wrong. Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules: 1) Only first encounters can be caught. 2) All Pokémon must be nicknamed. 3) My Pokémon can't be a higher level than the next gym leaders ace. 4) No using items mid-battle. 5) Battle style must be in set mode. I don't have ...

I recommend playing Until Then too. Its also released this year and also an indie game thats also deserved recognition.
Oh wow yeah that game looks beautiful, thanks a lot for the recommendation! Definitely shortlisting that on the to play list!!
Please do a video on worldless, i think it's a perfect game for you
Oh wow thank you so much for this recommendation, I'd never heard of this before but it looks AMAZING. I'll 100% be playing this at some point!!
Agreed, let's hope it wins a steam award
I hope so, it deserves all the recognition in the world 🙏
gatekeep gooseboss
It’s “gree” not “grease” just so you know.
The turtle looked more pink to me than red. But yeah, it can still represent love.
Ahhh yeah you're so right actually, pink makes even more sense for the whole theme of love too. Thanks for pointing that out!
True that I'm still on actions speaks louder then words BUT some people would denied it 😔
Like some of these games told a story with no actual words. And what game is gonna be an idea for another silent game 🤔
The premise parallels (or will soon) the effects of AI use in society.
And it's almost there 😲
“The art of silent games” “Sky” Also sky: “You M or F” Definitely deserves the exclusion 😭
This is why we can't have nice things 😭
I hope games like that don't get forgotten or who knows 😕
I loved journey, abzu, gris, limbo and INSIDE a lot but also cocoon, unravel and planet of lana. Finally there's endling extinction is forever which is quite a bit different from these other games but god damn does it hit hard... Also Neva gang rise up✊😤✊it's another wordless masterpiece from nomada studio. It has no dialogue at all, well apart from the word neva i guess but deserves a mention alongside these.
NEVA GANG HELL YEAH! I may or may not be in the middle of editing a Neva video as we speak... 👀
@@MiisterGeneric Well then it seems i must sub if all your essays are of this quality. I hope you focus on indie games such as these because i love them.
Visual communication is often underappreciated not just in entertainment and storytelling, but in professional studies as well. It's true that verbal communication is absolutely fascinating and our complex way of creating languages distinguish us from the rest of the animals (with the exception of marine mammals) but there's a reason why many consider visual language as the universal language. Silent films are versatile because anyone from any region around the world will be able to understand them without the need of translators. When a film or any other storytelling medium uses dialogue excessively, the audience feels it and it can deter them from enjoying it. This is the basis of "Show, Don't Tell" in its purest form.
Worded beautifully. 👏🥲
I always loved these games when I played them. I know it was hard to convince my friends to play games like abzu when all i could tell them is "you're a (cat?)diver in the ocean with nothing but whats in the water with you. The water's cool tho." Only to be followed by their sumnautica ptsd showing. 😂
The damage Subnautica has done to all underwater games... 😂
I think another reason that Little Nightmares is more child-like with it's charm is because the developers (Tarsier) worked on Little Big Planet Vita and 3, which I assume lead to Little Nightmares also having push and pull puzzles like in Little Big Planet.
They worked on Little Big Planet too???? That makes so much sense. Tarsier I wasn't familiar with your game. 😲
@@MiisterGeneric I mean if you look at some of the characters from LPB PS Vita they could fit right into Little Nightmares eg. Mrs. Sunshine and Marianne Noisette
Its like a painting you dont need text to know what’s happening
Couldn't have worded it any better myself. It's exactly this. 🥲
Honestly, if I’m gonna be dead ass, you should play little nightmares two. If you for the first game was excellent and you’re gonna love the sequel. It’s actually the prequel but still. I have realistically played INSIDE and little nightmares and I found them both enjoyable and I both love them and the best part is I like games that are silent because it just lets me think of the story and I get to make the characters smart or stupid if I wanted to. And I’ll be honest you should definitely little nightmares DLC. I think you’ve actually made a good video and I believe you should have more subscribers so dad keep doing this and I would say keep going.
Thanks for the kind words!! And I definitely plan on playing the other Little Nightmares games! I was so impressed by the first I just have to check out the rest!!
@@MiisterGeneric i’ll keep tabs when you make that video then. I would just dedicate entire video to little nightmares because I’ll be really interested your opinion on it because holy shit you will enjoy it. Can’t wait to see that video if it comes out.
I think you should play scorn
It seems like a really unique game so maybe one day I will!
So what did we learn from all these games? If you wanna create a successful and deep silent game, make the title be just one word XD _Ignore Little Nightmares_
Short and sweet, just like a lot of the games were 🙏
This gem just popped up on my home page and this video is simply genious. First i thought wow why is this so long? Worth every bit of my time. After watching it i thought why the heck don't you have like a million views? Funny narration with a calming voice. Keep it up!❤
oh wow that's so nice of you to say, thanks so much for the kind words!! 🥲❤
the fact that this video doesn't have hundreds thousands views is weird to me/gen, im used to youtube feeding me interesting vids with great editing, sound, ect, and this video just really checks all the marks that make me feel like this is a good video
It means a lot to hear that so thank you! A lot of time and effort went into this and it all feels worth it when I read such nice comments like this! 🥲
where's witcher 3
Bro might just have played on mute 😭
Okay but I highly recommend you finish Little Nightmares because it's such an intricate narrative purely based upon it's visuals alone. It also has comics that do explain a bit about the world you navigate through in Little Nightmares and how things work.
I definitely plan on finishing the Little Nightmares franchise at some point!! It has such a unique world that I'm really intrigued to learn more about!
I love most of the games you mentioned and idk why I never made the connection it was due to this. Wonderful video and AMAZING QUALITY <3
THANK YOU!!! 🥲 It took me way too long to make that connection too, the moment it hit me I just knew I had to make a video about it! I'm glad I've found my fellow silence enjoyers 🙏
I love watching people discover the intricacies of the science behind the art, brilliant video! 👍 I'd be really interested to hear how other subtle visual storytelling 'tricks' like space/volume, illusion, etc. impacted your experience too... you mentioned sound design (loved that, total audio nerd here!) and I could see loads of visual choices like camera angle, lighting, etc. that are also part of that 'silent' storytelling art. This was top of my recommended list so enjoy riding the algorithm wave, this video definitely deserves to! 👍 One bit of feedback (a little ironic given the topic!) which is to slow your voiceover down a smidge. It's a bit like public speaking... we all tend to speak faster when we're reading a script for the 100th time, forgetting that other people are hearing it for the first time & they don't have the benefit of the words on the page to fill in the bits they missed! You don't need to speak unnaturally slow, but there's a noticeable difference between the speed in the first 5-10mins versus how much more natural you're sounding towards the end. You have a compelling, insightful narrative which will keep people watching the whole time, so don't worry about adding a few more minutes to the end to ensure you can make your point. Subbed & looking forward to the next one! 👍
Wow thanks for taking the time out of your day to drop some advice, it genuinely means a lot that you cared enough to do that!! You're not wrong though haha, I'm a naturally fast speaker in person so I'm trying to get better at slowing it down for vids and spacing gaps between my sentences better. It's a learning process but I'm glad to hear it got better towards the end. I'll definitely take note of that when editing the next vid!! (Also thanks for subscribing, I'm glad you enjoyed the vid ♥)
@MiisterGeneric No problem! I know it can be difficult to get constructive feedback on high quality videos like this, so I like to help when I can... lots of people have opinions on RUclips, but not many people provide feedback! 💜 I just watched your video on cheating btw and the speaking & editing pace in that video is great, sounds very natural... so maybe you were subconsciously going faster at the start of this one because of the length of the video? At any rate, it's a really subtle difference so it's not a deal-breaker by any means... there aren't many channels that produce long-form video essays of this standard right out of the gate. 👍 It's just that I did this kind of improvement analysis & feedback professionally, so I can't help myself when I see a high quality video like this that just needs a small tweak to make it even better!
@@medea27 Thanks for checking my out my other video!! I'm glad to hear the pacing on that was all good! I think you're right and I was just in ultra fast mode at the start because its the first long video I edited haha. I was trying to figure out how fast or slow I should take it, but after your feedback I definitely have a better idea of that now. So really, thanks once again! It's rare to get such helpful constructive feedback at the very start of a channel. 🥲 (And thanks for your kind words on the video quality, it means a lot to hear that so early on while I'm still learning. ❤)
Whenever you become huge on this platform remember me yeah you deserve more recognition 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Wow thank you for the kind words, it means a lot! <3
Your talent is way more better than other people and you deserve one million subscribers 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
God I absolutely adore abzu.
Such an underrated gem! What a beautiful game. 🥲
this one was on my home page so u know its about to pop off
THE ALGORITHM GIVETH 🙏 (Thanks for clicking on and giving my video a chance!! <3)
not talking about sky is dumb its THE silent game
Unfortunately I hadn't played much when I first recorded vid 😔 There were a few great games I missed so I might do a part 2 in the future and talk about Sky in more detail!
When you can't afford voice actors:
When you blow all the VA budget on a goose (it was worth every penny 🔥)
Great video, keep up the good work man
Thanks a lot! <3
As someone who has played most of the games listed, I agree. Games don't need words to convey a message or tell a story. It's such a beautiful form of art.
Art it is indeed. Gaming can be so beautiful when it wants to be 🥲
If i remember correctly, in Abzu the character you play as is actually one of the "evil" robots. I think it really adds to the story.
Oh wow that's actually so cool! I didn't know that but it makes so much sense. What an awesome addition to the story that is, thanks for sharing that with me! 😄
Even listening to Gris soundtracks make me tear up, this game means so much to me. Thanks for talking about it <3
One of the best games ever made! I teared up so many times even just editing it. I'm glad to have shared more love for a game that means so much to you, it deserves all the love in the world! 🙏🥲
whenever you become huge on this platform remember me yeah? you deserve to get much more recognition
Wow thank you so much! I'll always remember you Damean4353 🥲
Agreed
Ori and the blind forest?
Love that game! I really wanted to add a section about it to the vid but wasn't able to sadly 😔 One of the best silent games out there for sure though! That opening cutscene had me on the verge of tears.
Pretty awesome video, I love to play games for their storytelling
Thank you! Storytelling games truly are the heart of what makes gaming so special! 🙏
Just out of curiosity, why did you make this video?
Because I love indie games!! I just so happened to notice a lot of them didn't use dialogue and thought that was pretty cool! :)
After watching this video I have to come clean. I did cheat in a hat in time (deathwish). I play on switch so I don't have access to any "genuine" cheats but I didn't really need it until 2 of the last contracts in the game. "Seal the deal" and the mustache girl ex fight respectively. I enabled the assist mode to give myself 8 health and disable it before I finished both contracts. While I can try and make an argument that I used the tools of the game to win, I still don't feel like I earned it either. Also yes the switch "can" run the game it just has some slight trouble at times. Still, I didn't want to mention it to anybody, but this video made it easy to confess. Ok maybe I rambled a bit too much :p
Read the captain's storybook you will know why he is fat as f**k
Death Wish is my favorite part of a hat in time. The ex boss fights are some of the best bosses I've ever played 🎉
Gotta give the devs some credit, those bosses are most definitely a good challenge 😅
Completing every deathwish stamp for the first time is a long grind, even if you are experienced with the game, so I get using some mods here and there, a lot of people do. Hope you still enjoyed the rest of it
Honestly the best mindset to have! As hard as it was, they definitely still cooked with Death Wish. It was a lot of fun!
I am surprised you didn't mention any EX battles, which to me were the most difficult. Incredibly, the 'death wish' 'Cruisin' for a Bruisin' becomes fun after learning all the shortcuts on the ship, searching for the optimal paths, and honestly, it wasn't a difficult death wish, just overwhelming at first. I'm sure the devs could disable achievements if you play with mods, so I suppose it's legal, but I recommend trying to complete them without mods. In the end, the death wishes were added because people complained that the game was too easy, so they added something very difficult.
I cheated only in 2 situation: Wind-up mill and every bosses (bcs on laptop its was sooooooo laggy)
Wow you're a trooper for trying out Death Wish on a laptop, that couldn't have been easy 🫡
Personally I only use them if I know I can’t do/have the time to do the achievement. I also use them if I can’t literally get the achievement normally. For instance, I had to cheat for the multiplayer achievements for Doom 2016 because the multiplayer was dead on steam
That's very fair. Multiplayer only achievements have always and will always suck.
1:41 Glad to see im not the only one that had a *bad experience* with that level specifically
It's been months and I still lose sleep at night thinking back to the trauma it caused. I hate that level. 😭
You think this is hard? Try doing this on the console versions which doesn’t have the community mods…. You have no way to cheat…. Good luck
i like, used peace and tranquility for all death wish, im so casual in this game, and i wanted to 100% it
No shame in that! It's your experience, do whatever you need to make it as fun as possible for you! :)
Its free on mobile but not on console and it was an amazing game for me, the ending was interesting and its called : cats are liquid (idk wich one i think alits) its the one were you dont start with 3 other cats
I've never heard of that game before so maybe I'll have to check it out! Anything with cats in I'm instantly sold on 🙏
Recently I did whole death wish legit, beacuse I hate myself, but still watned to try it, and to be honest after nerfs it waaaaaaay easier than when it was first realesed. When it was released I used mods as well beacuse it was straight up bs, but this time I powered through it in a week. Good video though, and I still agree some of this chalanges are stupidly hard for no reason
Oh god yeah I remember hearing about how hard it was when it first dropped and I didn't even wanna bother trying. I'm sure if I played it then I'd probably be grateful for how much easier it is now than it was back then haha! But damn doing it all mod-less in just one week is a damn good grind, I can only respect it 🫡 (and thank you!!)
Ngl this guy is so underrated
Thanks for the kind words, that feels amazing to read 🥲
Seems fun, might try it. Great video btw
Trust me, it'll be 60 mins well spent!! (And thank you 😄)
