how come i can't get an appointment to come in to the assessors office ? i went online to try to make an appointment ,it showed there no appointments for the next two years . i tried calling the assessors office and i was on hold for fifty minutes then cut off. until this year i would always come in to the office with my evidence to apply for my senior freeze this year i went to the senior center to file . it wasn't filed correctly . now i have to try to get it online since i can't get an appointment.

Hi Hector/Team Thank you for the video , I have a question please, So I applied for a mortgage back on 2021 and I bought a condo on March of that year and I didn’t apply for the homeowner exemption because I didn’t know it existed , So I started to pay the mortgage around $400 every month during 2021-2022-2023 until 9 days ago I received a letter from the mortgage bank saying the monthly payment will go up to a $1050 every month and I have a deficit in the escrow by negative - $4500 , I saw the breakdown of the monthly payments and I saw the property tax is very high , so the question is what to do to solve this problem ? I want to take the property tax down ? Also can I apply asking for a credit back for the years 2022-2023 ?

Hi, im wondering if christina lynch will be publically apologising for wasting police resources and bringing Cook County's reputation into disrepute. The recent video of the auditor where she spoke and acted condecemdingky is absolutely shocking. I truly hope she doesn't have a habit of speaking to the public in this fashion on a regular basis. It's also shocking that the head of legal for the county has less knowledge of constitutional law than the British man who is creating comment and has never visited America, but confiendent enough to speak disgustingly to members of the public and create unconstitutional policies regarding to recording in the public areas. Apparently, by her own words, she and her team did the work and legal analysis to enact this unconstitutional policy that gave her the bravity to speak to a member of the public so condescendingly. I hope she has the confidence to release that work, so everyone who is interested will have the opportunity to see the calibre of the work performed at her office. It's surprising that she also works as Cook County's ethic officer. We shan't go into the FOIA failures the video showed. How will Cook County's management be handling/ have handled this situation to ensure the no further egregious actions performed like this? Remember, failure starts at the top, and the head of legal for the county has already shown her calibre.

My parents apply for the senior freeze annually but they are concern that in the event they were to sell their home whether they may be impacted in some way where they would have to be responsible for some type of backpay. Can you please clarify. Thank you

There is a video from an auditor called Audit Them that shows his interaction with the Cook County Assessor's Office. The interaction shows that the staff was condescending and unaware of the right for the public to film in public spaces. What makes this even more upsetting is that the head of Legal was the one stating that filming inside the public space was incorrect. She called the Sheriff who luckily knew the law and did not make the auditor stop. What are you going to do to address the attitude problem of your staff and the lack of legal understanding of the public to film. Since this is a public forum sponsored by Cook County, you can not legally take this comment down. I have not been disrespectful or used obscene language in this post.

Hi Accessor, I’m so confused on how to go about this. Ok, me and my husband are on the property tax bill. The payment is taken out of our mortgage. He was born in 45. So we never got the senior exemption. We never knew of it. Well he passed away in July of 21 an I went through the disability process an after two years was determined to be disabled from the month of his death. So the confusing part is with the certificate of error process and what documentations and when to go back to. When to add mine. The tax years that say 2nd installment paid in a different year has always confused me. This whole process makes me feel so dumb and I wanna cry.

I sent in the form that the assessor sent me as I didn't have to send in documentation like the one that is online. It kept saying that I signed as attorney. I checked three times and my form didn't show that. Also, I have been getting the freeze for years now so I checked no to the programs that I am in and filled out the income information. Pluse It was a lot easier. Very confusing online. Didn't say if you were on programs you had to file that way. Please redo your information on that. Plus in the year 2021 with covid you filed almost everything online and people may not of saved their applications. And of you did keep them, some are very long.
