I was never into a ton of rock music growing up. My cousin liked Van Halen and Bon Jovi, so I heard them both pretty often, but that was it. My own interests were mainly in the pop, country, and contemporary Christian genres, so I listened to the likes of Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, Amy Grant, and Michael W. Smith. But I was raised from the age of 3 in an extremely fear-minded and legalistic home, so by the time I was 15 I became very disillusioned with the church. I kept going anyway for a couple of years, mainly to please my Mom, but my heart just wasn't in it anymore. Part of me still loved Jesus, but another part was rapidly growing, full of darkness, bitterness, and hate. I resented God for all the things I had suffered to that point, like being told many times I was going to hell, constantly being beaten up at school, becoming addicted to porn and feeling both trapped but also justified in it - my entire life had become a waking nightmare. I then made a lot of selfish and very stupid personal mistakes in my 20s, which caused me and other people a great deal of pain. It wasn't until 2008 that a friend from college convinced me to attend church with him, and within a year or two I felt God was changing me for the better. My mom passed from lung cancer in 2015, so emotionally that set me back for a long time, but I have a cousin from my Dad's family who has spent the past six years helping me like crazy. I first started listening to Skillet in 2010, not really knowing much about them at all. But I quickly became a loyal fan, and I've since collected all their albums on CD. Glory to God for all of them, truly.

Jen's music with her band LEDGER is the reason I am still alive today. It helped me realize killing myself was not how to deal with the issues I have and that i should fight until I am no longer breathing. Through her I have also reconnected to my faith. Seeing her life and her story made me realize straying from God was a major reason i felt my life had gotten how it was. But even while I strayed God was there with me. There where a few times I probably should have died but didn't.

Adding Jen Ledger to Skillet was a very wise decision; she makes an already great band better still.

This is scary stuff. Never at any time does she talk about repenting of her sin and asking the Lord to save her. She just talks about some experience she had where she felt something...That’s not salvation. Not according to the Word of God. Romans 10:9, 10 KJV [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

I became a Skillet fan when the Awake Album came out. Jen was a major factor in that. Her voice to me is like an angel and her beauty is breathtaking. I'm so glad she has her own thing going on. Much love and prayers for you Jen.

I found it interesting to note that another brilliant drummer: Hannah Welton Ford is almost the same age as Jen and is also a strong Christian believer. Nothing that really matters to me, for me, back in my time it was the same to listen to Slayer or Stryper.

One of the things that Rock Music ORIGINALLY stood for is rebellion! One of the things I like about Christian Rock is that it can be used to...NOT rebel against God, but rather rebel AGAINST SATAN! ALL HAIL JESUS, AMEN! 🙏

Her testimony of traditional church is very subjective. Many Calvary Chapel Baptist Non-Denoms live the same way. Get tired of people dogging Catholics and Tradition. They have the Holy Bible and Jesus Christ because of Tradition. Paul the Apostle of Christ said Hold Fast to the Traditions that would be handed down from Christ to the Apostles to us. Bleh.

I'm glad she hates all the dishonesty in the church. I do too! However, her testimony merely describes an initial _call_ from God. True salvation is from SIN, and true salvation is when a sinner REPENTS of sin, comes to Jesus for help, obeys Him, gets baptized, and is made a NEW CREATION, set free from sinful ways! When u said that the youth leader said that Satan wasn't real I was like wtf bc I used to be a Satanist (I'm a Christian now) n I've seen pretty crazy things n been thru crazy things bc of it so he is defently real.
