Whilst there are quite a few of those types of videos out there perhaps not too many for the MT as it only came since the '23 model year. That's good and congratulations on the purchase! I guess things might have changed over 18 months because back then you couldn't order a GR86 at Toyota, you couldn't even actually order one at a GR Garage! They had stopped taking orders because they had such a backlog of orders that they weren't able to fill. I think the semiconductor shortage was still hanging around and didn't help at that time too though.

That's a very good point! I've got the MT and totally forgot the AT isn't a dual clutch 7 speed which makes this point in their article all the more interesting. Feels like quite a substantial change considering elsewhere they aren't tackling too many big engineering challenges for parts they're looking to swap out.

7spd is a downgrade. The ZF is quick and much smoother

I talked to a engineer before and i already knew about that swan spoiler and carbon bits and brakes for awhile, reddit also confirmed it for me recently when the 2024 and 2025 BMW-Z4 got leaked, its just upgrades to what it already has and a power bump to like 425hp-475hp (more then likely higher HP on dyno). Quality of life stuff you can expect would be like a trunk button to open, new horn, Toyota interior Chime, new interior two-tone color, new exterior paint, updated Toyota/BMW idrive (supporting Android finally) and new Recaro seats.

Agreed! The sales for the A90, marketing strategies, and allocation distributions have shown foreign markets like the US to be strong. Other special editions, like the launch edition I believe was only sold in the US, and the 500 A91's were sold globally, the 45th I think is global but I only seem to hear about people snapping them up in the US.

The special editions that the US definitely aren't global. But in markets with no special editions they often just make things like the matte white or Cu Later paint a regular option that you can tick.

I'm more glad the prices are coming down a little (actually more than a little that's a substantial decrease), it makes that dream collection attainment more realistic and also, hopefully parts would be cheaper too. Personally if I had bought in 2004, and still had 20 years later, I couldn't imagine selling for retirement, no sir, you can bury me in it haha

in 30 years EVs will have taken over. no one is gonna want a sub 1k horsepower car. you should sell at the peak here in maybe the next 5 - 10 years

That's really good to hear. I don't have such visibility and learning that makes it interesting what the comparison is like between all countries. I also wonder what the availability is like, if the prices reflect a similar supply and demand 🤔

That doesn't sound too bad considering the population, although perhaps a little tricky in terms of viewing and transporting considering Aus's massive size. By pick of the bunch, do you mean there's more RZ-S's than the others or that they're the most sought after? I would have thought the RZ's would be most popular.

That's really interesting I never caught people speaking unfavourably in 2010s but I could imagine in some circles or regions that could have been the case as they started to not be new, or novel, or dare I say could have been perceived as dated (it's very hard for me to imagine for this car haha, but I guess possible). And the prices and valuation trends are always fascinating, sometimes you wonder if it could be a bit of a bubble but the way EVs are being pushed, regulations around emissions, and manufacturers making less cars like these, it's possible the only way is up.

There are ways you can export out of certain countries including Japan however you need to be really careful who you deal with and with the condition of what you are buying. As for importing into India, unfortunately I am not sure of the rules and regulations for that side of the process.

Yep after a couple of decades and several 10s of thousands of miles the wear and tear is reflected in the prices I think. I'm constantly hypothetically estimating what level of condition I would balance against a fair price for such to start a new A80 project.

@SupraTokyoJohn having replaced more on my supra than alot with new oem to build what is as close to new as possible, these days you're half dealing with discontinued parts and you want to go through the level of replacement I spent near on 20k aud in 2015 so these days at least 30k for the equivalent oem parts probably more.

It's a lot of money, but kind of what I would expect. Aiming for as new as possible sounds like an almost endless pursuit for perfection. I'm not sure yet what my goals for mine would be but regardless it would be a hobby type project with expectations for a decent amount of money to be "invested".

@SupraTokyoJohn yep it's an endless journey as when a new part is next to an old it's like well best buy that too, problem is where can you even take them these days. They have lost they carefree appeal, it's insured appropriately but worst case the odds of finding another late 98 onwards unmolested RZ the numbers weren't there when they were new (379 total rz built after mine) and they certainly aren't better 25 years on

Totally agree. I see a lot of R34's, I also see more NSX's, and probably FDs than A80s these days but happy when I see any of the above. It'll never get old 🙂

That's amazing, it's such a great place, fantastic you could enjoy this historic, timeless, freak of engineering masterpiece and track its roots like that. I think each one has a unique story and I want to find out and try to share some if I can.

Thank you, it is amazing what the AI effects can do however it still took me much longer to make than I thought it would. Planning, taking the shots, processing, stitching AI shots together 2-3 seconds or less at a time and lining everything up. Still, it's great fun!

It's quite tricky to tell from what I've seen online. I would love to go to the Vegas event one day but I think you might be right. It was my first time at this annual event and there was a GR track day at Fuji 2 days before, so I thought the turn out might not be so great but then because of the parade run I think it might have levelled out. I was blown away anyway haha

Thanks, it's Seibon Carbon's MB-Style Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler. I really love it and talk/show a bit more on what I did with it in my second video. It's also worth noting I've seen some Chinese companies do similar ones at a fraction of this price however the shape is usually thinner and they don't look as sturdy. Not for me personally and you might need to be careful if you're looking for exactly the same one as mine.

Owned, yet to own an American car (though I certainly wouldn't mind), I've mostly owned European cars and a few Japanese cars but honestly not all that many. This Supra is definitely my favourite and Supra's are what I intended to base the channel on. Is there another car(s) you're interested in?

I see you have/had the F80! Friend of mine had the 2003 CSL, an incredible machine and the way he drove it, it was fun to ride along with him but being a bit older now it would probably scare the hell out of me now.
