This is a bit about me and how I view things as an independent biker. Videos maybe be anything from a discussion on how I view the life style, motorcycle repair/projects to trip videos.

Natchez Trace Parkway Easy relaxing ride to clear the head.
Просмотров 2313 года назад
If you have to go north and you are close to the parkway I recommend the ride for sure. We did 300 miles of the 450. We got on the parkway in Natchez MS and rode a little north of Tupelo.

Yep, my friend. It works every time. I'm bad about getting my boot on the exhaust pipe. Thank for sharing that with us
Did you do the forks as well or just the rear end. I can not wait to get rid of those air shocks.
@@123JumpingJacks I did. I used the progressive rate springs and lowered it one inch. They did well but I would probably do the mono tube cartridges if I did it again.
@@RustyTheBiker is the mono tube cartridge also a super shock product?
@@123JumpingJacks from my understanding he has not made them yet. There are many companies that make them. I will tell you when you get aftermarket shocks on the rear don't be afraid to stiffen them up. You think it makes the ride worse but many times it makes it so much better. I did not realize how often my shocks were bottoming out. I now have a 24 road glide and can't wait to swap the rear shocks. Super Shox was great. I sent my old shock back to them and they reworked/rebuilt them for the new bike rather than trying to resale me another set of shocks. Stand up company. Saved me a ton of money.
@@RustyTheBiker thanks
Lots of 6s
That's a lot of sixes😅
😎👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing your great tips it’s helpful 👍❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the tip.
Where were you at VAMM to do this on our bikes man ???
@@PSPTommyG 🤣🤣 I didn't even wash my bike.
@@RustyTheBiker
Great tip!
Thanks for the tip Dale
Been doing that for years and it is the best way to clean chrome 😎👍
👍👍
😎👍
Great shoxs. I had them on my 2020 streetglide and they were awesome. I now have the new 2023 and a half cvo streetglide and I put them on it from my 2020 I traded in. Again what a difference. Like u said Brian was terrific. 👍👍
@@GeorgianBayRider glad you had a great experience as well!
What version were you running on the 2020?
My supershoxs are great, like riding on air :)
Yeah I have been impressed as well. I think I have about 20,000 miles on them now and still holding up.
@@RustyTheBiker My brother was so impressed he ordered a set for his ultra as well - LOL
@@MR_P03 that's great glad others are having the same experience! I always worry about endorsing products but this one has been a good one. I was not paid and paid full price for my shocks. I just did these videos because they are not mainstream and in my opinion should be highlighted more. Everyone knows legend and ohlin but I recognized these from dirt track racing and was like I have to give them a shot.
What the hell are you blathering about You keep going one way and then the other and then back and then the other way You don't know what you're talking about or you don't care you don't have an opinion what the hell are you blathering about
Good to hear. I'm waiting on mine to be built and delivered. The stock shocks on my 2016 Road Glide Ultra are killing my back on dips and bridge aprons. Brian recommended the 14" Premium with their mount extension. More travel and drops the bike 1/2".
Once you get them on don't be scared to stiffen them up. on my bike I noticed when my wife would get on it didn't ride as well so I cranked them up and the ride improved a lot. You would think making them stiffer would make the ride worse but it is more about finding that sweet spot so make sure to play with your adjustments.
How do you like the super shox since u got them? I got a 2014 Ultra Limited I’m looking to put these on it
@@bryanwalker3110 man I have been pleased with mine. I have somewhere around 20,000+ miles on mine. I think I put them on at like 38k and currently at 63k. Don't be scared to play with the adjustments. I ended up stiffing mine up after the video by recommendation of Brian and each adjustment they got better. I never realized my old shocks were too soft and bottomed out so much.
What shocks did you use to get 1.5” lower ? They recommended the premium SL shocks for my 22 road glide and that would only lower it 1/2” compared to stock. Would love to get closer to 1” or more
They use a long travel shock and a lowering kit. Which will net 1.5". Brian should be a lot of help if you talk to him. Resin they do a lowering kit vs doing it in the shock so you don't lose travel and ride quality.
@@RustyTheBiker they emailed me. With the 13” shock and lowering block the net height is 1/2” lower than stock. I can’t do the lower version because they don’t work with 18” rear wheels
Got ya. Yeah I have 16" rear wheel as my bike is a 2016.
Looks like fun man!!💯👏💪
It was a good time for sure!
These shocks ain’t worth a dam
I just changed my hydraulic tensioner shoes with Cyco Gasket's shoes for $12 for a pair. My 96" A Twin Cam has 116,000 miles & they would of lasted maybe another 6k miles, but i was changing a rear rocker box gasket & decided to take off the cam cover. Anyhow I ended up doing both front & rear rocker box gaskets & new lifters. Everything looked real good. Peace!
Awesome! Yeah if you got the rocker boxes apart you might as well. I know it's not cheap but it is cheap insurance.
What generation of engine are the tensioners you are showing?
It is a 2016 Road Glide ultra with a twin cam 103.
Did you do a video on how they work?
I did and I have been very pleased with them. I put these on at 39,000 mile and my bike is about to roll over 60,000 miles so I have a little over 20,000 mile on them.
I Have A 2007 Road King With 49,300 Miles, And I'm Getting Ready To Open Up The Cam Chest To Replace The Tensioners And Inner Cam Bearings, Should I Replace My Lifters At This Point Also? I'm Going With The S&S Tensioners And If You Reccomend I Replace The Lifters Which Brand Do You Reccomend, I'm Not Going To Open Up The Top End So I'm Going With The S&S Quickee Adjustable Push Rods And Chrome Covers Also I'm Using The Stock Cams Or Should I Replace Those Also? I'm Doing This For Peace Of Mind On The Tensioners Going Bad, Thank You For Your Imput..
I would replace the lifters as well. They take a lot of abuse. I went with S&S lifters. As for cams really it is a preference for performance. With cams will come tuning as well. Key wear items in the cam chest are bearings, lifters and tensioners. Inspect your oil pump for scoring while it is out.
My bike is now a little over 58,000 miles so I am figuring on being in the cam chest again at 80,000 miles which will probably be in 2 years at this rate.
Ok Thanks Rusty I'll Take A Look At The Oil Pump For Scoring, If It Needs Replacing Should I Go With The Same Harley Pump The Bike Came With Or Is There A Better After Market Pump I Can Buy?
@@fidelrodriguez6568 if you upgrade cam plate then I would go with the matching pump. If not use the Harley pump. Screaming Eagle maybe an option you could look into for the stock plate? But not sure.
@RustyTheBiker Awesome Thanks Rusty, What Year And Model Is Your Bike By The Way?
Great shock!!! I run them on my 17 Ultra Limited.
Love my Super Shox, Great ride and customer service!!
Seems like a nice ride, heard about it a few times. I just came across your channel in my feed actually. I'm happy to support your efforts and those of other fellow moto content creators. I look forward to seeing and hearing more from you in the future ; keep up the great work and ride safe out there.
It is a great calm easy ride. Not the most exciting but worth doing. You just sit back and chill between stops.

Wobble in a curve try a true track its awesome and check your upper engine stablizer
@Rusty The Biker Regarding the "Relocation Kit" offered by Super Shox: Is it actually a lowering kit? If so, and in your example, do you know how much it would lower the bike with stock shocks? You being a "shorter rider", have you tried a two-inch(or more) lowering block with the SuperShox?
Yeah this set up lowers the rear 1.5" in the rear. Nice part about it is it allows for more spring travel. I also lowered the front 1" (a long time ago) so that is 1" front 1.5" rear.
I have the fueling hydraulic shoes on mine , tore mine down couple days ago , lifter collapse at idle I hope , sounds like a rod knock , the inside fueling tensioner - the shoe was worn deep and the piston had pushed threw the plastic and was grinding on the cam chain , the outside shoe was hardly worn at all , under 15,000 miles on the shoes . These fueling tensioners came with the pistons in them , why one worked correctly and the other did not , I dont know , the oil pressure in the cam plate is the pressure on both shoes and both shoes were running on harley cam chains . go figure ...........
I have about the same miles on mine. May have to go in for an inspection. If I do I will replace them again. Cheap insurance.
Thanks
hey neighbor. with the gravel portion getting paved it made brushy mtn rd a real delight to ride. rode it a couple of weeks ago and got on the tail end of a sport bike run. if you’ve not rode paris mtn rd in a while, it got a new asphalt makeover - a fun little ride. let the good times roll...
I will have to check out Paris Mtn rd. Not sure if I have been on it before. I moved out here in the mid 90's so there is a chance I have rode it before. Haha..
I wish I had came to mini VAMM. Maybe next time.
It was a great time...

Yep Crossroads area.
Ahhh the things I miss out on because I live on the west coast lol 😂. A lot of my friends on RUclips go to VAMM. That’s a nice bike! I see you’re very mechanically inclined 👊💯
Oh yeah VAMM is a great time for sure! Yeah I really love to tinker.
Hi Rusty, I was really fortunate to meet you. 👀ing to see you again. Doyle said that your wife isn’t feeling well. Hope she gets better soon. 💕NonnaGrace
Thank you Nonna. She had surgery 5 weeks ago. All is going fairly well though and I look forward to seeing you again as well ..
Very impressed with the 412 Series Progressive rear coil overs we installed on 2021 RGS #performancebaggin build!!
I have a 01 glide I believe 13in stock, I wondering if I could go with the 412?? Or won't they mount up??
Man so sorry for the long delay for some reason YT had not showed me your reply but if you haven't bought them yes you can get them for an 01 touring model.
I bought a pair of super shoxs years ago for my 98FLHTCI and ran them for 4 or 5 years and loved the shocks. Traded that bike in November 2020 didn’t want to loose the shocks so I had the dealership install them on my new bike. After checking with super shoxs to assure proper filament for my 2020 FLHX. After 1or 2 thousand miles the shocks didn’t feel right. Being fortunate enough to live nearby super shoxs I went and spoke with the owner and told him my concerns. And much to my surprise completely replaced my old shocks with brand new ones! Labor and all. Tell me that isn’t good customer service?
Yes sir could agree more! Great company for sure.
How are you liking these a year later?
Still doing well can't complain. I have packed on a little extra weight on the bike. To much crap in my bags so I could stand to stiffen them up a tad but that is about it...
2 yrs out now are you still happy with the super shox? I got a 2014 Ultra Limited that I’m bout ready to upgrade the shocks
Good deal 👌 👍
We drove the entire Natchez Trace Parkway last Spring in my Chevy SSR....the weather was perfect! That road is a jewel, with it's slow speeds and beautiful forested roads!
Nice we dipped off just north of Tupelo but I figure we will go back at some point to do the Tupelo to Nashville part.Left us a bit to go back too.
I am working on VAMM22 Woot woot!!! Gonna be great to meet you all!!
That would be awesome for sure! I still need to put in for vacation time haha!
Looks like an awesome ride to escape on and let it all go!!! Love the angles!!!
It was so calm and relaxing. Just sit back and take an easy ride through the country.
Playing catch up today!! So far behind! I love summer when school is out I get to play!! Wow so cool to do this, I have a few jackets that are waterproof but I need to treat my leather now! Thanks for this great tip!!!
