Most of our thoughts on culture and feminism come directly from western sources. Feminustani, by journalist Sabahat Zakariya, is an attempt at a local Pakistani lens on things, at the same time taking conversations on Pakistani popular culture from the realm of PR to Criticism.

Can An Atheist Benefit From Religion?
Alain De Botton's book, Religion For Atheists, is branded as a 'Guide to the usefulness of religion for non-believers'. Like all his books, it's written with an almost poetic flair, and if the subject interests you, I would recommend it just for the beauty of the prose.
This review gives you quite a few details but without many of the examples from religions that Botton brings to his argument. Interestingly, all of these examples come from Christianity, Judaism, and occasionally Budhism, not a single one from Islam or Hinduism.

1965 - When Pakistan's Liberals Went Right Wing

War can have strange effects on people. As this archival dive into now obscure and forgotten songs proves, it can even shake the most committed of radicals. Jaun Eliya, Inayat Husain Bhatti, even Habib Jalib were swayed by the atmosphere generated by the Indo-Pak war of 1965. What this video does most is prove through solid evidence that the ideas we unthinkingly ascribe to just one man (Genera...

I'm having argument with someone and here for quick revision. 😂
You are saying even after knowing the reality we should follow some religion culturally. It might be good.
Keep it up ma'am. A very candid yet insightful analysis. And yes you're definitrly right: reading Bottom is as devouring poetry; one may not agree with his argument but would agree with how he has substantiated his case.
Interesting and super informative talk appreciated
Very good analysis
Your points are very logical appreciated
Excellent review. Please review books on Islamic Feminism too.
I think world is moving on from this narcissistic mindset and emptiness. It has given us nothing but wars over resources and hunger. Following the path of Creator is the only solution. You are not important in the universe I’m sorry. You are nothing! When you consider yourself important (with yolo mindset) you please yourself even at the expense of other’s suffering. Cuz hey, there is no hell to punish you. Great example of that is Isreal with 60% atheist population surprisingly. The most racist the most blood thirsty state in the world.
Aapke videos ka intezaar rahta hai, kindly videos frequently banaya kare. ❣️
why are you the only person on the internet discussing this confusion so articulately!!!
thank you! so helpful. 'keeping your attention span local' you are probably the only person who said it in the entire discourse about palestine WHILE continuing to be empathetic towards Palestine. Both are extremely important.
interestingly, after becoming an atheist, I felt a lot more humble. for once, i am able to look at mortality in the eye because I am not scared of hell fire. i feel personally responsible for destroying nature, because i don't feel k dunya faani hai/test ki jagah hai/end of times ki sign from God etc. I can wear second hand clothes because 'halal paisay ko enjoy karna jaaiz hai' wali philosophy laikar nahi chal rahi, i am a better wife because i am not obsessed with husband duties in Islam and 'his money is my money' wali soch. I feel like I can be an adult ready to see myself as a morally grey and forever work in progress, unlike the absolutism that Islam offered...
omg how unique are your videos. probably the only person/vlog that helps me make sense in this particular way. this is the kind of things I keep thinking all the time but no one to discuss these with.. thank you!
Awesome video, and I would say, that this channel is very under-rated.

Sorry Madam aap ki kisi bhi baat main koi khas wazan nahin hay ye sub batain aik illusion ko zinda rakhnay kay liay buhut achee husakti hain magar haqeeqat say door hain.
Facing imminent death or poor health, atheists become believers ! Founder of Game Theory John von Neumann, when dying of cancer in the hospital, sought the ministrations of a Catholic priest.
Nietzsche's philosophy is a much better alternative to religion. And it's much more empathetic contrary to the popular ill informed belief regarding his philosophy.
You counted so many good things religion brings but you didn’t count the bad things ! You should look at the most religious counties ie Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan, KSA, India etc and compare them with the most secular countries like China, Japan, Sweden, UK, Norway etc.
Mere khayal se mazahib ko historically tor pr dekhna, un ke urooj o zawaal ko smghna aur un ki sari achai buraion ko achi trha smghne se hi hum mazahib se age brh ske ge. New atheist trha ke ideas zabani tuo sahi lgte hein pr un ke logo pr munfi asrat hi zada hote aur isi lie wo rw ke sath ja milte hein. Atheism or atheist hone me new atheism ki koi gunjaish nahi. Kisi ke apne deeply personal spiritual beliefs pr hamla krna aur un ko kmtr dikhane ki koshish krne ka koi faida nahi he ulta nuqsan he
3:15 religious dunya mei bhi yehi poocha jata hai ke "aap karte kya hain?" aur bilkul secular dunya ki tarah ussi basis par treat kiya jaata hai. do you seriously think religion cures societies of class divide?

One young woman's cover of a wonderful song, in which she is seeking the right kind of man ruclips.net/video/DGMflSHRxFY/видео.html She found him, and she replies to him with another cover: ruclips.net/video/LoIE8RDPKqk/видео.html This man: 1. The general, 'masculine' cosmos and the special, 'feminine' Earth (Gen 1:1); 2. The Earth, as its own general subject, and its special kind of material wealth: its abiding maximal abundance of open liquid water (v. 2); 3. That water, in general, and its cycling (the water cycle, vs. 3-10); 4. The water cycle, in general, and its beneficiaries: biological life (vs. 11-12); 5. Biological life, in general, and its special category, animal biology (vs. 20-25); 6. Animals, in general, and its special category, humans (vs. 26-29); 7. The general human and the special...woman (Genesis 2:7-25). This pairing sequence is itself paired with the fact there are ONLY FIVE names that Genesis 1 reports that God gives to five things. And, these things seem to be the Earth's own prime three dynamic, feminine subsystems of its water cycle: 1. the thermally regulative day/night cycle ('day' and 'night', v. 5); 2. the thermally regulative atmosphere (special, home-centric sky, 'shamayim', as in Gen 1:8 and Gen 2:4b - NOT 'ha-shamayim', phenomenologically general sky, as in Gen 1:1 and Gen 2:4a); 3. the land/sea surface thermal exchange system ('earth' and 'seas', v. 10). If these three sets of things are what these verses are reporting, then it finds analogy in Adam's later naming Woman (Genesis 2:23). ((( I think she, likewise, names him ))). For, these things are the Earth's own basic, feminine subsystems for handling the Sun's radiation for benefit of life on Earth. This is why Genesis 1 says that God saw that the light (v. 3) was good. For the 'light' is in the prior context of the Earth and its wealth of water. It is not (repeat, not) physical light unto itself that God called good. It is the relation which the light has for the potential for water-based life on Earth. For, tellingly, the Genesis 1 account does not report that God names gravity, or light unto itself, or even water. Only of day-and-night, as such, and the atmosphere, and of land and sea. These are: (i) of continual regular rotation of the Earth, which moderates that 'directional' radiation for all parts of the Earth (Gen 1:4-5); (ii) the Earth's atmosphere, which further moderates that radiation to the surface (Gen 1:6-8); (iii) the continual thermal exchange of land and sea, which constitutes the thermal moderating system of Earth's thermally binary surface (Gen 1: 9-10). - - - Imagine we had no experience of any world like the ecological Earth. Imagine we did not know what is a dew-touched field of grass in the morning. Or 'night', 'daytime', or 'morning'. No sunsets. No plants or animals. No 'starry nights' as seen from the grass of such a world. Instead, all we knew were things such as 'hot balls of fire' seen from inside a Star Trek-like star ship. No misty mornings seeing rays of the Sun shining between the trees. We could, of course, have all the 'synthesized' food we could want. But that would be only by way of the toil and expertise of maintaining such 'glorious' technology. We also would not have free air, free gravity, or free atmospheric pressure. Nor could we say, 'My darling, your eyes sparkle like dew in the morning'. And there would be no romance in likening our lover to a moon. We also could not let any of the ship's systems of life support go untended, lest we die, or, at least, deeply suffer until we got it working well again. We would have all the 'synthesized' food we could want. But only by way of the toil and expertise of maintaining such 'glorious' technology. And, we would not have free air, free gravity, or free atmospheric pressure either. We also could not say, 'My darling, your eyes sparkle like dew in the morning'. And there would be no romance in likening our lover to a moon and night. We also could not let any of the ship's systems of life support go untended, lest we die, or, at least, deeply suffer until we got it working well again. Could we even be properly human? We would not know of clouds, rain, or peaceful sea coasts. Instead, we would be oppressed by mere bulkheads, and the ever-need to maintain energy shield generators against cosmic radiation. What a un-beautiful life it would be. The holo-deck will not show us a world of plants and animals and hills and rivers. So, for our not having ever known of a living world, what hope could we feel? And what would any hope we might feel be based upon? So, if someone were to tell us of such a world, how could we believe him? It would just be too fantastical, and too strange. But, back to reality for a moment: we actually know of such a world. So how do we think we objectively imagine that a Star Trek-like space ship is glorious? In its own terms, the ship is a hunk of junk, no matter how many kinds of food it synthesizes. It cannot produce even one living tree. And, we don't even know what a tree is. So our ship, though it can travel at 'warp speed', would only sap us of our more generous sense of humanity. For, for example, no must get even one day off from working to maintain the ship, so long as it needs our tending just for it to keep us both alive and well. Now imagine our ship has automatically taken us to the Earth, and lets us out onto this world. I think we would be far, far more awestruck at this ecological world than we could ever be by suddenly having a fully-functioning USS Enterprise. And, we would be awestruck every moment of every day for the rest of our lives. I was am inspired to write this, about four months ago, because of this girl: ruclips.net/video/0rG7r_PhBjA/видео.html

Botton is just another western writer with absolutely zero knowledge or regard for islamic, eastern and indian traditions. Whats worse is that these people are just riding the coat tails of internet sensations like jordan peterson and have nothing original to contribute.
