What a way to celebrate "20 years Jonker Sailplanes" !
What does REY stand for?
I've really enjoyed seeing these from the ground. Much love from Uvalde!
hero music on spin testing?
2024 = 20 years Jonker sailplanes and look at the amazing JS5 !
Why a jet in stead of the solo engine? Min wing ballast for weak days, solo engine balance weight/shaft nit ready, ... ?
Congratulations
*Lekker! Great looking ship! Go get ‘em, Jonkers!*
Nice work, Jonker Sailplanes Team! You can see the smile of PURE PRIDE in workmanship in that ship as he helped get it to the line. These expensive ships provide jobs that give people something to be proud to be a part of - and produce things that bring others joy in ownership. I hope to one day join the ranks of JS owners. It looks like a wonderful Team you have gathered together. Good luck, blessings and peaceful soaring at Uvalde and beyond.
but how is it to put together? I hear it is a pain.
Why doesn’t the tailweel retract?
The rear wheel has very low drag, and when the rear wheel retraction mechanism is fitted, it adds even more weight.
@@Ljet600 You've got it the wrong way round. Glider pilots want to get rid of any small drag they can, to the point that many competition gliders have bug wipers to get rid of the tiny drag created by dead bugs on the wings. On the other hand, extra weight can be an advantage, as the best gliding speed for a heavier glider is higher than a lighter glider, so the heavier one will be faster between thermals.
on the website of JS-Sailplanes it says it has a retractable and stearable tailwheel, so maybe because of the testflight the wheel was not retracted
@@yankiecharlie874correct.
Eager to see, if you can beat the German Team with its EB29R.
Good luck!
🔥🔥🔥

It will be impossible to fill all your orders!
I want one! 8^)
Great work and great looking airplane :)
The transparency with which the Company operates is excellent
wunderschönes flugzeug💙
Great video! Super interesting!
when will make a bigger cockpit glider?
What a beauty. Congrats.
Super!!!!
Very impressive, outright. One question, however. Did you increase the flutter testing with a 20 km/h step? Calculations, for instance with NASTRAN show that above a certains speed the damping very fast reduces an becomes negative. The FAA advises hence to step up with 4 kts (7 km/h) steps for each increase in speed. By taking larger steps you could pass unintensionally the critical damping area, and enter the danger zone.
What a lovely bird 👏
The ultimate test of faith in your product... awesome... congratulations....
Now make an Aerobatic Glider.. Please 🙏
Congratulations!
Gliding is amazing. I believe it is the basic's of flight every pilot needs to know. No matter what. Start here. Thank you.
Yeah, I'd love to fly one too - looks awesome. I can appreciate all that you say about it.
I'll take one for Wednesday to Saturday and one for Sunday to Tuesday, please. 😍
One, to take away please!
Beautiful glider. Makes me want one! Something to dream of for the future.
Hi beautiful flight very smooth . Appreciate you sharing your experience and views. Thanks from India / Bharat 🇮🇳
Nice one Mark 😊👍✈️, nice to meet you the other day out at Beverley, Regards Chris Smith
I believe, that the absolutely key has to be, to built a complete new wing profile. Wind resistance by 250 km/h with glide ratio of 1:80 should be similar to a pinguine body. This ones swim enormous fast with a huge water resistance. That means their shape is absolutely optimized. Dolphin also. How reachable? Look at the front nose/body profile. Patent now im proofing by authoroties.
Congratulations Jonker Sailplanes!
Great Job Team Jonkers ! We will be looking forward to test your latest model at Worcester in the Cape!
Jonker Gents , AP & Uys, Please allow us to come and do Celebrity-Drive or perhaps a Celebrity Fly interview at your most convenient opportunity. We are based in the Cape, so if you guys can give us some time, we will make our way there! Looking to experience the "JET" power glider!
amazing birds :))
nice,,,, be nice to charge them while in the bird :))
Love to fly your gliders in condor!
Wow that's a beautiful glider! Thanks for a great video and to all who were involved in designing, building and bringing this amazing state of the art bird to fruition. Its awesome!
Very nice and usable, but that power knob may be much more responsive, isn´t much safe to rotace this knob too much times to get full throttle. It may need only 1 or 2 rotation, because isn´t necessary to have it so sensitive.
Fantastic, well done Attie en Uys en of course die helle span daar by JS!
Showwwwww!!!! Bons vôos!!!!
What a beauty, that low slick pointy cockpit is just wow! Happy selling to the Team! 🙂- Regards, Wiebe Bosman from Netherlands, Terlet apt.
