It is safe. Just the usual advice no matter where we travel: - go to places with crowds - avoid dark/isolated alleys Have a safe trip :)

Wonderful to see this journey. My father worked on surveying this section in the 1950s. I went to school at St John's in Beaufort.

Correction: Mount Kinabalu is NOT the highest peak in South East Asia. It is the highest peak in Malaysia and Borneo. 🙏

There are a few timing from Beaufort. You can check the schedule from railway.sabah.gov.my Depending on your journey, if you are doing day trip, then take the earlier train to Tenom, so that you can catch the train back to Beaufort on the same day. Tips: when heading to Tenom, the right side will have a better view Enjoy the nature and also experience the life of the locals. Some of them really depend on this train as their main transportation. I hope you have a wonderful trip during Malaysia Day (16th September). Do share with us your experience 😁
