Watching you shoot I am wondering why you do not use the Dynamic Targeting Reticle available under Settings. SO much better than static in my opinion.

NO, it would be had the torp firing angles not be so terrible. The guns are great but nah, its not worth it.

I have not used the Training rooms for firing practice but after watching how easy it was for you to set it up, I must have a practice at firing at a variety of moving Bots. A question - Are these rooms open for other players to enter as observers or are they strictly by invitation only?

Here some advice you could add, No. 5) just right-click while zoomed in, and enter Free-look and look around after each salvo... if you keep your left mouse click down and the right mouse click down as well, you'll auto fire at where you were aiming, and still can see around. No. 4) not always possible in DDs to look around, due to not everyone has Kagero's level of detect. (Kagero can have it down to <5.5km detect). No. 3) Don't ever count on them to help you especially in a DD, due to over committing. But as much as possible run in a division group on voice chat to help coordinate among each others... No. 2) in Co-Op and Operations, just wing it as things changes. This is because, things change a lot especially in the latter stages of Operations. Its almost always best to play cautious in your first few runs of a certain Operation, until you get use to it. No. 1) Don't agree with that one... since even Superships and Tier 10 Montana's and Schlieffen's get totaled in some Operations before the second phase of a battle. Many beginners in Operations, often play way too cautious, and end up being the only ones left, while they run away from a fight. Due to this, it helps for everyone to at least play mildly cautious especially at the second phase of Operations, but even before it too. Don't expect your supership to take you through the whole Operation untouched. Now, I'll admit I generally see myself as a newbie still, but after 240+ hours of playing WoWS, and mostly focused on Operations and sometimes Co-Op, I feel that a good No. 1 mistake would be, Over-confidence. That is because no matter which modes you play in, what ships you play in, and what you do in those modes, everyone has that flaw at some point. It would tie in well with No. 2 as well, because a little bit of caution would help to curtail that over-confidence, in my honest opinion.

So the main points I take from this is..... Mini map, Mini map, Mini map, and general awareness.... Patience.... Be patient, each match is at least 20 minutes, heaps of time. Take your time and don't rush in. Know your role.... work to the advantage/role of your ship type. Do the right thing for the team if you can, despite how that same team appears to behave towards you (sometimes your "team mates" can be really toxic, just ignore those). In the end it'll work out in your favour. I think I have those points covered so far..... It's the "thinking ahead" that still escapes me, I'm not that bright ;-) Really appreciate your videos, look forward to each one. Thank you.

as part of screening, torp or stealth dd should use torps for anti access area denial right. another is to smoke up for cruisers for good teamwork

My disconnect probably saved my life, so I didin't die in first 3 minutes of the game, like I usually do XD Well done sir, winning game where I was playing DD.

Pommern can be a fun ship (I got mine free from a crate!) but being focused by 1/2 a dozen enemy including a Colombo (probably spamming SAP?) Yep... he should have listened to big brother :-p

Great video. I am now just starting DD lines in a real way. 90% of my DD games are still the low tier stuff to get to cruisers, battleships, and CVs. For some reason, a clan wanted me to merc for them in Clan Battles - and, they asked me to play a Tier VIII DD. I have exactly one (1) Tier VIII DD that I whaled from a Black Friday event. I really wanted the Cossack because of it's history, it's captain (Admiral Vian was a stud), and because I heard it was a good bote... I have a total of 24 games it it - almost all of them in high quality divisions where if I blew up all is not lost. Laughs all around... 🙂 Anyway, because of my skill level I have really focused on three things: Spotting Screening and, Staying alive. It is amazing what a mediocre team can do if you succeed at those three things. Damage is only necessary when you want to push around the enemy or deny sea lanes. I'd say that caps are important more important than screening, but that is a bit whatever. You end up doing it all anyway.

Thanks, loving these guides, and you're making them at exactly the right time (for me) Of course I need to take the guide as a "basis" and develop my own ideas that suit me, depending an the sort of DD or Cruiser I like to play (some cruisers are more like big DD's, some more like BB's etc) but this is a great place to start and to me at least , makes a lot of sense. Any chance of a guide that show some ships you recommend in each class for beginners? "Beginner friendly" as opposed to "best in class" if expert players used them. BTW, it's "phases", not "fazes". Not meant as criticism, your English is very good, better than a lot of my fellow Australians! One of those stupid things in English where even though there's already a letter better suited, for some reason we use "ph" as "f" and an "S" where "Z" would be better. They must do it on purpose to trick people. I'd argue your spelling makes more sense.

The better cruiser players are slow starters who let fellow players come under fire first and see where opponents go and whether they play defensively or actively. We Dutch call that: emptying someone else's plate first. Maybe not nice, but very important. Greetings.🌷🌷

I've already told you that I think the map you play on is very important. Players of these types of cruisers usually think if there are many islands then I am good for cover. Unfortunately, even you had forgotten where all the opponents were and the smoke was your lifesaver. 🌷🌷

Nice information, occasional lower tier stuff would be handy, as a beginner myself, thanks. As an aside, I recently found out that apparently the biggest weak spot on the Ipiranga is the central turret ( behind the funnel). A hit there is just about a guaranteed citadel, and possible dev strike. Might be what happened to the friendly Ipiranga @4:13. Only problem, every missed attempt just feeds it's "funny button"
