Keep the sheep content flowing like milk! Lol I'm trying to learn.
Thank you! Excellent information and you’ve made it seem way less complicated. ❤
@@Athena_11_ thanks so much! I’m so glad it was helpful 🥰
They're so fluffy!
Great advice thanks for the pep talk 🎃
This is my first week with baby chicks/chickens. Picked up 4 from Family Home and Farm.I got two Americanas (or Americaunas maybe??? Not sure)....also got two 'Assorted Bantams' (straight run). The Americanas look just like the easter eggers...cant tell the difference, really. If the bantams turn out to be roosters, how long before they start being loud and crowing (as roosters do)?
@@KE8ZSZ congrats!! Usually with mine I can tell around 9-12 weeks who is looking like a rooster and they will start crowing around 20-24 weeks.
Great tutorial, thanks
This video answered so many of my questions about sheep milk! We are buying our first small acreage and I’m wanting to get dairy sheep…can you recommend a dairy sheep breed that’s great for beginners? Thanks so much!!
@@virginiainnes9042 I have loved my East Friesian girl, she is an amazing producer, great cream line, and very sweet and affectionate. They are becoming more easy to find. There are some great Facebook groups where you can find ones for sale as well like “homestead dairy sheep” let me know how it goes!
Thank you for the helpful information! I will definitely look into them! I am so excited to get started!! God bless!
You can use a dehydrator if you have the right kind. I use mine for my yogurt works amazing!!! Great to have some fellow sheep dairiers out there!!
Love your kitchen and how real you are! Great video easy to understand!
New subscriber! 👋🏼 Love this, appreciate the helpful, practical, honest content. 😁 Especially the messy kitchen. 😂 We are thinking about sheep and keep sitting on the fence. Actually we need a fence
I have had much better success with the Two Prong premier one fencing. I've been having my ram mow the yard for me all summer and he hasn't gotten out of it and it hasn't fallen down even with big rain storms.
Thanks so much info in one stop❤
That evening light on you!
😎 😄
Bummer about the pickle law!
I know right?! 😭
Oh, and if you want to break up the soil along your fence lines and the edge of your garden, you might try an oil seed radish or a tillage radish, or both. They are great at breaking up hard ground. Jason over at Cog Hill Farm talks about using radish to break up his compacted garden soil.
Thank you so much!!
Mullein flowers can be used for tea, cough syrup and an oil for ear aches. Serenity Hill Farmstead has an excellent video on all the uses for the entire plant.
Thank you for this helpful video! My echinacea plant is 3 years old now, it's as tall as me and about two feet in diameter so I'm really excited to go harvest!✨
❤ sweet video
Great content. We just got some dairy sheep and want to learn to make everything you just made so this is so great and helpful
Do they go on pasture or are they dry lot? We have a small yard so trying to figure out how to do this without pasture.
@@theaeroponictowerchannel great question! I rotate mine around their pasture. They have about 1 acre to themselves. In the winter it doesn’t grow much at all so they eat mostly hay during winter time :) I hope that helps!
Oh no, I panic first 😅 I thought it away 😢 But, i left a little bit of the starter mixed with vinegar alcohol… why? Idk 😅 I’ll try to save it tho… Tks a mil ❤
I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel! This was the best I just bought two echinacea plants and started two pots as well with seeds. This was super informative and a lot of help!!! We have wild elderberry but I’ve never been able to harvest because the birds get there before I do!
what breed are these:?] LOVE this tutorial, thank you! First time milking mine over here;]
@@chaiwithfarmgirl these babies are 1/4 Tunis and 3/4 East Friesian. They are getting huge so fast!
I should have brought you my extra zinnias!
Elijah got a pack for his 4h so I may snag a few lol his sprouted fine
I like your pea trellis
Your peppers might need more fish emulsion!
As soon as this rain stops that's my plan lol
@@WildHeartsHomesteadSC I hit mine with a little the other day...not to super wet them but give them a little something!
Nice place to visit
I went walk about on our place not long ago and brought in a Bunch of Elderberry starts. I potted a few up, gave a few away and planted a bunch of them in a new, more accessible, spot. I agree with you that when money is tight spending it on something that gives it back is a great idea.
That's great! I love finding things I wasn't expecting on my property <3
No advice, but I've made money selling rhubarb, rose of sharon, citronella, sage, rosemary... plants I've planted or already had growing. I'm excited for my elderberry in the coming years
Love it!
You got monetized.. Watched em all... The plants you sent me have grown 4-5 inches already!!.. can you email me a place to send you a hand made thank you? Seems my dog needed the box more than I did😂
You are so sweet! I'll send you an email. So glad your elderberries are doing so well!
Aww they are so cute and beautiful ❤️😍
Thank you <3
How did all of them survive? Did you get them vaccinated or smth?
No I don’t vaccinate my chicks. If I see signs of coccidiosis I treat it as needed. They are all doing great, laying beautiful blue eggs. 💚
@@WildHeartsHomesteadSC I think you might be living in an area with better air quality & atmosphere overall, if I try raising week old chicks they only survive a week.
I was going to do so much work tomorrow, now its raining all day😭. Looks like Tuesday is the next dry day, Sigh
We have gotten SO much rain too! How are your plants holding up?
@@WildHeartsHomesteadSC slow and steady
May the 4ths be with you!
Anna is excited to go try honeysuckle! We found some this morning. Did you get rain yet?
We got a sprinkle haha still hoping for some rain
Good morning... How are you
As well as can be, how are you friend?
@@WildHeartsHomesteadSC I am also well
I keep going back and forth on the fencing. I’d love for my sheep to help me mow! I always go back and forth on keeping a ram or studding. Btw I love the name. One of my twin boys is Caspian the other Aslan. ♥️ They have the same wheels as your guy does. Except in green not red.
Thank you! Aslan is a great name too :) This two prong electric fencing seems to be working, it does hang down in the middle between posts so I would get extra support posts to put in between if you do get it, but he has respected the fence so far. *fingers crossed*
So helpful! Thank you 🌻
Good❤
Haha, if only we could tell when we're about to give birth by our hips!
Right?! Haha
Ooohhh, 🎉 (thank you for not intruding on momma. Such a pet peeve watching homesteaders insert themselves in the process unnecessarily)
The babies are ADORABLE ❤
You are very sincere
Great video! I see that at least one of your ewes is an East Friesian (or EF cross)!! I have 3 EF ewes and they're wonderful sheep. I'm only milking 2 of them right now (the other has some ff production hiccups at the moment and can't afford to lamb share) and for their first freshening I'm getting almost a half a gallon of milk a day!! 🤯 your video was so concise, helpful, and REALISTIC and I really appreciated it. I will certainly be trying to make your yogurt this week! 😁 I really want to make fetta! There are so few decent videos on using SHEEP milk.
Thank you so much! My older girl is east friesian and my younger one is east friesian/tunis. They are the sweetest 😍
Your fridge looks like mine with all the milk in the mason jars. I've been getting into exotic ice creams with my sheep and goat milk (half and half in our household is 1/2 sheep 1/2 goat mix). I made a lavender honey with a pinch of salt and I made a kefir lime, freeze dried coconut powder, honey with a pinch of salt. Have you tried an electric centrifuge cream separator with sheep milk? I bought one but I haven't tried it.
I love this! I haven’t tried a centrifuge yet though. Let me know how it works for you :)
Well done, 💚 your diy's
Love the new shelter
Hello friend...
Spring is awesome - like you said, so cool to start fresh. I've been loving yarrow in tincture form as a support for fever/flu; shortens the duration and 'ick' feeling of a fever. 👍 Definitely a keeper in the medicine cabinet!
I love this! Thank you!!
You have so much mulch!
You're the best, plant sitting my plants!
