The Easiest speaker replacement video for Nissan Altima 2008 Coupe
Having watched a dozen or more videos I had no idea how easy it is. Order your choice of 6x9 replacements. From trunk underneath deck remove carpet using proper plastic tab tool. Then locate factory speakers and remove 4 size 5/20 star screws and speaker will fall. *optional* connect speaker cable adapter or cut factory terminal connector off and connect to new 6x9 and install using factory hardware. 10 min job here people!

My 2016 Altima didn't come with rear speakers. There's metal covers that are attached from the top of the deck. I just might cut those to get access from underneath the deck.
of course Nissan wants to use a torx screw head. lord forbid they do something sensible like...i don't know...use a bloody PHILLIPS HEAD like everyone else!!!!
I really appreciate you for putting your time to making a video for us coupe owners 💪🏻
How many speakers do you have in that car?
@Greg Riley I never understood why some Altima coupes had bottom bolted speakers but I'm glad mine were. BTW my 6x9s didn't seem to fit the screw holes properly, so I don't have them all in. What speakers did u buy, and did all 4 holes per speaker align for you?
6.5 component speakers w separate tweeters. I'll check the exact name brand when I get home, buy they are related to fosgate. They've held up for nearly 5 years now, so no complaints here.
@@gregriley1708 you went with 6.5s not 6x9s for your rear deck? Thanks for responding btw.
@@Tech4Lyfe yes. 6x9 looks like would be a better fit than the 6.5. I checked out the brand and they are Renegade btw. They were under $100 and I was kinda skeptical about them being affiliated w Fogate, still not sure about that, but they've held up great.
With the speakers being installed and bolted in from the top to the metal deck from factory, there’s no way possible this would work.
On this particular 08 AC, the factory speakers were mounted from the bottom. They were factory and I highly doubt the previous owner removed them and mounted them underneath. That wouldn't make any sense.
Were you ever able to find the firmware update? I have a similar one that I want to use in my car. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks in advance.
forum.xda-developers.com is the place I've found to get the best info on these radios. This radio was stolen from my car, and I've since moved on to purchase another vehicle and have stuck with the factory setup. However, I have purchased similar setups for my 2 oldest kids and installed those for them. For $100 more ($250 -/+) I have found android radio with factory bezel kits to be the best route. Those tend to look better. Thanks
how did you take the rear trunk liner clamps out?? mine wont pull out for some reason.
The plastic tool set for trim work at auto stores or Walmart. Pop the center circular piece up first then it comes right out.
Replaced mine using this video:) thanks!
Does this work for a Nissan Altima 2011 also ? Thanks
What’s the size of the front speakers do you know??
I don't remember but Crutchfield . Com will
Thanks man For the Input. Good to know. All knowledge no matter how small can be very useful as you learned. Thanks for passing it on. 👍
Thank you and glad to hear this may have helped.
Thank you
You are welcome and thank you for the comment. *I had forgotten I made this vid and hadn't noticed other questions.
Beautiful car, great sounding engine and correct period music! It's perfect!
Can I use the same connector without cutting anything ?
Dangit, apologies for not seeing this. I cut mine after not having luck at my local electronic shops with speaker adapters. If you plan ahead, you could probably find them online.
Make it video how to replace the front speakers
Sorry for the delay. I haven't made many vids and not sure where my alerts for msging goes here. Anyways, the front dash speakers I would suggest leave the factories in there. I have considered an inline cossover to filter out the low end tho.
Does this work with the Bose speaker as well
I imagine it would. Primary difference I am aware of, is bose systems have an amplifier powering their speakers. Thanks and apologies in not seeing your question sooner.

Can anyone tell me what a 1953 2 door hardtop 331 firedomev8 red tam hemi deluxecustom sportsman desoto only 642 made in l a power locks and power windows is worth
The radio is still working! It's had it's ups and downs though. I had to reset it to make it work properly. The screen has went blank or off, and other bugs before the reset. It was definitely worth the $120-$140 I paid for it. So, if anyone has one of these and it acts up, try the reset or disconnect it from power all together for 12 hours or so.
how good is the radio working now
I used a sharp knife to kindly shave the housing. I shaved it from inside out with the radio mounted. I shaved so much then try to put the housing on, seeing which part to carve as I go. I used a black sharpee to cover the light grey discoloration and it worked out unnoticeable. Good luck and hope this helps.
how did you fit it in your truck?
hi thanks for the video. can you tell about the rack mount. i have a m20d and confused about fitting it into a rack mount. like a dj road case or something like that. what are the measurements of your rack case **
This video is of terrible quality. Basically, all I am trying to show M20d owners is that it is possible to use a wii usb ethernet adapter without any problems.
Hey what retention interface did u use to install for wiring and door chime and power
Robert Page The gm onstar adapter. They make several types that will work with your specific needs. I found a used one on ebay for cheap.
onstar adapter. they are nearly as much $ as the unit itself. I found a used one on ebay $40 so I got lucky.
Only problem I am having so far is the sound to the speakers from the powered speaker outs, go out intermittently (Sub out continues to play) So far, this has been corrected by tapping the front of the unit. If it goes out completely,I will probably get a small 4 way amp, *still cheaper than a name brand car dvd unit* The rear camera has too narrow of a view for my vehicle. So I use it to see what is directly behind me and use my mirrors for side views.
I have the exact same unit, I love it thus far, I just wish the interface was a bit nicer. A firmware update would be very helpful
From what I've researched, hit or miss on bricking the unit. I used the onstar kit however, if I push my onstar button the radio powers off-on for 2-3 min. No subscription to on☆ so can't tell what's happening. also I wired the cam into aux jack so I can chose to use it or not by changing source.
