Surefire Tactician Initial Overview

First look at the new Surefire Tactician
Wonder if a Thyrm deep carry clip works.
Thanks for doing the multiple weapon footprints. I was caught between the snubby and the medium, this confirmed I needed the medium!
Glad it helped!
You observation on the zipper pulls is spot on, I use some non reinforced fuel/vacuum line on mine. Makes em easy to ID and grab
No perfect products out there. Luckily, this one just takes small changes
Lots of important SUBTLE insights - sharing wisdom. TY
Appreciate your appreciation haha
What version of the Vanguard are you using?
@@jomckeag4482 I’m only using the trigger guard itself, so you could use any of them with the hardware removed. The lanyard version is the cheapest, since it leaves out the hardware that isn’t used, anyway
Esstac has cool mounting straps I believe they’re called wtx or wtf ? They should work with the laser cut panel.
Yep, any MOLLE/PALS compatible pouches and mounts
Very helpful, thanks!
I wish these companies would quit making those same colors, (FDE, ODG, Black). I wish they would quit making it look tactical. I want anything but that tactical look.
They do offer other colors, but avoiding bright colors is what some of us want. Check out their website to see the blue they offer. My wife is happy with hers
Awesome video!! What’s that the 12 round mag?? If not does the module work with the 12 rounder? Thanks!
Yes, that's the standard 12 round mag, and it'll take the 15, as well
@@crbaldree001 Thank you so much!!
Outstanding overview. Thanks.
Appreciate it!
What is the sizing of this waist wise.
I don't remember the initial length, but it was substantial. I cut off over a foot to make the extra tail shorter and still have some extra. They're very responsive to inquiries, if you wanted to send them an email
1- per Sig, take pin out to left 2- install mag release BEFORE you install trigger module - much easier to guide that pain in the ass spring through the grip that way/
What part of the trigger module interferes with that spring?
excellent job. was already considering this bag for a hellcat pro, which is probably close in size to your 365xl. only drawback i've seen....this bag is expensive compared to other bags in this category...like almost 2x. but appears to be very good quality and i like the design. again thanks.
You’re not wrong on the price, but I think it is a MUCH better product with better features. Things like the laser cut, Velcro PALS, proper sized zippers, and the well thought out design are worth it
@@crbaldree001 thank you. i had looked at recommended bags from elite survival, eberlestock, vertx, etc. they were all less expensive. i do like this bag tho and another channel i watch w/ a navy seal liked it. again, good job showing/describing the bag. sounds like a good time to play the card: 'buy once, cry once'.
Does anyone know if this will fit a 365 macro with a red dot?
G48 with a dot just sneaks in there. The macro is about 0.16” taller, but the slightly shorter length may let it tilt forward enough that the dot clears the zipper
Thanks man, just ordered one.
No idea why they didn't cover the whole pistol compartment w/hook and loop...
They do on one of their larger models, but for this one they stayed away. I think one of the owners/designers mentioned it holding more heat
Would a Glock 45 fit?
No, a 19 would be the absolute largest. The grip on the 45 would probably make the rear sight and back of the slide stick above the zipper
Could this work as a sling chest rig ?
Yea, but access to a pistol is not good when carried that way. Either you have to get your arm WAY up to get a grip, or if carried hanging the opposite direction, you risk the pistol sliding out of the pocket when you open the zipper
@@crbaldree001 Thank you for quick response Carson. I understand.Fanny pack it will be.
Great job man - on point! Thanks for demoing g17/19 - exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks
I just got this bag. G19 with a Surefire XC1 fits.
A very practical and cost effective upgrade, installed tungsten weights as well. Night and day on felt recoil impulse. Subbed 👍 🇺🇲
6:03 Exactly. They’re called manual thumb safeties.
*promosm* 🤦
Lots of great tips! Thank you!
Do you look at your malfunction clearance now?
Might glance down, but not to circumvent immediate actions
@@crbaldree001 Right on
Great video and a awesome product for running malfunction drills. Thanks for making it.
Appreciate it. I've got a drill in the works that utilizes these, that'll I'll publish at some point
@@crbaldree001 can’t wait to see it bro

Too cool not to share. These really are awesome
The little tub for live mags is a smart idea.
And we had too many, anyways. Win-Win
Preach!
Good advice!
Will a sig p228 fit ? Thanks for your vid
Couldn't say for sure, since I don't have one. I compared it on the handgunhero website to a P365XL and it looks like it probably would
Sort of missed a couple of key categories there on 'Step 1'. Could be bad ammo, improperly sized ammo, improper OAL etc. Some firearms have particular ammo they can't fire or are finicky towards or basically, if you are shooting re-loads, could have OAL, or oversized case issues.
Those are problems, but this isn’t an exhaustive list, of course. This video is geared towards fixing malfunctions that only require the pistol to be manipulated, as opposed to different ammo selection or requiring additional equipment. I do believe I addressed bad ammo, when we talked about primer problems. If the primer works, but powder is bad, we’re likely to have a squib, which is can’t be addressed with a simple manipulation, since it requires a rod or dowel to remove the projectile
Great stuff here, brother. You’ve got a real talent for teaching!
Really appreciate that. Doing it through video is tricky, since you don’t get a chance for immediate feedback through questions and such
Thanks man. With semi autos being so much more affordable and prevalent than revolvers, and so much more prone to problems, this video is VERY much needed.
Glad you think so! Revolvers have issues, too. Usually a bit more catastrophic when they do break. They aren’t really my lane, though
more quality content, keep it coming
Thanks, dude
Nice work buddy!
Going for better each time
Instant sub. Glad I found your channel! Semper Fi! 🇺🇸
Nice vid. Ugly grip module.
Eye of the beholder, I suppose. Some people think stock glocks are pretty
Great video and I like the setup
Good plan and workup .
Thanks. It was a work in progress for about 9 months
Good deal
Good thinking! Thanks!
Solid tip Carson!
Thanks. Just trying to fast-track the learning process for others
Cut to camera 2! Excellent info and nice production.
@@ThatBlevinsGuy thank you, I just learned how to get that edited
You can unscrew the tailcap ring by the switch. That is what the notches are for. To install the tailcap switch and lanyard ring. I like this light but I'm not crazy about the clip it comes with. My Elzetta Bravos will still be my go to lights for work though. They are much more durable than a Surefire and have numerous other advantages like a modular design, fully potted electronics so it is significantly more impact resistant and waterproof INSIDE and out, plus they have a replaceable 1 inch thick solid acrylic optical lens. Love my Surefire lights but I prefer the best for emergencies and use the second best at home. The really cool thing about the Tactician though is it does well as a defensive light and utility light plus like all other Surefire lights it weighs nowhere near as much as an Elzetta Bravo. It is small to so it might be a bit better for gym shorts, minus the bezel up clip. I don't mind the extra weight from the Bravo at work but around town or at a friend's house I deal with it because I like having the best tool on me. I would probably bring the Tactician to work but my job is too tough at times for a Surefire and I nearly recked my Fenix light. The bezel up carry was another reason. Still one of my top 5 favorite lights though which says a lot because I literally have drawers full of different lights including several high-end ones. Surefire does have a heck of a warranty though and amazing customer service.
What is the size of the cord in mm?
3mm would be the closest, though 4 would do fine
Nice vid man! I actually sell a kit to make lanyards similar to this for all your gear. "TruRugged Lanyard Kit"
How is this the only video on this thing?? This clip is what made me decide on the light! I personally am way to use to bezel down to try and switch
Couldn’t say man, it should definitely have more exposure
That button-cap actually screws off, so you don't need to cut the ring.
This needs to be higher up. It's pretty easy to damage both the factory tailcap and its lanyard ring by, say, forcing it off. Would have been nice for SureFire to document this, also. I suppose one could also look for the "two notch" pattern to guess when SureFire expects something to unscrew.
Of the many folks I know that have removed the lanyard ring, not one has damaged the tailcap
Ordered my clip, great video!
