This is just a personal preference two thin coats of caliban green will cover nicely but I use black just to give the green a darker base to sit on, I feel it makes the green less harsh than on a lighter base.

yeah that should work fine its all about preference i use halfords white primer as an alternative it covers well and doesnt powder often.

i got these ones from a very old transfer sheet i belive it was the tactical squad from 4th ed

hi @sherlock9397 im really glad you enjoy the video and are using it to help you paint your models. for the eyes i used mehiston red base then applied a wash of agrax earthshade then i painted the centre with mephiston red and applied dot highlights of evil sunz scarlet. and finish with a single dot of white. then to add shine i appled gloss varnish on the eye lense. hope this helps.

hi mathias thanks for enjoying the video. depending on how heavy you use the contrast depends on how dark the armour can look i would probably use either ushabti bone or morghast bone.

the medium helps tie it all together and gives a smoother blend between the pigments, its not the most necessary step but i feel it adds to the finished product. really glad you enjoyed video dude.

I guess it can be done either way but the armour will always need watching it’s a shame their such bright models painting dark and light together is always a challenge.

@@seasickpiratestudios9015 yeah they'd look great I just prefer company veterans because of all the options, for 31pts a model you can give them a combat shield, power sword and a storm bolter and get a statline thats similar to bladeguard but with the shooting capability of a terminator squad.

@@josephrigley8974 im just getting into 9th so im re learning how to play. veterans sound like a great option. im gonna do a crimson fists army that mainly consists of shooting.

Since I’ve recorded this video I’ve actually steered away from using corax white spray from GW and have been using other white sprays like Halfords white primer and colour forge Matt white. I find they have better coverage and are very consistent on colour between batches. Not only that they’re cheaper and come in bigger cans! GW are great at many things but white spray isn’t one or them. Hope this comment helps and glad you enjoyed the video 😁👍👍👍👍

Thanks for the comment I’m glad you like the video! If I can offer some advise on applying a smooth coat there are a few things to look out for… make sure your undercoat is on smoothly sometimes with white under coats they can dry chalky this will absorb your base layer and won’t give you a nice flat colour. Also make sure that your mix is properly mixed together this will avoid application looking patchy and uneven distribution. Hoping this comment helps and I’d love to see your models when completed ✅

@@seasickpiratestudios9015 Thanks man. I tried diluting the mix a little bit and it worked really well. I went for a 3:2 ratio adding a bit more medium and it made things easier. You're absolutely right about white undercoats drying a bit chalky. I always try to be very neat when priming, applying thin and even layers but white is a bit of a pain in the arse. I'll share my bladeguard vet once I finish it. Thanks a lot m8!
