A board built with EPS foam, wall cork, and fibreglass. It was made as a birthday present for my girlfriend.
EPS is incredibly cheap, lightweight, and really easy to get hold of (this block of foam came from the local Wickes!). There is some epoxy-laminated glass fibre tape laminated onto the EPS, to give the board a bit of extra strength, and to set the rocker angles during the build.
Cork is a natural material, that's great for sandwich composites like the one seen here. It soaks the resin well for minimal weight gain, whilst also being impact resistant and great in compression.
