I decided to contribute rather than just consume RUclips videos. I have been watching since nearly the beginning of RUclips when it was a collection of pretty random "home videos".
I am perpetually tinkering with whatever vehicle I have. This will never change, I'm just going to film it and upload it here now. My hope is that other people can get something out of them. My current vehicle is a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro.

Tacoma TRD Pro Takes On Red Cone Pass In Colorado. I made it through the gatekeeper, but barely!
Once again I'm posting a video of a trail ride. This time it's Red Cone Pass here in Colorado. I've really been enjoying exploring the trails this state has to offer, and there are a ton of trails in Colorado. I look forward to finding more trails and hopefully posting more videos.

Tacoma TRD Pro Takes On Webster Pass, Colorado
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I show my GoPro footage of Webster Pass. I sped the video up to 500% but you can definitely still see what the trail has to offer. Like I say in the video, I'd rate the trail as easy other than the narrow shelf road which will test you more mentally than technically.
Body Armor Hi-Line Front Bumper Install On A 3rd Gen Taco TRD Pro. The Easy Way!
Просмотров 22 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I go through a revised version of the installation for the Body Armor Hi-Line bumper on my 3rd gen Tacoma TRD Pro. I watched the company's video and read the instructions but I thought several of the steps were not needed. So I skipped them and probably saved 30-40 minutes doing it my way. The installation came out great. The bumper looks nice on the truck.
3rd Gen Tacoma Mods: RCI Rock Slider Installation. Now I Just Need To Find Some Rocks To Bash On.
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I install a set of RCI rock sliders for the 3rd Gen Tacoma. I go over the installation of both driver and passenger sides. Although they're mostly the same the drivers side is a little more involved. I did make a mistake which I point out in the video, so hopefully after watching this you can breeze right through it.
3rd Gen Tacoma TRD Pro Mods: DIY ECGS Front Diff Install.
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I go over what's needed to remove your diff and swap over the components needed for the new diff. If you are contemplating doing this yourself (and save $1000-$1500 in the process), I can say that it's not too bad. It takes some time, but it's not overly complicated or difficult. The hardest part of removing the front diff was getting the CV axles to pop out of the diff. Other tha...
3rd Gen Tacoma TRD Pro Mods: DIY ECGS Rear Diff Swap- On Jack Stands.

My first long highway trip was a learning experience in this truck. Coming from a stage 2 Audi s3 I was spoiled a little when it comes to power, and the DSG transmission's lightning quick shifts. The Tacoma drove horribly in comparison so I read up about what to do and regearing came up over and over. I wasn't going to spend $3500(Denver's inflated cost for a regear) for a shop to do, so I foun...
Un-Boxing ECGS Preassembled Gears For 3rd Gen Tacoma TRD Pro

My 3rd Gen Tacoma TRD Pro Rides So Much Better Now!!! Icon RXT Install On 3rd Gen Tacoma.
Просмотров 9 тыс.2 года назад
I installed Icon RXT leaf packs on my 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro. After I added the topper the truck needed help so I looked at adding new leaf springs. I choose the Icons because of the adjustability they come with. I installed them on option 1(good for ~1.875in lift unloaded). They come with an extra leaf to configure them in 2 more ways. Option 2(swapping the extra included spring with the 3rd spri...
I really gotta know how you got it lined up with only removing one wheel.
Does anyone make a bumper similar to the Body Armor that doesn't require you to cut the OEM bumper?
Thank you
I got the bumper, just have to get time, to install it..
WOW Nice job.
awesome video...
What diff did u put in? And where did u get it?
Also does this keep ur locker normally??
Did you ever do a video on the front diff/clamshell removal?
Thanks for the video just place an order. Do you by any chance know the weight of this tough guys ? Thanks in advance.
I think they were 60 pounds each, but it's been a while since I weighed them.
@@infinitemods540 thanks for your reply. Have a nice weekend.
Thanks for the video Just did the icon stage 8 on my 3 gen Trd 2017. Thought it just had leveling kit from dealer, so thinking the small block that was under the factory leaf was stock. In your video no block of course. I did use the blocks the leaf pins seamed to line up better. Now the back end does sit a bit higher than the front. I tow a trailer with my razor , If it doesn’t settle it down I may have to pull the blocks out. Lol should have done a bit more research before doing the install.
Nice install! I am debating between their 20 vs 5 degree options. Can you still use yours as a step?
They functioned as a side step just fine. If you or anyone that uses them actually "needs" side step to get into the truck the 0 degree works work best. The 20 degrees worked fine for me.
If you don't bleed you didn't do it right 🙂
That's always been my philosophy. 😂
I used to work for an electric coop trimming out powerline right of ways and i came across roads to peoples houses that looked like this trail! 😂
Really nice music selection
Really solid video showing the install process and well done doing this by yourself.
I will be getting my RCI rock sliders today and this video will definitely help me during the installation. Thanks for making this!
Is webster pass a 2 way trail or do u have to go trough red cone or that road??
Webster pass is 2 ways. I think red cone is 2 ways until the steep downhill section.
@@infinitemods540 coo thank you also were you stoped before going on the road to the left was the big hill to red cone can u go up or is that only a one way?
The steep hills of red cone are one way down. That's the only section that's one way. You'll see signs posted saying one way, and if you're at the top of red cone you'll see signs telling you that the trail becomes one way past this point.
@@infinitemods540 thank you for the info good video 👍
Whats your build info?
I think I know what you're asking here. I had a 1.5 inch lift front and rear, full skids, rock sliders, 33 inch tires, and the winch that got me unstuck. The skid plates and sliders are what I got caught up on.
I want to do that to mine, which Smitty Built winch is it ? and where did you find it ?
Thanks for this vid. Couple questions. The brake line plastic clips, one the slider is installed, do they go back in? Are there hole drilled to accommodate those? Same with the wiring harness clip ??
Great install and review video. I've got the Icon AAL which is working great for now but may be upgrading to these eventually.
I didn't even know you can get it shipped all pre-assembled. Now I just have find somebody who does that in Canada. Thanks for sharing.
Saves some money doing it this way. You should see if east coast gear supply ships to Canada. They might. Shipping would be more but they give their customers their cost on shipping without marking it up for profit.
Hey just wondering if these get in the way at all when you get in out of the truck or if they are tucked in tight enough that you don’t hit them at all.
You do have to adjust how you get in and out of the truck. I have had done older relatives have a tough time with them (getting in and out of the rear). But if you are in decent health they aren't an issue at all.
@@infinitemods540 thank you for the reply, that’s a big help!
very useful, saves hassel removing all the other stuff! would love a short on setting up the winch.
I installed my bumper today. Your video helped me out a lot. Thanks for taking the time to make it!
Awesome! I'm glad it helped.
Thanks, huge help!! Picked up mine yesterday in their warehouse, they're only 45 mins. away from where I live. I picked the 5 degree w/ top plate and powder coated to have a usable steps, access to roof racks and recovery gear very handy. It also added ding protection from parker cars. They're %20 off right now and best time to get one.
Awesome. Im an hour from them so I picked mine up too. I wish they were 20% off when I got mine.
All that dirt don’t effect your car after a while?
35s definitely make the gate keeper alot easier.
33s?
@@HugDeeznueces Lifted Subarus have made it. Yes 33s
Speaking of that narrow shelf road i barely got my 2019 F150 6" lift on 35's down it had about 6 inches to spare... definitely an ass puckering experience. Went down it in 2021.
Did you notice the front of the truck drop? And did you notice the weight while driving?
I didn't really notice any difference with just the bumper and winch. But I added more weight and upgraded front strut springs soon after.
Thank you for the video I would like to see another video for how connect the LED bar light
What pressure do you air down to?
I wish there would be a better leaf spring but without that Bullshit of lift, I want stock height.
Do you have to have a trail map or is it pretty much only one way to get out?
I used Google maps to get there. There aren't many options when you get on the trail, so once there I just stuck to the trail. It is a two way trail except for the steep downhill.
Whoa. Cut on your right hand. This is a real install now!!
Going to be installing the Icon RXT on my 2021 Pro in the next week or so. I'm stuck on which setting to go with. I estimate I have around 500ish pounds with the possibly of adding a RTT. Why did you go back to factory bump stops? I also have the sumo springs installed and im currently riding on them.
I usually ride with ~350#s and I'm on stage 2. I like it there, good height but not too stiff. If you ride around with 500# plus it's go straight to stage 3. I probably could have kept the sumo springs on but they're not needed with the icons so off they went.
With about 230 lb between a cap and a rack, would you go with option one or two? 2021 TRD Pro. Thanks
@@bradmizzouoption one. I started with option 2 and it jacked my truck up almost 5 inches. Option one was perfect for my shell and decked system
@@lucasrust8975thanks and I wonder if I should leave the lift blocks in that come with the TRD Pro or take them out.
@@bradmizzou I didn't have any on my Tacoma. I did go with Bilstein 5100 shocks for the back and front. Working out well
Dude! Loved your soundtrack! I've done Red Cone a lot on a dirt bike. The rocks look different from a vehicle. Ha! Nice job.
I was just wondering how do you access the lever for getting the winch to freewheel?
You have to pop the hood and reach down to the lever, there's plenty of space for even the biggest of ape arms.
@@infinitemods540 thank you for that...helped a lot
Hey, installed mine last night, but could not for the life of me get the forwardmost bolt installed for the frame support bracket. I could not reach my arm in enough to reach the hole
I definitely had to wedge my arm in there to get it to work.
@@infinitemods540 Thanks for the reply! I was laying perpendicular to the frame, but i see you were more facing the front of the vehicle so i will try that tomorrow. Thanks!
Were you able to use the boxes they came in to send back your cores? I’m hoping to do this soon as well
Yeah, the boxes they came in worked perfect for shipping the cores back. The whole process was as good as it gets shipping ~150lbs of metal.
@@infinitemods540 do they send new shipping labels for the boxes? Or how does that part work?
You can choose to have prepaid labels shipped with the order ( I did). There's an option to do that at some point during the order.
Are these the 20 or 5*?
They have the 20 degrees angle.
WOW that downhill is so much nicer now.
Video helped a ton! Didn't wana have to pull the whole front bumper off. Cut a 2hr project into a 45min if that project
Thanks for the video!! The current text-only RCI instructions just don't do it for me
gosh that was surprisingly simple
whats your max load out weight. I have a constant load for work around 600-700lbs. Icon says ill maintain a 1.125 lift with 600lbs. But for how long of life of the springs right? im just on the fence with these and the deaver stage 3s. Weight wise i think i can justify going with Deavers but cost wise Id love to put the extra money into Icon 2.0 rear shocks. Anyone with experience please chime in. Thanks boys.
I can't really speak about their longevity at a constant 6-700lbs. I load up with 6-7-800lbs (incl topper, rack, sliders, armour) when I go on long camping trips and they handle the weight well. I have them at stage 2 and when loaded I am level with my front which has a 1.5 in lift over the stock trd pro. If you want something more heavy duty you should look at OME or deavers, I think the icons are some of the softer more comfortable options.
Thanks for your insights
@@infinitemods540how are they holding up? Do they squeak? I have a decked system and solid rock sliders. I’ll be keeping about 100 pounds of gear and tools everyday. When camping or shooting add 2-3 people plus more gear. No topper… should I go stage 2 or stage 3? I have Bilstein 5100 all 4 wheels.
I'm curious how you managed to install the metal bracket with attached electrical components on the driver's side. After installing the bolt, washers, and nut, I noticed that the bolt is too long and interferes with installing the bracket. The bracket has welded bolts on it, so I cannot simply use longer bolts to adjust for the bolt used to mount the slider. Do you have any advice regarding this?
I think you're talking about the box on the inside of the frame, right? On mine the two mounting studs for that box have enough length to be mounted even with the sliders on. If you have an RCI bolt installed where the box mounts, you may have to cut the bolt down so it'll fit behind the box. Or you can put that bolt in another location so it doesn't interfere with the box. It's been a while since I did mine but I don't think I had to trim any bolts. What year is your truck? Some years and configuration have different setups along the frame.
@@infinitemods540 Correct, the metal box. 2020 model year. I'm thinking about buying a shorter bolt or cutting it.
Either way should work. Is there another bolt hole you could put that bolt in, instead of the around that box? If I was around me truck I'd go look at mine.
Thank you for making this video. I enjoyed your straightforward explanation and the helpful editing. I'm tackling this job soon.
Any problems with the radar?
Nope, the little bull bar sits low enough that it doesn't interfere.
Where is your skid plate? Does the skid plate need to be removed to install the bumper?
Its my understanding the front just needs to drop down a bit. But the way he did the install, it may have bypassed the need for that as well. The BA Bumper is the only one on the market that works with the stock skid plate and TRD skid plate.
@@DFilthySmurf I did bought this bumper and I did not have to take down the skidplate.
