This is my slideshow of Cubs photos from spring training in March 2008.
Did you anybody see anyone wearing a VFL Guernsey Becuase Its Popular Back Then In The 1980s In The USA Because It’s Broadcast On ESPN
“LET’S GET SOME RUNS!!”!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️
tommy did you think about dave kingmans performance??
Two great guys, don’t make them like this anymore. Very missed.
The Chicago cubs are my favorite team i’ll always be a part of their Fanbase

Hi
Someone cut this up. There’s no way he sang this outta time. Well maybe. But yeah you know what I’m sayin
I grew up a Dodger fan, but man I would love to tune in to WGN tv station after school and catch the last 2-3 innings of Cubs games and hope to see the 7th inning stretch. Back in the day before Wrigley had night lights.
Vin Scully!
@@cindysheehan1311 died
The finest residual auditory memory of the '60's.
That's the real Chicago, before the yuppies came.
2 of the best
My favorite of theirs...along with "other side of life"
Why did they play 3:05 games when they had no lights?
Is that Steve Stone lighting a cigar in the background. Brilliant if so!
I was there FIVE days before this! We saw the Cubs and Giants on July 5,1985.
have watched the Cubs near richmond va area since I was about 9 or 10 years old on cable TV wgn since the mid 80,s cable was a lot better then and Harry the cubbies did it cubs win cubs win !!! also if it weren't for stupidity cable really ought to bring the superstitions back back then we had wgn, tbs, work on our cable such good years.
I know Harry is smiling in heaven!
It's great how I don't see any idiots taking Snapchats of themselves on their smart devices.
Kory Keller yessss....the good ole days....enjoying the moment while you are actually IN the moment
Harry Caray better be leading the 7th Inning Stretch during this historic World Series game from the stadium screen !!!
He did tonight along with Eddie Vedder and it was so epic probably the best ever done at Wrigley
I'll have to look on RUclips for that.
0:49 what is it with those 2 old people I have seen them in every video I watched today that got to do with the ball game song and the Cubs. they must be some real fans
Hey! That's my nephew Mark holding up the Beware of the Cubs in '85 sign. I'm proud to say that Harry tabbed me the #1 Cubs fan in '87. I appeared with Harry later that year when he sat in the Right Field bleachers and I was his guest. He introduced me as John Q. Public the fan! I was the Bleacher Preacher in the friendly confines for over 25 years.
Wow, that's awesome man!
OMG that's incredible! Those were the damn days...
I was there...but looking at this footage of the crowd, I should have sit in the left field bleachers instead of the grandstand. Hindsight is 20 20.
Will Ferrel making fun of Harry Caray is sacrilegious! The man was a freaking walking freaking saint!
Did wrigley field radically change their organ or change the rendition of take me out to the ball game in the late 80's? Compare the organ here to the video with gary pressy in 1990, and even today, it sound much different, with the organ taking few breaks.
Yes it was the old organ in the old pressboxes which are now the luxury boxes.
oh that makes a lot of sense
Awesome video!!!!
"Let's get some runs!"
playing this as the last song ate my dads wake tomorrow. ;.)...
Sorry Atlanta Braves and TBS, back in the day the Cubs were the real America's team.
Tell me about it. I'm a Mets fan btw, and I think it would be great for them to go to a world series and they had it in the bag in 2003. They would've beaten those Yankees anyway.
you will never see this again.
THIS is tradition distilled in its purest form. Chicago is a lucky city.
I miss Harry!
Well that's true, in Philly, we may've lost Harry Kalas, but we still have him on the PA and the big video board!!!
Not if the Cubs build an animatron or show the video on the new fancy, schmancy scoreboard that's coming to Wrigley.
He's dead you can't bring him back..... Once your dead your dead till Jesus comes to take you to HIS home.
RIP Harry
Goddamit that's what baseball is all about. Die hard phillies fan from Philly right here but that man is a legend. He and Harry Kalas are enjoying some cold ones upstairs I'd like to think
Harry and Tommy WOW
Bring Harry Back!
Pedro Guerrero !!!! awesome Dodger!!!!!!! one of my favorites
#28
Now he's retired. His last game was also the Astros last home game as a National League team.
And for the record, I'm not insulting you or the Astros. I just hate Milo Hamilton for what he said about Harry in his memoirs.
And your Houston Astros were announced by that Harry-hating jackass Milo Hamilton!
Let's all understand one thing. Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame.
They talk about the Mayan Calendar ending on 12/21, and the World ending as a result. The real "End of the World" will be when the Cubs win the World Series. I'd love to think it will happen in my lifetime (I'm 35), but so many others have said the same since 1908.
We're still here
Each night as I sing my kids their lullabyes, I channel my inner Harry and teach them how this song was meant to be sung.
I hope it worked half as well as my Dad's teaching did. I was genuinely surprised to learn Take Me Out To The Ballgame wasn't written by Harry Caray with Cubbies replaced so other teams could sing it. I actually got in trouble in Music class in elementary school for singing "Root root root for the Cubbies!" Because apparently that was wrong!
Cool my dream car
Yankees are AL, and besides who gives a shit. Baseball isn't all about winning, you shill.
Damn! Can we go back to the late 80s, just for a weekend? There will never be a better manager than Tommy Lasorda nor will there ever be a more eccentric announcer than Harry Caray. Rest in peace, Harry!
@@bizzy24100 one spring training trip like 30 years ago went to dodgertown in Vero and here comes Tommy. You could wander around back then nobody bothered anyone then. Then on to West Palm and here comes Bobby Cox in shower slippers in uniform. Me :Hi Bobby! Bobby how's it going good to see you. And that was it no autograph no fan nonsense just there For the Love of the Game
@@hankkingsley2976 wow so u met Bobby Cox, nice!!!!!!
The snowflakes would melt in the 1980s after a few seconds.
Lasorda is very overrated, and there have been a lot of better managers than him both before and after his career
what a legend. i used to watch all the WGN games in the 80s with harry and steve stone.
