Today marks three years since we lost Lynn (Moyer) Attwood. In the Autumn of 1963, I held auditions for my first folk music group, “The Pretorians”. When I heard Lynn sing I was completely blown away. She was fourteen years old at the time and had an incredibly mature voice. Today, June 28, 2021 marks one year since the incredibly multi-talented Lynn Attwood left us. I did this arrangement of John Denver’s “Leavin’ On A Jet Plane” specifically for Lynn in the early 1970s. Another great song Tom! Miss seeing your shows!
My wife and I first became aware of Tom May when, while attending a music festival at Ft. Omaha, we heard a man behind us in the audience singing with a most marvelous voice - and then found out later in the evening that he was running the entire show in addition to being a most engaging singer. We have been hooked on him and his songs ever since, but unfortunately moved from Omaha to Memphis before Tom's performance with the Omaha Symphony took place. Nine years ago, we moved to Portland and rediscovered Tom May. He still is still going strong and remains a most marvelous singer and guitarist and songwriter. We see him perform around the Portland area whenever we can! These recordings from the Omaha Symphony bring back very fond memories stretching over 40 years!
