Great vid! Do you have your de-squeeze settings handy? Timeline settings and how you de squeezed the 6k open gate?
Can you show us how it performs on a full frame camera? I own a Sony A7iv and A6700. I want to know if I can use it with both cameras for mainly real estate videography
because you didn't show any talking head, just VoiceOver I found that the video dragged on after 4 min
Of all the reviews on RUclips of this lens, yours is by far the most thorough and the best. The only thing that may have been helpful to add is to explain that this is a 35mm FF equivalent, and that you shot the video at 35mm. I will get this along with the Sony 11mm f/1.4 and skip the Sigma 16mm for now.
I don't own this lens yet, just doing my research thus watching your contents on said subject. Thank for your opinions - much convincing!
this is insane, what tripod did you use or recommend to support this lens?
❤❤❤❤❤thanksss
Liking my G9ii. The 100-400mm (200-800mm equivalent) is a great balance for size and performance.
I also have vignette issue with the 50mm in 6k FF open gate mode.. Do you have it too ? Understand for the 35mm but why on a full frame 50mm ??
Color is greate!
My biggest complaint about this lens is the about the zoom ring. Why did sigma decide to put the zoom ring in a different position than their new 24-70 DG DN II f/2.8 lens!?
The 'i' series from Sigma is by far the best looking line of lenses I've ever come across. I'm buying one alongside the Sony a7c II right now on Amazon. I'm so very excited!
No one talks about the difference in grip between the OG G9 and the S5, S5ii, G9ii. The original was noticeably better. It was a fatter grip that protruded more. this is still a really good grip but just not as good as the original.
Are you using an ND filter when shooting video?
Is the anamorphic desqueeze setting available in the photo settings too or can I only use this setting for video?
Nice photography. Did you take any HDR/bracketed shots? The scenery looked so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your review.
I own g9ii for neatly a year. I had the orihinal g9 before. I enjoy the g9ii very much for the reasons you have mrntioned and more. Excrlkent camera and image quality.
What is your setup? your videos look great.
Joyful video! 🎉 Austria is beautiful 🤩 so, in the end, which can do you prefer? S5IIX or It’s little brother? Thanks! Subbed
No links for the lens tho
how what resolution did you export especially for youtube
I’m confused between this lens and Sony 11mm F1.8 to use for real estate mainly. Any advise?
sigma is more versatile while sony is faster, pick your poison 👍 for me Ill go for sigma.
You don’t need f1.8 to shoot real estate. Even f2.8 is way more than enough. The wider focal length of the sigma lens is more useful especially when shooting in small bathrooms and kitchens and rooms.
Which gimbal have you used in the demonstration?
What do you think about Sirui 23mm f1.2? Which one will be best for videos?
THANKS FOR SHARING!!! GOOD VIDEO AND BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES... BEST REGARDS. NANO.
beginning montage sold me, that's all I needed. Thanks
Everyone talks about Sigma APS-C lenses, but I think they kinda suck. The actual QUALITY of the lenses, and their optical properties are good, yeah, but their actual DESIGN sucks. The are like the most basic, plasticy lenses out there, and the tiny size they can get by stripping all the features makes them have a less professional appearance. I just don't think they are doing themselves any favors. They can obviously make excellent glass, so it sucks that they squandered the potential on these lenses. They could be SO much better, just add a focus switch, a custom button, and aperature ring, and then they WOULD be the best APS-C lenses. I mean, look at the Viktrox Pro 27mm and 75mm lenses. They pretty much BLOW anything from Sigma totally out of the water. They feel like mini G master lenses, not little plastic toys like Sigma, and are much faster lenses. All while being around the same price as Sigma. For the cost, I see zero reason to buy the Sigma 23mm and 33mm over the Viltrox 27mm f1.2. Once Viltrox fills out more of a range of focal lengths with these Pro lenses, Sigma is gonna be in trouble. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Sigma lenses give bad results. Just that the lens design itself is bad, and feels too stripped down and basic for the price. Even if they were like $100 more expensive, I would gladly pay more for an actually well made lense. At least add af/mf button or custom button, and an aperature ring, and they wouldn't feel so stripped down and basic. Plus they have this weird fascination with trying to "miniaturize" these lenses to the detriment of function. Yeah, you're gonna have a small lens when you rip out all the features/functions. It's like ripping the seats, dash, and radio out of a car to make it "compact". Yeah, goal accomplished, but now it sucks. The only reason Sigma is this popular is from a monopoly. I mean, you don't really have a choice with Sony if you need these focal lengths in an f1.4 or faster lens with good optical quality. Sony APS-C lenses kinda suck, Viltrox doesn't offer Pro lenses in a large range, and those Chinese Amazon lenses are worthless. Leaves you stuck with Sigma, and they know it. So they put minimum effort in these lenses, cause they're one of the only acceptable options. I just find it frustrating because Sigma has the POTENTIAL to be some of the best lenses, but they make them suck while also have really good glass, so you're willing to deal with all the negatives, instead of just making them good ALL AROUND.
The footage looks absolutely crazy. Don’t apologize for that quality especially without an ND filter.
Would love to use on komodo/gimbal work with autofocus, the lightweight sigma RF 10-15 and 18-50 aps-c (with FF crop 15-27mm and 27-75mm) Any news?
Is there something similar to a Zf with 28-400mm f4-8? Do people use the dedicated shutter and ISO dials on the Zf or just get it for the look and end up just use the front for shutter and rear dials for ISO more often which means even just want to shoot with small lenses, the Z6III will make more sense with the better grip and even better EVF plus these dials provide similar tactile experience with addition of a lens with aperture ring, hence don't need to get Zf but Sony A7R V which has a prism shape VF and flat top design which looks just like a Zf but modern look with bigger grip if one care about aesthetic too? Also what camera and lenses you carry or you just use phone while travel and everyday hangout and situations? I shoot for fun, art, contest and gig if possible tho I haven't done yet, my plan is to get that lens with Zf ith the 28-400mm and a Sony Xperia 1 VI phone (26,24,48,85-170, 2X macro) to be always with me waterproof and macro camera, but is that lens is too big on Zf for everyday and travel usages? Down the line I might get the 14-30 and Voigtländer 50mm F1 if I want to maximize the use of that camera for wider and rare times of bokeh shots but that manual and aesthetic of the lens is tempting! And I love Yellow colour, hope Nikon will make a Yellow colour Zf like they did with the new colour entries on the Zf! 💛
Interesting that it uses the FF body and not the old G9 body. This is smart of them to keep development costs down and drive performance up. Good work, pana.
50 mm for all
This lens is fabulous, until you need to pull focus and you discover it is appalling. Not just bad, it is hideously bad. So while it can technically pull focus with the lens, the focus breathing is so bad, the footage is unusable. The Viltrox 23mm f1.4 has many technical faults but the much lower price, aperture ring, and lack of focus breathing makes it the much better choice for video. For stills photography the Sigma is a better choice, despite the price.
Very nice pictures!! I believe people would appreciate if you could state the stats next to each pictures (aperture, focal length, time, iso).
I fall in love with anamorphic lens, however the price is so expensive. I hope one day I can buy at least one lens for my gear.
How does it perform in video mode with AF on, while pulling ZOOM? To clarify, let's say you are zooming in very slowly from 70mm to 100mm for example, while the subject is moving around. Does it keep the subject in focus, or does it struggle?
wondering about this aswel
hizo mas Peralta cuando se retira en CHIVAS que CHICHARITO SUPERESTRELLA
Which lens were you using with the G9II?
I am currently renting both cameras to decide which one I will purchase. I too am leaning G9ii as well. Having 8 m43 lenses also helps. Top notch content upload
Thanks, means a lot! :)
“and much more compact than its predecessor” What is the predecessor if this one is the first Sigma 70-200 for E mount? did you recicle audio from a different lens review?
Does it have motor sound when focusing?
Not at all!
@@cameracollective9522 yes it does but that's only hearable when you're in a silent room with a dog by your side haha
Király volt Budapestet látni "hengerpanoráma" stílusban! :)
Shall I buy it for my Sony A7iV to resolve 4k60 crop?
yes, it has very small vignetting on full frame mode with my a7siii on active steady shot mode so that combined with the 4k60 crop should work fine
I'm debating this too... i really wanna get a wide lens but the fullframe option are very very expensive. Let me know what you're opinion is on this lens on your a7iv!

A fine video, CC. I have both G9ii and S5iiX and use the G9ii with the longer (150+mm) focal length Olympus lenses and then use the S5iiX with wide to normal focal length lenses. It's like having two identical camera bodies but without the size and weight of long FF lenses. Now if Tamron or Rokinon will just make a 35-150 f2-2.8 zoom in L mount...
Excellent professional review. Thank you
Thanks a lot, appreciated! :)
What are you shooting on? On The talking head?
Sony A7IV
thank you in making my decision strong for buying
