Hey everyone, i have been repairing electronics since 2010. It all started when the iPhone 4 came out. That phone was notorious for breaking especially the BACK. People also knew how easy and simple it was to replace the back. I started working on family and friends devices first. In 2011 i got a job at small electronics repair shop. I've worked there for more then 5 years, and it's where i learned most of my skills. I decided to take the leap of faith and open my own repair store in 2019 which is called willfixit. The willfixit name comes from my name William - and i added fixit at the end to get creative. I unfortunately never documented any of my work on camera, but now i realize how important it is. I decided it's never too late to start. I started youtube in 2020, and will continue to document everything i do now so you guys can see, and as be an inspiration to the next

any tips for heating the board up? i have a hot air station and saw you said 450* and that you went from the bbottem but any tips for it would be appreciated
Hey 450-500C should be good, no tip on the nozzle as well, and air flow around 70 should do the trick. Also put flux on the pins before heating.
@ I have a dial from 0-6 lol, I probably will put a bigger nozzle to increase air flow a bit but I’ll see,

I have m1 chip but no option to access to the terminal. The only thing I can do is to enter to diagnostic mode and open a safari window. How I can do a bypass on this macbook or cant it be done?
Have you tried doing it though a usb?
You should definitely give this guy a raise, he seems really experienced in this area and he speaks with confidence. Definitely want to go out and grab a drink with him.

Hey, Thanks for sharing such a awsm information. I have a macbook pro with intel chip and had a sonoma and when i used the script you mentioned in terminal it worked like a charm. I did create a temp user. But when i restarted it shown me the error of mac support with flashing question mark. So based on this video instructions i cleared the disk abd everything but this time when i installed OS ..it got installed of Catalina. Its strange to get previous version. But i guess thats fine. The major issue is, when i m executing the command given in video its throwing an error as "failed to create file bypass-mdm.sh read only file system" Plesse suggest ....what change i can do
Hey it’s because the OS it came with was catalina most likely… Try installing sonoma again and try bypass?
@willfix1t I tried multiple times installing os but it always go with Catalina. How to install the sonoma there ?
Hello, I have found the way to install the new OS, as if we hold cmd + r it downloads the default recovery based on the laptop but if you hold option + cmd + r then it downloads the latest compatible recovery menu, where we can download the latest os. I have installed the latest os sequtio and I tried running script, this time I got different error as Unable to read dirStatus ....can you suggest something on this ?
@nilesh494kumar if you’re getting that error then it means it’s not free anymore like in the video… it’s $30 now for the bypass… but the success rate is 100%

Is this a kinda old laptop? My friend's laptop was very slow too. It seems that one of Webroot's latest updates has affected its compatibility with some old machines...

@@willfix1tYes! My friend's laptop is around 4-5 years old and all of a sudden had the same problem as yours and even worst.

@@willfix1t Yes. Once I uninstalled Webroot, everything was fine again. The laptop went to a crawl with Webroot installed! to the point that was taking like 20 minutes to show the desktop. After booting the system was still slow and was impossible to work with. At first I thought the problem had to do with a Windows update... Personally I have used Webroot and never had problems. I have just installed a license on my main laptop today and hope to not have any problems in the future.
@Alfredolunafoto1 Wow same issue i was having. I think when you don’t have the license anymore it’s made to do that to your computer. That’s why i thought it was a scam lol

Very familiar with DOS, I used it for decades and still use it all the time. I have a Win9x machine which essentially sits ontop of DOS and I use it all the time for old games etc. But I also have a Linux machine which has DOSBOX, as well as a CD to recover machines from which boots into FREEDOS.

I was going to repair it. but it seems to be working fine. the guy the my dad took it to ended up opening it completely and one side of the screen is popped out from the keyboard. the hinge is now folded but wont fold backwards. what should i do?
ah man ok it definitely needs to be fixed at some point… but you can try folding it while keeping pressure with your hand?
So you have to downgrade to Sonoma, and then you can't update back to Sequoia, or the MDM will come back?? Will a full factory reset get rid of the MDM?
a factory reset will not get rid of it for the newer macbooks, only a bypass will work as of now

Hot air station
If not have a hot air station I used a metal rod not a huge one tiny and heated the end of it with a torch lighter and stuck to the four spots one at a time careful barely hit it with the rod.

I have a similar problem with my iphone 14 pro, i dropped it and since then when i open my phone the screen is fine for half a second, and then more than half of the screen turning white. Is there any solution to fix it without replacing the display?
There is no solution.. white screen is usually permanent

This worked excellent on my M2, but when I go to setup the machine, and sign into Apple ID, I get a "Keychain cannot be found to store "xxxxx". any thoughts?

@@willfix1t I did... when I attempt to sign in to it, I get that keychain error. Im gonna rewipe it and reinstall tomorrow again and try it over and see if I have better luck.
