Elcano Punch! Unofficial Entry in the Spiribam Home Bartender Contest w/ Worthy Park Rum
Hey everyone! I made a new punch, inspired by the Spiribam Home Bartender Contest happening right now! I didn't enter the contest, partly because I have no intention of traveling to Miami in May (Yes, I'm assuming I would have been chosen AND won the contest), so instead I'm giving it to all of you! It's a wonderful libation made with Worthy Park Rum, Liqueur from Clement, Shiso infused Sake, Citrus Essential Syrup, and Black and Hibiscus Tea.
I've done this two ways, one just batched as a punch, and the other is clarified, though I've finished it in my own special style. If you need to see my Semi-Definitive Guide to Milk Clarification, the link is here:

Let's make a fun punch that's super delicious, Bourbon Hibiscus Punch! Who knew that Bourbon, Hibiscus, and Almond would go so well together, creating an amazing drink that works as both a cocktail and as a punch. The second version is a quick clarification, though the punch is slightly different. The Hibiscus shines through deliciously, inviting a second cup! or three! The last version is an e...

Experimental Punch for Tiki Caliente: Peachy Sake Sangria, Royale with Cheese, and that other one
Просмотров 1044 месяца назад
Hey friends, Tiki Caliente is coming up and I've got some exciting punch experiments to go over with you. I took some classics from my old videos and reimagined them, and then went crazy with something I can only describe as 'different'. Peachy Sake Sangria is a simple classic. Just take any Sangria, clarify it, and add Sake to it. The delicate nature of the Sake strikes through in every sip. I...

Included in this video is the easiest recipe, scaled up for large blenders, and down for individual shake blenders, with the only complex part being...

I've also topped this delicious Margarita with Salted Lime Beer Foam using a craft beer from Japan. Check out th...

Guava Marmalade (Clarified) Punch! An awesome and flavorful original cocktail

This delicious punch was created on a whim while cleaning out my pantry. I had too many cans of Guava Marmalade left over from the Chamoyngo Margarita experiments, and I didn't want them to go to waste. Adding in White Grapefruit Juice, Rum, and Curacao (which one?), and then a quick double run through the clarification rig, and here's an amazing clarified punch, both simple and complex, sure t...

Chamoy Mango Tequila = Chamoyngo Margarita. Cocktail Battle Royale Part Two!
Great information. Pisco From Peru is delicious although, Chile has decent ones too it’s still Peru that takes the first place haha. Awesome video
Thanks, my friend! And thanks for subscribing! I wanted to include Chilean Pisco, too, but it would have been way too long. This video was fun (and delicious) to research.
Happy Havana babe 😘
This is the year it takes off! I know it!
The coconut eggnog from the kitchenaid looks awesome! I never think about aged eggnog until it's too late, so that's a perfect recipe!
That coconut nog was surprisingly good, so that will probably become my default going forward. I'm aging that batch right now for new years, but I may bring the ingredients with me just in case I need to make a fresh batch instead. When you make nog this year, make twice as much and store the extra for next year!
I love the idea of the salted caramel foam! I've been brainstorming some mocktail ideas for January, and I think the non-alcoholic Corona would be perfect to use in the foam. BTW, if you had an affiliate link for the iSi whip, I'd totally buy one without having to search Amazon myself (so much work, lol)
Lol, once I get a few more subscribers... Also, get the small one. It's easier to deal with.
@@BitterSteve I'll keep that in mind for sure!
that was exactly what i was looking for
Awesome! I hope you subscribed! I took one of these a step further and made one of my fave-crazy cocktails - The Royale With Cheese. See if that fits in with what you are looking for!
Great drinks and perfect glasses for the holidays too.
Oh yeah! Vintage Southern Comfort Steamboat glasses. Should I get them out for the holidays?
Tell me about the BGM please
Hey Sunshine! The first song is "From East to West" by El Flaco Collective, the harder interlude is "Droppin Buckets" from Nyck Caution, and the last song is "Groundhog Day" from Auxjack. I source these from a music licensor called Epidemic Sound.
That’s a good drink 🍹
All Three!
Your videos are fun to watch. This one is really 🆒 Ju 💕 😊
The cocktail is really good, too!
The sake sangria was my favorite
Oh yeah, that was nice, though I think I should have used a Nigiri Sake, but that would have defeated the purpose of the clarification. I was surprised by how many people loved the Goat Cheese cocktail!
ummm yeah ... idk bout this one.. its a bit outside of my 'sane' realm of thinking.. but you do you boo..
Awww, no one has ever called me 'boo' before... I like it! Thanks!
I can’t wait to try all of them 🤤
Still have a gallon of Sangria left!
Serious question: why are you an insufferable dick whenever you comment on other bartending channels? There’s no need for it, especially considering your production quality is nothing special in the RUclips space.
The technical (albeit old school) term for oleo Saccharum with added juice is Sherbet
Yes, and the other term commonly used is 'cordial', but both of those have more regular definitions. 'Oleo Saccharum Simple Syrup' breaks my spell check and is also redundant, so I broke down "essential oil simple syrup' to Essential Syrup.
What are those red things? Shameful.

We have to dance when we have this drink babe
I didn't know you liked Pina Coladas. We should escape to O'Malley's for Coladas and dancing!
Loved the whole story going on in your video , thoroghly enjoyed it! Subscribed!!
Awesome! I'm glad you liked it. The first part with my parents: totally true. The second half with Velma and Daphne, um... I'm checking out your channel right now.
@@BitterSteve I'm a huge Scooby Doo fan anyway especially the series from the 80s!!
What material is the nut milk bag made of?
It's just some type of cloth, similar to cheesecloth. I prefer this because it has a tighter and more consistent weave.
💩 content
Love that blood and sand riff! I've ordered those a couple times, and I always remember thinking "the orange juice does nothing for this." I like the sound of the cherry shrub versin.
Yeah, that version of the shrub with the lemon and clove was ridiculously delicious, and I recommend trying it out even if all that's left is frozen cherries and cider vinegar. The addition of the zest and spice knocks it out of the park, and there's probably a hundred more cocktails out there that will shine with this as the base.
I really wanna drink these cocktails after watching your video, seriously babe #cocktails#cherry#shrub drink
There's plenty of shrub left! Anytime you want!
I have no idea how you ended up in my feed... Lucky me, I guess. This is an excellent demonstration! I've had good luck making #24 English milk punch from the Jerry Thomas book - which is considerably more complicated than your Fish-house punch. But there are several "best practices" to take from your work that will make it easier and, hopefully, better. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting! BTW - The English milk punch gets it's rum funk by using Batavia Arrack. It's interesting stuff to put it kindly, but it works in the mix.
It's awesome that you found my video, and even more awesome that it was useful for you!! Double Awesome!!! I wonder if it wouldn't be prudent to use the boiling water, spices, and sugar to make a syrup, and then cool it before adding in the rest. I'd be afraid the heat would negatively affect the pineapple juice. Ahhh, probably doesn't matter because of the clarification. Batavia Arrack is one of those secret ingredients everyone should be using.
Great video! Would appreciate a written recipe in the description
Yeah, no problem. I probably said in the video that I was gonna do that.
@@BitterSteve Thank you!
great video, keep up the good work! looking forward to hearing about coconut milk clarification
Thanks! It should be coming soon! (That punch won 'best cocktail' at an event a few months ago)
The term "Clarified milk" will haunt me forever
Haha! Haunt your dreams with deliciousness!
Great details on the process and knowledge about clarification info. I really enjoyed the video. Bravo. #rum#clarification#punch
Thanks! You should come over tonight and try it out! Netflix and Punch?
@BitterSteve I would rater have a smaller bottle of something like Espolon than a mixto like Sauza - but I appreciate the 12.50 tequila in the spirit of the video! I love trying to see how cheaply I can make a decent cocktail.
I'm sure if I used Sauza with a bottle of Margarita Mix I could've gotten it down to 50 cents a drink, but who wants that?! I stand by my belief that a better Tequila doesn't always make a better Margarita.
Great vid! I haven't worked up the nerve to try this yet. I don't know why I think it takes nerve, it's just a lot of work and time. I love the way you went so far in depth about why you chose the rums you did.
The worst part about clarification, is when you go all the way through the process, and it's still cloudy. Now when that happens, I know it's my own fault for cutting corners or doing something stupid. Of course, even a cloudy punch still tastes good!
I want four more too 😘
I'll whip us up a batch tonight! I'll even splurge on a nicer tequila; I think I can spare a few extra coins.
This is super interesting! Sounds like the Love and Murder worked out really well the the red pepper Campari. I wonder if the pepper would stand out even more with yellow Chartreuse instead of green. I would love to try them side by side. Thanks for such a cool idea.
Let me know if you try this out! It's super easy to make with lots of interesting possibilities. I may try the Yellow Chartreuse this week (using my parents as guinea pigs, as usual).
Great video! 🎉 and I will have remaining peppers for dinner 🍽️ 😋
We should've put those on our burgers!
Was doing some research in anticipation for my review of Part 2, and I'm glad I came across your vid to get a better look at these drinks in execution. Great job!
Thanks! This was a fun video to make, and I'm looking forward to (having the time to) watch part 2. I just subscribed to your channel
Bravo 🙌
This looks very interesting. I like guava juice so I got excited from the title. Hehe It"s awesome how well the clarification worked out. Great job. Cheers!
Thanks! Guava Marmalade is closer in flavor to Guava Paste than Guava Juice, so it's probably not what you would expect, though it's still a delicious punch!
@@BitterSteve thanks for the explanation. I will try to find guava marmalade and give this drink a try. Cheers!
Great video. And the black pepper syrup looks like something I really want to try. Now I have plans for what to do later into the week. 😉 Cheers!
Thanks! I had a lot of fun making this video (drinking these cocktails!). I'm surprised there aren't more recipes out there with Black Pepper Syrup, and it seems to go best with fruit cocktails.
@@BitterSteve thanks for the extra info. Appreciate it and hope will manage to try the syrup soon. Cheers!
HAHAHAHAH! I love your review of it when you taste it. Thank you for the honesty and the creativity.
Thanks! This one was fun to make, and I had hoped the cocktail came out better, but wow did that booze taste like grilled meat, just not in a good way.
This video is absolutely wonderful. Love it 🥰
Yeah, this one was fun to make. Delicious, too!
Black Pepper syrup. love that idea. can your ever put too much bitters lol. lots of great use of the pepper syrup. thanks for sharing. cheers
Thanks! This was a fun video to make (and research!). I don't know why Cognac and Peychaud's worked so much better than Bourbon and Angostura, and I'm sure there's a hundred more cocktails I need to try with Black Pepper Syrup.
@@BitterSteve yes at least 100. Do you have a discord?
