I’m a cycling enthusiast, with a love of racing cyclocross and mountain bike. For the past few years, I’ve been sharing my knowledge and experience through coaching and blogging, so am looking forward to sharing some videos of my latest adventures (with some archive videos thrown in because I think they are too good not to share).

Last year, I attempted the Rapha Festive 500 for the first time, and I decided to try it again this year. I rode 433km of Strava Art within the 523km I completed for my Festive 500.

Very nice and interesting video you created here about Cyprus,. I actually live in Limassol, but occasionally visit Paphos to do some drone shots! New Sub, keep up the good work!! :)
Thanks. My mum used to have family in Cyprus so visited a lot when she was younger, but it is the first time I have been and it was really nice.

amazing ride and so satisfying to watch ! i learned on a 20" 6 months ago, then got a 29" this week for longer distances. today i had the seatpost and tube shortened so i can ride it (cause i'm short), it's much more stable and comfortable than i expected !

Amazing effort love the Leicestershire roads so miss them I went really lazy over Xmas weather was just poor up here in Hastings 🥺
Thanks. The weather wasn’t too bad in Leicester, just grey most of the time. I avoided the really windy weather on New Year’s Eve

Cool video. It's always interesting to see cycle infrastructure in other parts of the country. Though I find the attitude of drivers is the most important factor in how enjoyable cycling is, as I feel less safe and comfortable here in London than I did in Aberdeen, where there are far fewer specific cycle facilities

@@MrAnon-2024 I only really started doing evening rides in the dark a couple of years ago after I graduated from uni and started working until 5. I quite enjoy it
Looks good. I would like to try cyclocross / cross-country. I was looking at a Trek Boone, but it only seems to take up to 38mm tyres - doesn't seem very wide? PS - I have just sent a follow request on Strava :)
@@cinemashow-5 Thanks. Cyclocross is great fun - it was the first discipline of cycling that I started racing. My cyclocross bike (Liv Brava) has 33mm tyres, although I think it can take up to 45mm tyres (the latest model can, I didn’t look specifically for the version that I’ve got). For UCI races, the maximum tyre width allowed is 33mm but it doesn’t matter for local races.
@@rebeccalaurel1471 My research today taught me that the bigger the clearance between frame/fork and tyre, then the better the mud clears away.
Nice, well done. Where was this? It looks more suitable for a cyclocross bike than MTB - or did you need the MTB for the woods?
@@cinemashow-5 This was at West Glebe Park in Corby. Most of the Friday Night Summer Series courses could be done on a cyclocross bike, but obviously not in the mountain bike race. The woods would just be a bit more comfortable with a mountain bike - there is a cyclocross race at this venue, but I’ve never done it so I don’t know how much the course changes.
@@rebeccalaurel1471 Ah, I see - so the race category is MTB therefore all riders must use an MTB. I was assuming riders could choose whatever type of bike they wanted (facepalm).
@@cinemashow-5 Yes, the Friday Night Summer Series that I race in is a mountain bike race (so you need to use a mountain bike). But for most local league cyclocross races, you could use a mountain bike if you wanted to / that’s all you had.
Which company are u now in and where u done ur undergraduate degree though which which field got site or bim
@@Adnan_147 I did my degree at the University of Nottingham and now work for a consultancy company in Leicester in the highways team. A lot of the projects that I am working on are still in the design stage so I’ve only been on the occasional site visit to help with the design. I’ve mainly been doing the 2D design in AutoCAD, but I’m starting to look at the 3D design in Civil3D now.
Alignments, profiles, super elevation, assemblies & sub-assemblies, data shortcuts & Corridors, cross sections, earthwork quantities........ The cool stuff to work on, there was even a cool way to use profiles for building special ditches in cut situations.
Thought you may have hired a bike and got at least one ride in 😉
@@MrAnon-2024 There were a lot of hire bikes around the city but it was a bit too hot for me to think about going for a bike ride

Nicely done - I’m off for some winter sun in Cyprus too! Will be there most of Jan and like suggested above plan to get come cycling in.
It's a really interesting route, for ages I hadn't realised tha High Cross was the centre of Roman England as the Watling Street (A5) and Fosse Way cross at that point. Excellent coffee at Masons coffee van at Fosse Meadows if you are out that way - Great video 🙂
@@DavidVeasey-b3p Thanks. I often use the road section of Fosse Way south of the A5 but I’d quite like to explore more of the route.
Thanks for sharing the video. Scotland is a fantastic place to visit, especially with a bike! When you get a chance, take a ride through the Cairngorms or anywhere on the West coast. In particular, ride over Bealach na Bà towards Applecross. You'll love it.
