What size line stop would you recommend for 8lb line?
I would generally use a medium size stop. See the description for a link to the stops used in the video.
Pellet name please
They are soft hookers from mainline baits.
super 🥰
What about hard pellets?
For hard pellets you want to use a banded hooklength. You can buy these pre tied from your local tackle shop.
@@JP.MatchFishing Ok, thank you!
Can this be done without putting that knot in the end of the elastic ?
Top job - great video
Brilliant 👏 love to watch em 👏
Are the besds sold separately? Just gkt two guru method feeders and i dont have anything to stop it sliding round?
Yes you can purchase various different types of beads to best suit your feeder. Speak to the local tackle shop they'll have what you're looking for.
Thinking about making them out of nurf bullets if it works
Wonderful videos. A real help. Please make a video on how you made your rig board. That would be very useful. Thanks
Thanks for the comment! I'm hoping to do some more videos again soon. Unfortunately I'm stuck without a PC at the moment and work commitments are taking up alot of time! Hopefully more content in the near future 🤞🤞🤞
Thankyou needed this video
Glad you found it useful!
Excellent, thanks
Always remember to wet your line folks 👍
How long are you making the overall rig lengh?
It would be roughly around 6ft + as I wouldn't use the rig in depths any deeper than about 5ft on a calm day.
@@JP.MatchFishing thankyou, makes sense
Are we fishing or raving 👀
Brilliant video, very clear and concise, i loved the fact it was so close up as i have never seen these before. the close up detail is very important to me.
Thank you for the feedback. It's really appreciated!
Good Tip although I tend to connect the feeder to the line by a 2" connector with clip. Keep them tips coming. Cheers
Thanks great advice
Brilliant thank you so helpful

Brilliant thanks for the video. 👍🙏🎣🎣
How do you know what size silicone to use for different floats please?
I don't believe there's a written rule on the exact sizes to use, But generally the finer the float stem the smaller the silicone diameter you can use. As long as your silicone holds the float firmly on the mainline without it moving to easily you should have no problems whilst fishing. Hope this helps 🤞
Thanks for the video. When would you choose a spread bulk as opposed to a bulk together above the hook length? Thanks
I would personally only really use a fixed bulk pattern for some margin rigs and jigga rigs. The spread bulk helps to create a curve in your line when fishing on the deck aiding with bite indication. Jamie Hughes has spoken in depth about this on other videos. Hope this helps, thanks for watching. 🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣
@@JP.MatchFishing It helps very much, thanks for the explanation
No problem at all 👍

Is there a general rule of thumb as to when to use a 4" hook length or a 6" when pole fishing? Thanks
I think there're many different reasons to use different hooklengths. Things like bait presentation, target species, rig type can all play a part in selecting your hooklength. I know some of the bigger channels have covered this topic in detail, but the most important thing is using something that you have confidence in. Keep it simple. 🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟
Thanks🎉
Quite a task on the bank .
It does take some practice, but I will regularly shot up rigs on the bank before a match. Once hooked up on your topkit it makes it much easier. 🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟
Excellent video 👍
Thank you 🙏
Thanks, any tips on getting the line into the jaws of the shot please. I'm okay when using stotz but struggle with shot because they're round. Thanks
Yes they definitely can be trickier than stotz. I find that slowly rolling the shot between my finger and thumb until it traps against the tensioned line makes it a bit easier. Practice is key! 🤞
Using a finger or thumbnail to open the shot a bit wider can make it easier to put on the line.
Thanks for the tips

Could you show where you connect the bottom loop to your rig board , please.
Thanks for watching! I use a homemade rig board with a pin at the one end. I use some old pole elastic then with a rig hook onto the loop to keep it under tension. Hope this helps 🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟
@@JP.MatchFishing Could you possibly show or send a picture to show as I can’t quite grasp your rig hook.
If you drop me an email I will try and send across a couple of photos today. You should find the address on the channel page under the about channel tab.
Thanks for the video, why would you use a 6" hook length in the margin when it's probably less than 4ft deep. Only asking because as a general rule of thumb I would use a 4" hook length for depths of up to 4ft and 6" for anything deeper. Thanks
I prefer using the longer hooklengths in the margin as I believe the carp can become spooked sometimes if they bump into a heavy bulk of shot whilst feeding, also your bites will normally be extremely positive so I don't think you need the shot as close to your hooklength to see the bites. This is only my opinion, if something works for you, and you have confidence in it, don't change it!!! 🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟
Thanks, very interesting

Nice little video. I use the same for bulk and droppers. Or if I want a strung out, I got 6 no 10s and 2 no 9s
Thank you! 🙏
Why 5 x #9 for the bulk and not 2 x #6 + 1 x #9 or 1 x #3
Years back the UK government actually banned the use of lead split shot bigger than No. 8 to protect wildlife from lead poisoning. Although nearly all shot are now non toxic I personally never use a split shot bigger than size 8 on a still water. The use of smaller shots now seems to be more common practice when fishing commercial waters. Hope this helps 🎣🎣🎣

How do you know what size silicone for different floats please?
Manufacturers will specify the stem diameter of your float. But personally keeping a selection of various silicone to hand when making up your rigs will cover you for nearly all eventualities.
Check out the full match fishing rig guide here - 🎣www.youtube.com/@JP.MatchFishing 🎣
Can I ask please as a newbie. How do you know what shit and how much for each float please? Thanns
A shot conversion chart will give you rough idea of what to shot each float up with but the best method is to test out while fishing to give you a true reflection
Check out the full match fishing basics playlist here - 🎣www.youtube.com/@JP.MatchFishing 🎣
Do you not need shot in the line then to sink bait or does weight of pellet do that I assume? Thanks
Personally I'd not use any shot down the line as I'd rather a slower fall of the pellet when fishing this method shallow. Hope this helps, tight lines. 🎣🎣
