    This work must be avoided if you want to lose the interference between the crankcase and the bearing. The correct way is to heat the crankcase to expand the aluminum and thus extract the bearing.

    Hi there. I’m currently doing a rs125 project. One quick question you may be about to help me with. • @romainquiban5469
      @romainquiban5469 5 лет назад

    • @romainquiban5469
      @romainquiban5469 5 лет назад

      Klawz ah okay, well theoretically you cannot remove the crankshaft before removing the cylinder. It’s because you have to split the crankcase to reach the crankshaft and both part of the crankcase are linked through the stud bolts that maintain in position the cylinder. Then, maybe you will have to use a grinder to disassemble your cylinder. Good luck ;)

    • @klawz1801
      @klawz1801 5 лет назад

      Romain Quiban would you say it’s worth it? The bike is £350 and that’s the only thing wrong with it, was thinking I could lift the cylinder up a bit then put a thick piece of metal in the gap and then hammer the piston down and then repeat until it’s all the way out

    • @romainquiban5469
      @romainquiban5469 6 лет назад

      Gears are gearbox lifetime except the plastic one for the water pump that you have to change every 16000km. I don’t know about bearings. I replaced them because I could hear noises from gearbox at deceleration.

    • @romainquiban5469
      @romainquiban5469 6 лет назад

      Well you should measure your squish to know that ;) If you still have the original con rod there is no problem to put the thinner gasket.

    • @Tiwey
      @Tiwey 3 года назад

      its quite late to say it now. but litering out your engine removes the need to check the squish. and its more precise. all you gotta do is calculate the "geometric compression"
