Easy Foot Sweeps 🧹- BJJ Concepts
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
When it comes to foot sweeps, people ask me all the time, “How do you do that?” Here’s are some key details I am looking for when I go for the technique. Also, shout out to Prof. Elijah (@ednnero) as he informed someone that his head was down (the person thrown, not Prof. Elijah) when I was able to pull off the technique. Upon further inspection, I realized the role the head being down plays as...

Why you need a Grappling Dummy: BJJ Counselor Podcast Ep 45
Hey bro keep posting these! 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Thanks bro...will do!
One of the very few I have seen demonstrate this variation.
Prof. Elijah has a lot of good pointers for finishing techniques.
*watched video in the parking lot waiting for boxing class*
Very cool! I appreciate it. 💯🤙🏾
Cool video!! 😁😁🫶🏾
Thank you! I appreciate it.
@@mouthguardcomic You’re welcome!! ☺️⭐️

Thank you!!!
@@mouthguardcomic You’re welcome!!! ☺️⭐️
Nice. In Canada, we would say that you almost got “jerseyed”, like in a hockey fight where the guy pulls your jersey over your head and feeds you some punches. Difference here was that you were in clear control on top of the guy and you were setting up a nasty shoulder lock. Nice work!😊
Thanks! I would agree, lol. I couldn't see at the end, the only thing I knew was that I wanted that arm.
Ude garami
Yes, it was in the description in parenthesis.
The old magician cloak trick! 😂Nice technique!👍
Thanks! Yes, he almost made me disappear, but I pulled off the sub just in time. 🤣
Hahaha😂😂😂 you really are a comic!
@@ayannaandmouse 🤣😂🤣
Was watching some of Kayla’s fights and came across this. Thanks for sharing I’m gonna try this next time I spar
Man, this upgraded my game after I learned it. It is one of my favorite throws and most people are caught by surprise because they don't realize they are in trouble due to you not stepping in as deep. Then it's too late.
@@mouthguardcomic fs most people would feel somewhat comfortable in that position definitely good to know
@@pyromatics7187 Yes sir...
Just got Mats watching this makes me want to get a dummy
Awesome! It’s worth it.
@@mouthguardcomic did you fill yours? I bought the prefilled and its too stiff to do anything on it.
@@chrisdopez8443 I filled it myself, if you are talking about the Grappling Smarty. It is stiff in the beginning, but it will quickly become pliable. After a while, you may have to add some polyfil and adjust it. I use mine almost everyday and trust me, it will not stay stiff. Just don’t become disappointed and work with it as all of the videos of people using it is what you will be doing soon as well and the benefits are multiple.
@@mouthguardcomic this is for the smarty how does it become more pliable if the t-shirts that are put it are holding it in place to prevent too much bending. The prefilled one I bought weights over 40lbs, how much does yours weigh and what did you use to fill it?
@@chrisdopez8443 I used Polyfil (the brand) and cut up clothes and rags. I followed their instructions. I stuffed Polyfil in the arms up to the middle of the forearms and halfway up the calves. That allows the limbs to be light enough to stay in the air when supine or to hold its arms up when in sitting guard. I stuffed the rest with cut up cloth and stuffed it to my taste. I have the XL version and it weighs 55 lbs. From what I remember of their stuffing methods, they use cut up rags and not full t-shirts, etc. That would not allow you to stuff it tightly. However, do what you can on it now and continue to work on it. It should loosen up soon.
I like your video! 😁⭐️
Thank you 🙏🏾!
@@mouthguardcomicYou’re welcome! 😄🫶🏾
Bit risky, I would mount you.
Super nice cue, I've been struggling this for years.
Thanks! I practice foot sweep motions almost every day (without a partner). I only do it a few times just to keep the mechanics fresh. It becomes automatic when you roll with someone.
Im gonna start bjj really soon i cant wait
You'll love it. Be careful though, it's addictive.🙂
@@mouthguardcomic thanks i will
Sasae-Tsuri-Komi-Ash I believe Great way to do it with the drop !
You're right, standing without dropping would be that. I drill that almost daily in my routine. With the drop, I wonder if that changes the name? We reviewed De-Ashi-Barai, Sasae Tsurikomi, and Hiza Guruma along with this collar drag drop in one session and then these guys started hitting the collar drag drop with an astounding regularity.
Nice takedown! Smooth!✨👏🏽✨
Thanks ✌!
LOVE it! Nothing like that feeling of pulling something new off for the first time.
Absolutely!
Not for White belt
What is , “not for white belt? “
@@mouthguardcomic knee bar
@@nakrak8847 The Cloverleaf is not a knee bar. It is a calf slicer. It forces the shin against the back of the calf.
@@nakrak8847 However, you can knee bar white belts. You can also heel hook white belts. You can do whatever you want as long as everyone is in agreement. The most important thing is to be careful and to not rip or go fast on submissions.
Nice takedown! You are the KING of takedowns! 👑
Ahh, I'm working on it. Thanks!

What's the company of the dummy?
TeJay Grappling Dummy...
It’s some bad one armed dudes out here
😂😊😂🙏🏾
What is he tapping to? Could you explain? Thanks!
It is a lateral knee bar. With the leg upright and toes pointed upward all you have to do push your hips out onto the side of the knee. Actually, it is more painful than a regular knee bar and you have to tap quicker. It looks like it might not be one, but it is. It is a part of the leg lock regimen we do from the 411 (or saddle) position as well (heel hook, knee bar and lateral knee bar).
@@mouthguardcomic Awesome, thanks so much!
@@grizzlydynamics No problem!
Nice roll to a kneebar
What's up Anthony! Yeah, it was a nice one.
How to video?

🤣Finally, you get it! Thanks brother!
I can be as mean as I want and nobody will cry about it 😂
Exactly! But be aware, my Grappling Smarty has punched me several times when I had him in guard, lol. You'll find out if you get one.
I like your video, it’s really entertaining and cool!
Ahhh! Thank you so much!

Is this the same thing as a whizzer?
Yes, I definitely used a whizzer. In Judo this throw is an Uki Goshi (half a hip throw).
@@mouthguardcomic thank you for the response I learned a new judo term today!🫶
@@oldirtytrezzo2981 Not s problem!
Very nice
Thanks 🤙🏾!
Yes that’s not how u do things. Lame
Some would say your response is. Belts and stripes were handed out, each person was applauded and congratulated by the class and those who earned belts gave a speech. This was the last event and it is not mandatory. Before this ceremony, others tested for their stripes and since I am a brown belt, I had to make it through a forty minute gauntlet where a fresh person comes in every minute with no break. (We also have to stand up at the beginning of each round.)
this lame man.....glad our gym don't do this. we just make you roll with everyone that pitches on the day without stopping, you learn from it......this you learn your mates are dicks
Napoleon thinks he really got ‘em
Interesting insult that you would keep to yourself if you knew him. Anyway, it is voluntary and people do not have to participate.
So brown belts are just dicks
I like it!💪🏼
Much respect sir!
This shit outdated
It's not
Its perfect

Hahahahaha the bald dude got 10 shots in.

You celebrate by getting spanked by a bunch of grown dudes 😂
I'm very traditional. When I earned my belts, they stood in class fashion bowed, clapped and congratulated me.
