Great video. You are the first that I have come across which clearly states that SN has some vertical and needs an uninterrupted line. This makes sense when you think about where their place in the yin-yang spectrum, between DC and FN, which both have verticality to them. Also I like the point of being able to breathe in the clothing vs. feeling restricted or in a cage, but at the same type not having the clothes so loose that they hide the body. That is a fine balance, which I think is quite an art to master. I thought that I was FN because I do have some vertical at 5'7, but the FN lines really overwhelms me, and I do need that touch of yin in my look, so I finally feel I have found my Kibbe home 😌

Thanks for such an in-depth video. I really appreciated the detailed analysis of the outfits, it is especially important to know not only what suits you, but what does not and why it is that way. I am confused however, as I am an SD but with summer color palette, thus high contrast does not suit me. Anyway, nice video, thanks!

I want to really thank you. I am a soft classic, but some combinations looked weird on me and I didn't know why. It was so frustrating. It seems I have a gamine essence. It really shows in my face, with prominent cheek bones and large eyes. I need to be careful not to look drained with "classic" colors. Thank you so so much!

I sorta disagree with you. none of these women have pure Ethereal and have also kinda strong secondary essence, so they can work with their secondary believably. Angelic is more of a aesthetic of Ethereal, but it isnt limited to juxtapose Ethereal as dark and gloomy. Dark and gloomy is more of the Ethereal and Dramatic combination in equal measure. Thats why it works on Cate Blanchet or Tilda Swinton, but not on Lisa Bonnet who has strong Natural essence as secondary. The rest of the video I agree with you.

Very thorough video. I appreciate noting how Kibbe’s style suggestions should also not be taken as strict rules since one should also be considering coloring & essence. I am a Dark Winter and a SN with a dominant Natural essence, and find lighter colors other than a pure optic white to wash me out a lot. My essence makes a high contrast makeup look clownish on me though, and I do better with something medium contrast.

Which Kibbe body types look good on no make-up make-up look and subtle make-up?

This was so helpful - anything I've found re: flamboyant naturals usually shows an extremely sinewy Cameron Diaz as example, which is unhelpful for those, like me, who is not stick thin. The examples you chose really highlight the athletic frame and healthy, more heavy muscle that this type seems to typify. I was unsure if I was a soft natural before because I do have more thickness, but looking at this it is the athletic bluntness I'm seeing, not the slightly romantic softness of a soft natural.... thank you for being so thorough in your guides, you've done really great work!!

I definitely am flamboyant gamine but I usually don’t enjoy wearing a lot of the recommended clothes. I don’t enjoy fitted items, and too much detail can look like I’m wearing a costume. Often the recommendations are too funky for me. Especially dresses. I don’t like mini length and fitted styles, but the ones that are comfortable are not as flattering. It’s a never ending struggle. It’s usually an issue with function over form.

I'm a gamine for sure. I don't have enough softeness to be a soft gamine, but my hips are wide enough to be accommodated. Flapper dresses don't look good on me because of that. Overall I can use most of the FG recommendations. But I have to adapt to my case.

Anyone have advice on how to not look “dated” or older than I am dressing this way? I’m 35 and want a “fresher” look rather than mimicking old Hollywood man-eater diva style. I often feel like a golden girl from the early 90’s.

What if you are a dramatic classic with low contrast Features? Dark lips for example never suit me. same with dark hair.
