A good client of mine brought me his 2017 E300 with a misfire on cylinder 1. The diagnosis landed him at a Mercedes Dealership with a bill for $20,000! Mercedes engine M274 has a known problem of the Cylinder 1 and 4 Pistons cracking because a bad wrist pins used on the pistons. Cylinder 1 and 4 run the hottest. That's the reason they fail before cylinders 2 and 3.

If your Mercedes 2008-2014 W204 C207 R172 has a failed Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) in the unlocked position. You don't have to go through the labor of removing the whole steering column. If you're ESL failed in the unlocked position. 100% unlocked. That means you can move your wheels all the way to either side. Additionally, there are no metal clicking noises when you move the steering wheel. Then you're in luck. You can leave the ESL in the steering column. That's right. You don't have to remove the ESL from the steering column. You do need to disconnect the electrical connect...

Mercedes 2008-2014 C class No Crank No Start. You do have AC on lights. Not the ESL, maybe the ECM.

Hey bro i am facing the same issue with my Mercedes e280cdi 2007 | went to a car wash to give it the clean under body wash and after driving it back to home, it was fine. After a few hours. I tried starting the car, the key isn't rotating in the ignition. Then I remove the ECU and the clean, the every trace of water droplets after sometime. The car started honking by itself, then I disconnected the horn and then I disconnected battery after 12 hours. I connected the battery and the horns are not honking by itself, and I tried starting my car. It started as usually it starts and after going about 5 km. I went back to my home and then I tried starting my car whenever I put my key in ignition on the last tab where the engine is about to start (the radiator fans kick in with the maximum speed) and the car is not turning over and then I open the fuse box, cleaned it with the board cleaner. There was a little trace of rust i cleaned it with the toothpick. And I have checked all the fuses and relays, there is not a single fuse. turned bad, but whenever I turn the key to own position, the fan starts at maximum speed, and I haven't applied your method to start the car, but I think you have very vast knowledge about my problem and i hope you will help me in this issue

MY CAR IS W204 C350 SEDAN 2008 Making weird noise vibration when suddenly accelerate from 40mph and above its pretty bad vibration just like a glass but i showed to few mechanic they told me its not the sunroof glass or rails its from the driver shaft maybe and flex disc or U joint shaft please help if anybody faces same problem the engine and transmission mounts are replace few thousands miles ago the car doesn't make any noise on the shifting gears but its really bad noise while driving and wanna go fast suddenly and cruise control i don't hear that noise or if i just go from 0-60 without any holding back no noise but it makes noise if i just push the gas suddenly and and hold it slowly thanks
Torque converter shudder is common in Mercedes benz vehicles. Especially if the transmission fluid service interval has been neglected. Try changing the transmission fluid and filter. That may reduce or eliminate the shudder. If it's too far gone, you may need a replacement torque converter.
Did you have to 1.lower the rack 2.disconnect the lower joint of the steering shaft at the rack to gain clearance to remove the coupling assembly? or 3. were you able to just remove and replace ?
The steering “rack” or steering gear was not touched. You don’t have to go under the car at all. This coupling is held in place by a T45 bolt. Remove that bolt and pull the coupler away from the steering column. That’s it.

No. It just has to conduct electricity. ⚡️

Check fuses #F22-F25 in the fuse box under the hood driver side firewall. If those fuses are good. You may have a bad engine control module.
OK. I have a GLK 350 4matic 2012. Just replaced battery. Car is receiving power. Cannot get a crank or NO lights on dashboard. Could be possible water damage Inside car and near the fuse box. What’s my next move ?
When you open the driver door. Does the mileage show up in the cluster? Or is it totally dark?

Hi, i have the same problem with my c220 2016 , good battery, good relay also have good ground but doesn’t start with the key i can only start it by removing the cap from the relay and touching it then it start stright away , you have some advice please ? Many thanks
Check for power at 86 of the starter relay. You said you have ground at 85 while cranking? If you have power at 86 and ground at 85. Then you must get a crank. You cannot have power at 86 and ground at 85 and get a no crank. We already know you have power at 30 and that it transfers to 87 because you're jumping the relay and starting the car successfully.

i have a w204 with the key stuck in the ignition, i can turn the car on and switch gears but i cant turn the key into the first position to remove it from the car
It’s probably the shift cable. It attaches to the EIS and prevents the key from being removed unless the shifter is in park. That cable maybe loose at the floor shifter. Or your EIS is mechanically faulty and needs replacement. If that is the case we can provide you with an EIS clone. Contact me if you need a replacement EIS. 818 510 3375

Hello to all i have a question here I have a 2010 GLK350 base it just wont start for some reason i have removed the ESL and plugged it up stick in my key and it shows it does work in and out like it should I'm not planning to reinstall the ESL back where it should be but my car still wont start it worked fine drove it to work and had to tow the car home and now testing it any ideas is this the cause of my car being killed

Hey there. I’m having a EIS issue. A repair was attempted on the broken connector because intermittent no start. Now it won’t start at all. Need someone to fix this😢. Can you help? Does the part number on the eis have to be exact? It’s a 2010 ML350, eis part number ending in 1500.

Why not just cut the dang sliding lock pin so it doesn't actually lock the steering wheel anymore and not worry about the motor?
The motor pushes two plastic arms that depress two switches that give "drive authorization". It's not just the lock, you need that drive authorization to start the car.

Can you do this type of job on boot mode, where you can solder the wires and read eeprom and flash data and then transfer into the new eis, so that way you dont have to program a new esl emulator and use the old key?
No. I don't know of any tool that does boot mode on the 204/207 EIS.

Hey a have a c250 it won’t start I’ve bought starter ecm battery Esl emulator still won’t start interior radio lights don’t work divers seat dosent work eather and a bunch of fuses from the engine bay have ground curent and to my knowlage they should only have power
The windshield drain is right on top of the back end of the fuse box. Most likely water got into the fuse box. Take it out, usually inspect it. Open up the cover and look at the circuit board.
@ man thanks I ordered a new fuse box came in finally it runs I just got an issue with the shifter stuck in park no brake lights sun roof won’t work neither do the dome lights dash says speed sensors, abs,cruise control,air bags don’t work and my radio is on anti theft Ik there’s a prosidure to take it of I just don’t know how to take it off any help with these things would be nice I’m just glad the car runs again tho

Hi when the steering lock fails to open up. You won't get the yellow and red dash lights coming on in the cluster. If that's the case you have a failed Electronic Steering Lock. We fix those by mail. You send us your EIS and key and we program an ESL emulator to you to install and it works like a charm. If your steering lock is working and you do have red and yellow dash lights coming on but no crank. You first check the starter fuse, starter relay, starter, and finally the ECM sending a ground signal to the starter relay upon crank. I have a video that walks you through the ECM diagnosis. Very true! There was no code for misfire. When it was running it was running well. Customer had a no crank no start one day.
If the steering wheel is unlocked, does the ESL have to be removed, or can it be unplugged, then plugged into the emulator?
