VW Atlas Westfalia Edition | Featuring the iKamper Skycamp 2.0
Просмотров 10 тыс.4 года назад
When I first laid eyes on the iKamper... I knew I had to have it. The price tag is a bit steep, but a true saying for overlanding is, "Buy Once, Cry Once." I know that my iKamper will last for several seasons and being a four season tent means I can camp year round. The quick deployment of the Skycamp 2.0 might be rivaled by other RTTs on the market, but the king size bed and high quality build...

Gear Review | Benchmade Mini Crooked River
Просмотров 5034 года назад
Upon seeing the Benchmade Mini Crooked River I knew I had to have it. Despite the popularity of the Benchmade 940 and a slew of other folding knife contenders… I settled on the Mini Crooked River because it fit my personal style and vibe. I enjoyed the diamond wood handle and the orange accents. It was a handsome piece and one that I knew I’d enjoy carrying and fidgeting with throughout the day...

Does it drive smooth like the oem spring and do you get any road noise ?
I got 225/55R18 on with 18” rims. Still good and won’t interfere with driving and performance?
What were alignment numbers after the springs were installed. Was there any compromise?
Where can I find the heat lamp?
I can’t wait to do this to my 2018 SE lol
Does the spring affect alignment?
Stop with the background music
What do you think the wheels and tires and lift did to your fuel economy? Really interested in those things without adding anything to the roof.
removing the large back box would go better toward "wookieness", but if this B2B resonator delete is the only thing out there...well, I guess it's a start. it's tough with 2 into 1 and no crossover pipe. the important part is to just let it breathe. what about keeping the resonator and going axle-back straight pipe? too loud?
I have a 20 inch rim what tire size would I need to get all train tires same car no lift
When you installed prior to your lift, did it rub at all?
did you need any spacers, or any fender well mods? also how is the alignment and road feel? Any twitchiness or positive camber issues?
It's been a while since you did all these mods - how are they holding up? Anything break or did you make any more changes? Any regrets? Thanks!
You got that Jeep looking really slick man. Keep after it. It looks awesome. Back in the day my father bought a brand new Jeep Cherokee Chief it was red and black looked really awesome. I believe his was a 77 or 78 model
What is the weight rating of the roofrack supporting the iKamper?
….and again….
What wheels this Atlas have???
Question, I hate how the stock suspension wallows over bumps like a boat. In fact, I can see in the beginning your's wobbled a bit in the parking lot, that's what I'm talking about. Did these springs fix that? Also, do you think these perform as well as stock in the twisties?
Liberating the VR6 glorious sound
Question. Are these actually 265? We got the same and tried to get them mounted and they told us that they were too big and would rub like crazy
Nice video. Did you have any rubbing at all after 1.5" lift? Was any fender trimming necessary?
To install these wheels what else needs to be done? Lifts?
Did this tire and wheel combo with the h&r lift affect your mpg any?
I was goinv to say thev only thing you're missing is the kitchen sink ....
LOL! Which I kinda have with the Joolca sink and shower system. It’s glamping 101, but whatever makes the wife and my daughter happy to camp with us is well worth the time and investment.
Was there any rubbing with the 265/70/17 without doing the lift kit?
Yes there was. Had to lift it.
@@OverlandOC Thank you for letting me know! If I would have just kept watching your channel you actually addressed that in one video. I am still deciding on what I want to do to ours.
Nice setup. I also own a 2019 4motion Alas that's outfitted with a GFC rrt and an ARB 2500×2500 awning which also has a tent attachment. The Atlas itself can sleep 2 adults or 3 children. the GFC tent the same, and the awning room 3 adults or 5 children. Thats 7 adults or 11 kiddos or 2 adults, 8 brats, or .....well you get the picture. Awesome to see others who share my passion to get out and explore all while trying to keep the family comfortable.
@Overland Outdoor Collective, How much did the install end up costing you and did you get the parts from the store and purchase separately. I actually live in lake forest area and thinking of installing this kit and curious what the install cost ended up being. Also did the 1.5” lift give you enough clearance for the 32”? I am thinking about upgrading to a 255/70/r18 (stock rims for now…) and it puts it at 32.1 inches which I imagine would be fine but curious if your fit is marginal or good now. Thank you for this video exactly what I was looking for!!
Hi would you mind providing me your exact ride height measurements?
I have a VW atlas 2019 SE do you have to lift 1.5inch to put this setup on?
Yes. Need a 1.5 lift.
Do you have a lift kit installed? If not, do these rub? I'm considering these but worried they'll rub.
I have a 1.5 inch lift. Without it… you will rub.
Nice setup. How did you set up your guy lined for the canopy extension up front? I couldn’t find a loop but it looks like yours is tied to the tent poles?
That’s correct. You tie them to the top of your extension poles. I’ll do another video showing this using an ikamper mini and awning setup that I have. Stay tuned!
Did you need wheel spacers
Keep hearing people with these hate the hard ride as opposed to the factory ride- thoughts?
Great video! What are the dimensions on the mat you have inside your annex?
Sounds Awful
Great video. Do you still have the Taxa Woolley Bear? if so, how has it help up over the years that you've had it. I'm looking for a trailer and this seems like the best blend of function, quality and price. Any feedback or reasons why you wouldn't buy again? Thank you!
I just sold my WB trailer for a new setup but I love that trailer. Hard to let her go, but I have a new platform I’m building out. Will share with everyone soon on YT. Just been busy with life. The WB trailer is a game changer bc it makes your everyday suv softroader into a truck or an SUV with a backpack. All the storage of a truck and the convenience to carry all your gear with the hitch of your trailer. Then unhitch and you’re back to a normal SUV. Im actually looking to get an Airstream Basecamp now bc I picked up a truck and no longer need the utility of a trailer. But, the trailer is so essential to my camp setup that the truck will be great for solo trips and maybe me and my boys. But the Airstream Basecamp is an upgrade for my wife and I bc I want to go into 4 season camping and as I get older… the setup and loading of the WB trailer isn’t bad but I’m ready to upgrade to the airstream Basecamp now.
Awesome video! I just left you a comment on your blog, however, you answered it in this video. I'm going to go with the leveling kit from black forest, hopefully the tires do not rub. I have the same year and trim atlas as you.
That showed absolutely nothing
Can that roof handle it ? Roof max is 165 and tent is 160
Depends on the model/trim level you have for the Atlas. I have a 2019 Atlas with a 200# dynamic capacity. However, I believe most of the newer years and especially the models with a panoramic sunroof have the loads at max 165#.
Fantastic video! These high-performance coil springs are the best, we use them on our lift kits for the VW Atlas.
Can you tell me where you got the crossbars for the atlas
Nice set up home slice.
Word up! LOL
Will this affect factory warranty? Will car pass emissions? Love the way it sounds
I was wondering the same, at least for emissions here in California.
No, it will not. The factory warranty is still is good, and emissions should be ok. Haven't gotten emissions yet, but it's a newer vehicle so adding this resonator delete shouldn't add any changes to .y emissions. I'll update once I get that done if there are any issues.
Thanks for responding
it's after the cat and all sensors, so it does not affect emissions, just loudness/tone. VW added the center resonator to shape the sound and remove harsh frequencies; this pipe removes that sound tuning...
Just one comment I bought the whole thing shower tent, sink , all that almost 1000 dollars and I had some questions, worst customer service ever Its been 2 weeks and I haven't gotten a good answer to my questions yet product are ok very pricey for what you get my opinion, my comment Buyer Beware just saying.
I wouldn't do this to my atlas This about the dumbest $#!+ ever sounds a bit ricer to each his own 🤷🏻♂️
Some peeps wouldn't lift and put AT tires on their Atlas either, but ya.. I feel ya.. it's all up to the owner. Cool thing is that there are companies trying to make aftermarket parts for the Atlas to at least give us owners some variety. Thanks for the comment!
How ironic you calling something subjective "dumb" when you can't even use any punctuation.
I put on my Atlas one of the same like 6 months ago I love the sound perfect.
Turn the background music up more
I have a Gen 1 VW Tiguan and considering the Raising Springs. But I've seen comments that raising springs could stress sway bar and end links and also shift the wheels to front or back. Is it true? I'm hoping these springs could be good match with Bilstein B6 shocks.
Sik setup, Bro!! Can't wait to see more adventures!
