I increased power using a smaller reduction of 11.25:1 instead of 15:1. The motor draws 9.4 amps at 13 volts and the boat speed 2 knots

Thanks for the update Sean, I have a question what is the speed and load of your electric actuator? I have the same, however mine is slower. 70mm/sec, load 200nm, stroke 300mm. But it works fine in mi 30ft boat. Regards
this is awsome. Is there any documentation available on how you did put this together?
could you please share what components do you use for RF remote control. Thanks!!
Perhaps coat the turbines with silicone dry lube? Just a thought... I am tinkering with solo sailing in the Pacific... Permanently
hola, Sean. Enorme trabajo para beneficio de la nautica deportiva. me interesa el nuevo control remoto del piloto, y anemometro inalambrico, para funcionar en sociedad con el piloto. gracias por compartir tus enormes conocimientos. saludos desde argentina.
Sean you are a genius, great! Good wind, always!
Cool projects coming up! Great stuff.
awesome projects keep your mind building young man.
As usual Sean, your ideas/work are amazing and right on point. Are you planning to sell the buck-boost synchronous controller?
wisteria yacht club just sent an email to your gmail address. hopefully you haven't deleted yet
In 2009 you built a laser survey instrument using Arduino, and I have one of this. Can you help me please by sending me a tutorial for this device. Many Thanks
Super hate de tester ca. Merci !😮
Thank for , sharing , great job. I don't know if you remember about me and my channel. Now in Caribbean sea, I plan to sail along the east coast of USA (way back from Canada to Bahamas ) perhaps around October 2025. May be we will meet together !
Oh, what a job. Mine is very well working, it's fine. Resurrecting an old TP20. Thank you for your admirating job and intelligence
Beautiful trimaran you have there, sailors!
I switched to Proton mail.
I try to enable the plugin, but the icon does not appear in my menu. Any tips?
Great video. Succinct and clear. 👍
Please do more videos :D
It would be nice to have more videos :)
is there a way for a person to host their own emails, without third parties ?
Pretty sure the days when google used to ask themselves if it was evil before they implemented anything are long gone. Shocking you don't want to give your number to Google, you won't even give it to friends! 😂 Good to see your face buddy.
Hey, Sean. I feel you, buddy. Still love my TinyPilot. Don't let the bastards get you down.
I'd give you an email on my domain, but we have never met, so that would be asking you to trust me over Google... And who knows what would happen if I kicked the bucket.
So much talking, fouling the mind like the black diesel smoke fouling the air. Try to embrace the silence like a lost brother, listen to it intently.
Sounds like you need a poem. -------------------- The ocean she calls To the sailor’s own heart She beckons and offers To some a new start To those who have fallen To those who have failed To those who have suffered A long list of travails. She’ll provide you with transport She’ll provide you with meat She’ll allow you a living Catching her bounty to eat But if you are careless If you are merely some sport If you are impatient She’ll cut your life short When the winds come from the east Blowing 15 to twenty Those swells in the Inlet Will test you aplenty The waves they stack up like walls in a row but she tempts the unwary who are raring to go The stupid they die while the wise ones they wait Till the tide dies or the gale quits and she opens the gate We'll do well to remember That nature she's cruel Ol’ Darwin is there waiting To weed out the fools The clever, the tricksters, the ones filled with guile Will cause Mother Ocean’s evil sister to smile When out on the waves, her word is the law The lies of men fall away unstuck from your craw The measure of man taken In minutes and hours When the clouds make the changes to rain bands from showers The wind she blows shrill through the rigging and towers The world shrinks to just man, wind, waves and the hours Steering and staring, judging each wave’s approach Hoping and praying that your ship will not broach At the top of each wave you try to check your position In a storm in a boat, your position IS your condition On the open sea you are safer by far Than close to the beach with it’s rocks and sand bars The call “ shoaling waters” brings fear to the fore The sound of surf on the reef shakes man to the core man’s hopes and his dreams fall away like the leaves Choices narrow, it chills the marrow, hope appears and deceives Options get fewer when she’s close to the shore You must get some sea room or she’ll be no more Call Jesus or Neptune, Poseidon or Scylla Mother Ocean when she's angry can be a real killer Mind your manners, learn your lessons, then you hope and you pray That your vessel returns home safe at the end of the day. That's the sailors dilema throughout time emortal... why not ? Just go and see what happens....
I feel a sense of hopelessness, just like in the end of "Martin Eden" novel, by Jack London. Wonder if you read it?
I think saw your boat in Marathon early this year. You are channeling Thoreau and Whitman, my friend... good company imho.
Good work, young man. This type of launching is where the phrase "greasing the skids" comes from, btw.
Where is this?
So his boat is called NC2166CU..
Cool setup. Thanks for sharing
Great work!
Hi Sean! If you need help, let me know. Gennady
You are going to be the new Kevin Costner from Water World. I like your new boat.
I was really amaze that I saw you again sir. I am the kid whom you meet in the philippines way back 2013 after the strongest typhoon in the world hit our country. You landed in one of the towns in the philippines and i saw you roaming around. I approach you and we eat pizza together, visit the temporary tent shelters and share some awesome stories before you go back to your boat. I am so happy to see you again.. hope you can visit the philippines again sir.
Glad you are finally able to sail again !
Cool that you have a trimaran!
You are not lost... just another adventurous soul waiting for the messiah to return!!! Do no harm and stay amazed meanwhile....
Looks like Cumberland <3
That is so cool!! Which part of the world are you exploring these days?
Hi Sean, first of all I just want to thank you for your work which is fantastic! And I wanted to ask you if this plugin is available for the android version of OCPN. Again, thank you.
I'm on a slightly smaller steel boat..13 ton schooner Blue Dragon. Openplotter as chart plotter. Looking forward to running pi pilot on either my hydraulic system or a linear actuator on my sailomat windvane
Fantastic
Is this project still running?
Unsure if this is still monitered, but I bought the motor controller and can not seem to get to work. I have no idea what is being done at 55 seconds onward.
fantastic
Pretty cool idea. Good to see your out of the box thinking. Can't wait to see the finished product. What is your motor rated for?
Impressive !
