Esmée Kramer

Hi there mysterious stranger.
Thanks for visiting my page. My name is Esmee Kramer and I like to create. Yep that pretty much sums it up.
…
Wait you’re still reading? Ok I guess I need to tell a little bit more…
Well I’m from the Netherlands. I’m 24 years old, I study Network & Systems engineering and I like robots and dragons. I draw, I play the piano, love thunderstorms, love to travel and I’m very socially awkward. (normal people are terrifying)
I like to combine creativity and technology, which is probably what this channel’s main focus will be about, but I don’t have a lot of plans yet for next projects (just ideas). It could be a while before I post something new.

Project Raptor in depth: Structure & Mechanics
Hi everyone!
I build a dinosaur puppet/costume from PVC & foam and posted a video about it around a year ago. It’s been a while, but better late than never. So here’s a more in depth video of my raptor with a few upgrades. It’s not a tutorial or a step by step video on how to make one. For those of you planning on making a raptor or working on a similar project, you’re going to have to figure out some steps alone, but I hope this provides enough details about the structure and mechanics to help you out.
A lot of stuff I did possibly isn’t the best solution, but it’s just a solution that worked for me. And I didn’t measure things on scientific accuracy, I mean I barely measured stuff at all....

Project Raptor: My mechanical dinosaur costume
Hi :) I’m a student in Network & Systems Engineering (Robots, networks and programming and stuff) and I built a dinosaur in my spare time. I got the idea in my head, thought it would be cool to make. So yeah, why not? I hope you like the result! As for how long it took me, I did not count my hours. I’ve been building since my summer break 2018, although some sketches came before that. But I got...
Brilliant!!!
this is amazing!! can i ask what kind of pipe you used? are the pipes water pipes or are they PVC conduit? i'm making a dragon puppet/costume for my amateur theatre group, using your techniques as a guide, and i'm trying to keep the cost down but still have it be functional and not bend in the middle from the weight of the head and tail.
Hi there! I used the pvc pipes meant for electricity wires, not water pipes. The water pipes are a bit sturdier, heavier, but I suspect you can't bend them as easily with a heatgun. Although as I've heard from some others the available pipes and their specific material can differ per country
@@esmeekramer1436 thank you! i'm looking at using a mixture of both - electrical conduit for most of it, and water pipe for the long pieces of the dragon to stop it from bending under its own weight too much... did you have much of a problem with pieces like the neck sagging on the frame? since conduit is quite bendable...
This tutorial/breakdown is awesome! Tx so much for sharing. I'm lookong at making a dragon costume next year and i saw some of these sorts of constructions but i had no clue how to do the neck mechanics. Thanks for showing everything like this. You've made this project happen!❤❤
Simply INCREDIBLE! Great design and build. Everything looks and moves naturally, or at least as natural as we can currently comprehend about Dinosaurs. .
Beautiful job from France !
Hey, I LOVE the suit and I'm making it this year for Halloween! I was wondering if you had the measurements of the pipes in length. If not, it's fine. But I really do love the suit. Your technical and engineering skills are phenomenal!❤
Hi there! I don't have the measurements for you, partly because I didn't measure everything myself (just went with the lengths that worked) and because some lengths also depend on the person wearing it. Awesome to hear though that there's gonna be one more dino walking this earth :D I'd love it if you send me some pictures of the result, got a special place on my website for the dino army: esmeekramer.com/community-and-inspired-work/ Anyways, good luck!

Amazing!
Amazing creation! You're a master problem solver using simple tools. Thank you for sharing in such detail! Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
ive literally wanted to make one of these all my life. im gonna use this and a combination of the ideas for the stan winston suit to make my own. thank you.
The designs you see can also be found on my website. Good luck, if you got any specific questions feel free to ask :)
Hi how can I purchase one of this?
It looks like some… robot skeleton of a dinosaur or something…
Please make more videos
You are SO talented!
Thanks for the inspiration I’m making one as well
Tiene que salir muy caro fabricarlo. ¿Cuánto costo€?
Now THAT is cool!!! You have a bright future....talent like that will open up a whole new world for you....like a Jurassic World...
This is amazing 👏👏👏
I made one of these in 2014. Making a very realistic newer version now.
I need this
So very impressive! Great job in putting this together! You will have a sup successful future. Thank you for sharing!
Full caver up dinosaur... Sis
Hoi Esmée. Geweldig gedaan!
Hallo
Hi
Hey what you did here was nothing short of amazing, I’m sure you get this all of the time ,but do make Dino suits for other people, if so I would like to get on your waitlist I’m 6ft6” I’d be a big Dino, if not cool someone with your intelligence is going places 😊
Hermoso ❤❤
What a great talent, what an ingenious work, he is mechanical but he looks like a live raptor!!! congratulations for such valuable work, it inspires me. a lot congratulations for such a creative work!!!!
Really cool, I thought this was made in Stan Winston or something. I was thinking maybe I could find something helpful for the head of my Godzilla suit I am making. Pipes are a bit large and cables are a no go, but very useful ideas i might implement if I make something in the future.
how much is it in usd👹
Knap gedaan!
It's amazing and I'm glad I found this. I have to know... Why? Why dinosaur? Why build anything? I hope the answer is just because but was there a reason?
Vc passa as medidas?
Gracias .. muy valioso
Thanks so much for this. This is massively impressive and yet so simple.
Amazing creation, i want it for one raptor
Do you have the project plans?
Y los planos?
Thanks just finished mine. Kids love it
Bisa minta sketsanya
GREAT JOB !!! what kind of roar have you used ?? 🙂
