Do you have the vid of Ted Nugent trying to show him up?
@@wesmartino64 no I don't have any videos that are not already somewhere on RUclips, I would love to see this one too!
If I could play like Paul Gilbert played when he was 19, I would be more than happy to book a gig …
Killer 🔥🔥
...And some people still wonder if we've been visited by aliens.

Late to the party but gotvto say damn, Shawn Lane will always be the greatest to me!
Cool!
The phrasing and tone are spot on man.
@@jeremyking9185 thanks a lot! Really appreciate
Excellent legato lines. The GOAT would be proud.
@@jeremyking9185 thanks a lot! He still the boss, untouchable
Now do it with a cigarette hanging out of your mouth, leaning back and not looking at your fingers.
@@yogimarkmac not looking is actually easier sometimes, but the cigarette would be the hardest part haha
Nice to hear him restrained before kicking off at the end
Beginning like srv!
Good, but it sounds a little elevator music like. Jeff Beck or Steve Vai could hang with him easily imo.
Totally out of sync with the audio 🤔

Is the video and audio out of sync? He doesn’t appear to be playing what I’m listening to
Link in description for full concert
I love he steps on the gas and his head goes back 0 to 1000 mph in 2 seconds
Because nobody else can.
So awesome. Especially for the time. A pioneer.
He plays that solo smoother than Joel Walsh but he didn’t write it. Nobody plays Shawn lane but Shawn lane .
Marchbank (probably) can play Shawn Lane's stuff. At least he has the required technique.
@@u.v.s.5583Guthrie does
Incredible. Just incredible.
I agree with Shawn.....speed first....clean it up later lol. Always works for me.
Great band. Jeremy Lawton really fills it in with the keyboards and backing vocals. Fantastic
Shawn was the greatest technical player in history ... along with Holdsworth.
Shawn was the complete package.
He didn’t know how to finger pick lol
What do you mean, “nowadays”? Not like times have changed. It’s just that Shawn is probably the fastest ever.
Among the greatest Guitar solos, if not the greatest Guitar solo ever captured on tape.. 🙌
That sucked but in a very impressive fashion!
GOAT
any chance you can sync the video?

Honestly I think Shawn’s music is perfect how it was. The way he was so unknown to most but so revered by few, really lends to his mythical status. The grainy old videos just make it that much more powerful and haunting in the best way possible. The greatest guitarist that will ever live
Jonas Hellborg and Jeff Sipe still playing
Greatest of all time. The G.O.A.T
You sure this is him playing ?? His playing and the notes doesnt match at all
@@JohnWayne1107 yes unfortunately, you can check the all video on the description
I love that there are so many recordings of this song - all with different solos - all incredible
For any die hard Shawn Lane fans: Anyone else feel, that Shawn's "perfectionist" studio albums greatly falls short when compared to amazing bootleg vids floating around in the net? (For those that dont know, Shawn was known to be a workaholic "dotting the i's" kind of worker when it came to the studio) I understand his power of ten album was on the watchful eyes and ears of Warner bros seasoned vets, but his self produced stuff, im not really all that interested,.. feels like it doesnt do him justice.. anyone else share this thought? Relating back to Paul's observation and message, my opinion: had Shawn's recordings been left more raw than polished, i might actually enjoy it.. (the more raw, the less time it took to come out, the more time to make albums, i guess)
Flawless, then he rips it up so beautifully!
I always disliked out of phase pickups...until now
Now you want it haha, it's like playing fluidly like the neck pickup but with the bridge pickup
Stratospheric!!
Capt Bilbo's?
This style of ripping blues/rock sounding licks I always liked by him. He could do this so amazingly in those old covers he did. Amazing playing, no posing, no sloppy sounding attempts... just FLOWING.
that lick at 1:02, wow. the amount of precision it takes to hit those lines is otherworldly. Shawn has and always will be the GOAT in my eyes. One of the most inspiring minds music has ever seen.
F****** Terrifying!!
Awesome Solo !! Thanks !!
Avec plaisir !
Shawn would often say to me, " Be it fast or slow play something musical".. RIP Shawn.

Love his sound with his Ghostrider
🤯it's some weird travesty of the universe that makes it seem like Shawn was such an evolved spiritual being that no camera could ever take good quality video of him playing, but at least we could record the sound.
By the time Shawn came around nobody wanted another guitarist. Shawn should’ve made record with Mike Varney (shrapnel records). (Buy these records or I’ll rip your face off) it said. Shawn should’ve made record (on shrapnel)during early eighties, like yng yang malmsteen ‘steeler’
Guys Shawn is definitely one of the best, but I watched a video from the early 80's, I guess, with this Japanese classical guitarist that had my jaw on the floor throughout the entire 30 something minute performance. I've watched all of the greats Paco, and the rest, and they are no doubt mind numbingly amazing. I had settled on the fact that Guthrie Govan was probably the goat, then Mateo Mancuso blew my mind and I was all confused. Butfrom the time I hit play on this guys performance, my jaw was glued to the floor. His name is Kuzhito Yamashita, I think, something pretty close anyway. And I have to say that I don't believe there is another man that's ever walked this planet tha can touch him. I don't really get into classical guitar too much, but I couldn't look away from this performance. If you can look it up, the performance was him playing "Pictures at an exhibition", solo, no other backing instruments, yet he plays every part of a song that requires an entire orchestra by himself. He's mind blowing, even if you can't stand classical stuff, watch him !
1000% Yamashita was to classical guitar what Alan Holdsworth was to the electric guitar. MORTALS CANNOT DO WHAT THEY DO. He fell victim to the “Segovia’s way or the highway” crowd. It never mattered that he was performing with a technical facility that dumbfounded the “experts” and that he LITERALLY invented techniques that hadn’t been attempted before for the simple fat that it was impossible… It was their club and he wasn’t a member. There was a lot of that BS surrounding all things Japanese in that era. Whether it was cars, guitars, or VCRs, the Japanese were smoking the rest of the world and the world didn’t care for it very much. THANK YOU for being one of the few who still recognize him as the best there ever was.
There are amazing players in all styles. Yamashita is incredible. I can't say I know too many classical players, but that's likely where many of the "best" would be found. As someone who grew up studyinf with a jazz guitarist, I'd recommend checking out Lenny Breau, as he's incredible.
Too dark, it says it's Shawn Lane but it could also be Kmac2021.
