Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus intro played on a 61 keys keyboard and bass guitar. Greg Lake's fingering is slightly different (he used to play the fourths with barre, I played it more staccato). Some notes on the keyboard are arranged for 61 keys as well. I hope you appreciate the effort, though my left hand is still ridiculously crooked. Better to use headphones. Gear used: Korg Trinity, Mor...

The solid time of change guitar solo by Steve Howe. Pretty close to the studio recording. Gear used: Jim Reed PRS, Kemper profiling amp (Cranked Dual Showman treble booster; reverb)

First attempt to play this Howe's classical guitar solo. The guitar is an ultra cheap Yamaha G-60A (1972) I'll keep praticing :)

Part 1 of KE9 first impression, by Emerson, Lake & Palmer (1973). Studio version. Yep, my left hand fingering on the organ intro is kinda creepy. Guitar solo 07:07 Gear used: Korg Trinity, Morris Jazz Bass, Gibson Les Paul studio, Kemper Profiling Amp

The gorgeous guitar tone that Santana used in this gem wasn't easy to reproduce, I did my best. Gear used: Jim Reed PRS, Kemper profiling amp (Dumble Hrm), effects: wah, reverb, spring reverb, lo-fi filter

Bravo Greg 🤩
Me encanta el estilo unico de colin greengood , su obscuridad es UNICA!!!
This is fantastic! Absolutely spot-on and flawlessly executed. I wanted to create a cover of the song but was struggling to nail down the bass line. I was aiming for a version as true to the original as possible, and your work was exactly what I needed to achieve that. Thanks so much for making it possible for me to play the bass part for my cover! Here's the end result: ruclips.net/video/TItkCLi48Y0/видео.html
Not sure if you're still publishing, but this certainly earned a 'subscribe' from me.
Due to the mixing, I've never heard the guitar part during the verse so clearly---what a brilliant set of chords/riffs!
Nice job. It is a bitch to replicate his guitar work ..how did you keep you mouth closed through the whole thing? If your gonna do Howe you need more mouth movement...ha ha
This is pretty darn close. That fact that he's slightly out of tune actually helps to recognize that it's him playing, and not just Steve. Very, very good !
Excellent!!
Mr Mushrooms, he lives in the world on his Solo Albums. Excellent Playing, that is a lot of work but worth it.
Really well done. One of my favorite songs..
…….. was feeling so good about my playing lately, practicing daily, thought I was doing better………. Nope Finest Lake bass rendition I’ve ever seen. Totally impressed. And I really really enjoyed listening to it. I love Lakes bass lines, just so nice with a great tone. Wow I’m 62 and floored Thoroughly impressed Better go practice
Fucking incredible
that is so amazing..are you in a band
Awesome💕💕💕
The shame is that no one is creating this kind of stuff anymore
So beautifully played. Thank you all
Good job 👍
Nice playing. This song is challenge bass wise but you got it. What kind of bass is that? Looks like a Jazz, but I can't see the headstock.
So well done!
the song is not even over yet and I had to make this comment. This is the best rendition of ELP I haveEVER SEEN.
thank you very much Tom!
great job
thanks a lot!
Outstanding! Extremely dead on work.
Bravo...Steve`s style and sound was so much different than the other major guitarist of the 70`s, the greatest decade of Rock and keep on rocking brother
Great version. I've always loved Eruption. All that nasty quartal harmony sounds fantastic on the organ. It's also jolly hard to play.
insane
Super nice job Alex Great music, well covered
Geez how did you nail that tone? Brilliant work ty
Incredible performance…a real pleasure to listen and watch! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Incredible musicianship.
holy shit. this is so impressive, great job.
I know I come very very late to the party but a midi transcription or the tabs for the bass part would be very much appreciated. Impressive playing for sure!!!
Genesis often has this mind tripping couple of bars. This one is about 3/4s of the way through. It's the same as what comes before, except... what?
Do you know what amp settings did you use as in: gain, treble, mids and bass?
sorry, too many years have passed, but I think it was a very bass/mid oriented eq, not very high gain though. Treble booster had a high impact.
steve needs to see his shrink
Nah - the shrink needs to see a top-notch guitar teacher.
@@robst247 exactly
The playing is on time but the tone hurts my head. I'm guessing the level might be a bit too hot. Stellar playing though. As a 16 year old during a cold and rainy winter in 1973 l spent January, February and half of March teaching myself just the intro passage on the 1968 Telecaster l still own.
grazie infinite! sì, non ho mai preso lezioni, e si vede :) ma apprezzo molto le tue parole
Truly an epic prog rock classic
Where can I find good tabs for this piece?
the best guitar player in my opinion! Thanks
Great job!! My all time favorite piece of music......Tarkus!! Keith was a compositional genius. Love the dirty sound you pulled out of your organ!!!
How do we go about pronouncing your last name...?
Suck on That Tim Henson of Polyphia! 😅
Wow! Wow! Wee! Thanks Alex for your video. Great to see your video showing the fingerings played by Greg Lake on both bass and electric six strings. Loved every minute of it.
thanks a lot!
wow
Great Job my friend and your tone is awesome!
thank you!
Harder and more impressive than eruption
very cool
Wow. You nailed an incredibly difficult passage. Bravo!
Nicely done, and the tone is spot on, amazing job
Bravissimo 😊👍 greetings from Italy 🇮🇹
grazie mille dall'Italia anch'io ;)
Rhythmically very difficult as the many challenges evident here. Saw Steve struggle similarly to perform this accurately in 2017 tour. Nobody else like him in the 70s though
