    Thank you! I like this format format of lessons. It helps develop listening skills, and I have time repeat after you. Also I'm very proud of myself for checking the word מוסג in my favorite Hebrew-Russian Dictionary and found out that it spelled slightly differently. Both מוסג and מושג are new to me. I consider it a deliberate "mistake" to test the students' attentiveness :) Thak you!

    So to make sure I’m understanding correctly….Lamed has to be placed at the beginning of a word to give off that meaning??

    • @thehebrewchannel3281

      I’m sorry I’m not sure I understand the question? :)

      @@thehebrewchannel3281 Example: When the Vav is at the begging of a word, it means “and” when Vav is in the middle of a word, it means “o.” So pertaining to this video, I noticed that the Lamed was always placed at the beginning of words, so as you explained it, does it ONLY give off those meanings with the particular nikkuds, when placed at the beginning of a word, or does it has those meanings in general??

    • @dmerschen
      @dmerschen 20 дней назад

      @@EnigmasEpiphany Lamed, Bet, Caf, and Mem are Hebrew letters that are used as prepositions when they are attached to the front of the the word they are acting on. In English, prepositions (to, on, in, from, etc.) are always separated form the word they are acting on by a space, but not always in Hebrew. Using the example from the video, if the English sentenced used the syntax of Hebrew, it would like like: He wants to go toaparty (with 'to' and 'a' connected to 'party'). You would never see a Lamed by itself. A Vav in the middle of a word, as long as it's not part of the root, becomes a vowel (to smooth out two consonants), becoming 'oh' or 'oo'. A Lamed used as a preposition would either mean 'to' or 'to the'/'for the', depending on the vowel.

    I went 3 years to Hebrew school, from 6 to 9 years old, but never could peak it or form frases more than 3 words. You make it very easy and in a few hours I'm speaking many sentences. Thank you. There is just one think that will make it more dynamic (for me) shorten the silences and say faster the first time you read the phrase.

    • @thehebrewchannel3281
      @thehebrewchannel3281 2 года назад

      That makes me so happy!🥰 And thank you for the constructive feedback! Just to clarify, do you want me to say it with normal speed the first time and then slowly? Or do you not want the slow part at all?

    • @EddyKiersz
      @EddyKiersz 2 года назад

      @@thehebrewchannel3281 I find that you saying it twice, one slow displaying the correct pronunciation and then normal speed is a good approach, but the slow should be in my opinion a bit faster, like you are saying it at 30% the speed and I'd like them at 60% of normal speed. Also cut the silences 30%-40%. Then try to get feedback from other people as well and then evaluate what is best for the majority of your audience. Thank you again for teaching me and wish you the best.

      So actually no I have not, I have pretty much just been relying on English romanization and listening to sounds. I really need to start in both the Arabic and Hebrew script but mainly my goals have been speaking and being able to hold conversations so I haven’t focused as much on learning the alphabet for either. But I know I need to! 😊 I was actually thinking of watching your videos to learn how to read the Hebrew script, I saw you have a playlist for that too and also I think it would actually help me in speaking as well.
