The quick clip mantels are junk and someone needs to a video on them as well. Prepare!!

This used to be called road-trippin’ . Overlanding is generally off road.

I inherited the same model on the left from my dad. It us now painted brown because it started to rust and has a new tank because the original rusted through.

Gotta ask... Do you recall the MPG previous to now? I think I have same 245/75/16 as your old. But they are great on highway MPG for a truck. I have a sidewall issue on one so considering a new set.

My 2016 4x4 Taco came with 265/70r16 tires on stock aluminum rims. No issues whatsoever. Great informative video, thanks.

its kinda funny that driving on Texas backroads/county roads is called overlanding. I mean, i love the backroads but... ive got a low water crossing like that 2 miles from my house.

My favorite are the silk lite in the dark green package, havent got a bad one yet. If you have the older silk lite you might break the string. Don't throw it away! Just have a bread wrapper wire twist handy with plastic removed. Works better than the new mantles for sure! About to order some peerless. Silk lite supplies can't last forever...😢

Hello i commented on another video but i am getting old man emu 2 inch lift with 2887 springs and 51100 icon add a leafs in the rear with 2 to 2.5 inch lift in the rear and am worried it wont look right. Is this about what you did lift height wise? I have 2017 sr5 access cab but wont have bigger tires than 17inch think they are 265/75 r 17s

This was a fun project to convert a really rough condition 1958 Coleman 200a lantern to burn kerosene and do a mechanical restoration...........This 200a should last another 70 years

I did this route alone the opposite direction from Roanoke Texas two years ago on MLK day. That James river crossing was a bit unnerving, LOL - I got out and walked it and nearly turned back, but here came a local woman in a truck with her dogs. She stopped and I asked about it, she said just stay to the left (going in the opposite direction as her) I said, I almost chickened out until I saw you do it. She laughed and said, you'll be fine. It was a well over 600 mile day in my 2015 Tundra....just gotta make sure you don't end up on private property. Texas is the king of barbed wire fences

Back in November of 2023 I installed Bilstein 5100’s all around adjusted the front 2” height and in the back i installed a 1” block. On 05/27/24 I finally got rid of the stock tires 245/75R/16 Toyo A31 (the Revs =661 and size=30.47”), now I installed Toyo AT3’s 265/75R/16 (the Revs = 637 and size = 31.65”). Moving forward on 05/30/24 I went to the dealer for the recall on the rear axle and asked the dealer to recalibrate my speedometer guy at the counter asked this senior service technician and he replied I don’t need to do anything with the speedometer. Any thoughts on this. My truck is a 2023 Taco

I have a 2023 TRD Sport V6, and the stock wheels are 17 inches. I want to purchase the wheels shown in this video. Will they fit without any problems? My concerns are the offset and TPMS.

There are a couple of Canadian lanterns that weren’t made in the US that I think will be collectable. These are the “Signal” wide brim seafoam ventilator 327’s from the mid 30’s to early 40’s. They had a different collar than the standard 327. There was kerosene version of this model as well, and the 427K similar looking version called the “Mountie”Being Canadian made only makes them 1/10 the production numbers of the US, and only made for a few years makes them even more rare. There was also a green painted fount economy version that you don’t see often. Also the Canadian 220 & 228B with the stippled Coleman collar which isn’t that well represented. Sure there are many others as well.

Don't blame Coleman it looks like there's a wrinkle in mantle before you light it.... you got to get the mantle in good shape before you light it !!!... the hole happens right where the wrinkles at !!!

I am thinking of doing the same thing. You can also bolt it down to the floor (much like a safe). I am thinking of getting al old one to put it outside to store some tools.

You have an amazing collection. I’m looking to get my first Coleman lantern. I’ve been collecting Oil lanterns and want to get at least one of these for my collection.

The USFS lanterns are great (I own one), but the Canadian Pacific Railrod (CPR) lanterns made by Coleman are my favorite. Many of them spent years and years traveling back and forth across the continent, which fascinates me for some reason. For both of these "working" lanterns, every nick and dent tell a tale.
