Sew! 🪡 Plaid Fabric Skirt 🍂🍁
Hello! Thank you for watching today’s video!
This is the plaid fabric I had originally obtained to make the jumper in this video:
ruclips.net/video/IFTJz5onsXs/видео.html
This skirt pattern is relatively easy (If you are brand new to sewing, I do not recommend plaid). I have only made View A. I plan on making others in different fabrics. I am not thrilled with the way the button/button-hole are featured on this view. I might try to re-design it next time!
Have fun and let me know if you make this one!

      I'm so sorry to hear that your Brother PRW is no longer working! I still use the Singer HD6800-C and love it. I cannot compare it to my Bernina, though. I have not had a single issue with it; it does everything it is supposed to do with no problems. It is not a heavyweight machine and, if it needed service other than cleaning, I don't know if I would spend the money. I took my Bernina in for service and when it was returned to me, I realized why I missed it so much! The one major difference I have noticed is that to put the walking foot on the Singer is a massive hassle and to do the same thing on the Bernina is a snap. The low-shank Singer feet are a fraction of the cost of the high-shank Bernina feet. I hope this helps you make your decision. I know it can be daunting trying to decide! I have found that the Singer works very well for me as a backup machine. It has several cute "embroidery" stitches. 🧵♥

      @LaurieEggleston37 thank so much for your response... does the bernina have the stitch elongation feature? If so, what model would you suggest? I use a lot of scalloping in my traditional dress orders. I also apply lace to tulle for many custom wedding veil orders. Maybe the bernina is the way for me to go of it offers that feature... your thoughts?

    Why is it showing the machine backwards

    • @LaurieEggleston37
      @LaurieEggleston37 6 месяцев назад

      From Poe.com poe.com/p/What-is-the-reason-behind-the-frequent-occurrence-of-reversed-videos-with-backward-text-on-RUclips The frequent occurrence of reversed videos with backward text on RUclips can be attributed to a few different reasons. Here are some possible explanations: Recording using a front-facing camera: One reason for reversed videos is when they are recorded using a front-facing camera. Front-facing cameras often flip the image horizontally, resulting in a reversed video when uploaded to RUclips [1]. Unintentional editing or processing: Sometimes, videos may undergo unintentional editing or processing that flips the image horizontally, leading to a reversed video. This can happen due to technical errors or incorrect settings during the editing process [1]. Artistic or creative purposes: In some cases, the reversal of videos and backward text may be intentional for artistic or creative reasons. Content creators may choose to reverse their videos to create a unique visual effect or to convey a specific message [1]. It's important to note that the occurrence of reversed videos with backward text on RUclips can vary depending on the specific content and the intentions of the creators. While some videos may be unintentionally reversed, others may deliberately use this technique for artistic or creative purposes. * I did not intentionally reverse image this video.

So I have been on the hunt and found a QE machine that I intend to purchase tomorrow. I'm pretty sure the feet are interchangeable, but was wondering which machine I should keep. Laurie, can you explain the front pocket piece 9 (medium)? I folded piece 9 at fold line with wrong side together and sewed the sides. The top edges are raw and don’t know what to do. This pattern has been a pain in the a**. How do I fix the top’s raw edges? Do I fold it inside and then edgestitch? Thanks if you can help

    • @LaurieEggleston37
      @LaurieEggleston37 8 месяцев назад

      It really is a challenge! You might have the pocket upside down. I did that the first time I made this bag! If not, you can sew the raw edges together with Right Side Together and then turn out. The pocket is meant to be folded in half so you have a fold at the top (Wrong Sides Together). It is narrow at the top and wider at the bottom. Both of the sides and bottom edges are "raw" or unsewn because you will catch them in the straps along the sides of the pocket and sew across the bottom edge. You might find more information in this video: ruclips.net/video/DbQDzHfoElw/видео.html Let me know if you need further information! I want you to finish your bag!

Question: Have you ever tried the Bernina 130/705 H Wing Needle with an old 1080? I can't figure out which decorative stitch setting would possibly pair with it (to creative a hemstitch on things like the edges of dinner napkins) since there's no actual "box stitch" on that model. Such a nice job. Thank you for sharing. Do you think you would use that type of material again for handles? I was wondering how they felt when carring a full case of clothing and tolitries? When Sewing them in half was it a struggle for the machine? I've made bags and totes before but never seen that product. I have always used a nylon webbing, not as substancial as that, easily cut or destroyed which I can't see happening to your handles. Beautiful Overnighter or weekender. I love the chicken material. I could see me using that.

      Thank you! I would use the Jute again. It isn't difficult to stitch and it works well. It is sturdy enough to handle over-night items!
