Why do you need the avatar height?
The Sartor System of drafting menswear (which this tutorial is based off of) uses the height measurement to determine a balanced proportion of the body. Although this means that some height proportions may not align to every individual height measurement, typically one just needs to make small adjustments to get a pleasing and flattering overall fit.
great work..
Thank you so much!
Also thank you for your diversity in explaining this. Alot of people are just making blocks for women only when guys design and sew clothes too so yeah, thank you so much
Hi i see there is no one here. I want to say thank you . I don't usually comment but i feel you deserve it id honestly would give you a hug to for your help but this will have to do god bless you and keep doing the good work you are doing thanks - Dan P. question once this is made i can reuse this and make any type of pant i want correct ?
Thank you for your kind words! I put a lot of heart and time into these tutorials and I am so glad to hear they are helpful. And yes, you can use this as a base for any pant made out of woven fabric. :)
Fabulous & in Inches!!! Thank You So Much for your Great Video! I could not find anywhere a way to do this in inches which makes it so much more understanding to me!
@@TCREGAN1 Happy to help!!
Could this work for a huge bust, skinny body? And How? I have been endlessly searching for this!!
Yes, to calculate the dart size for any body type, follow this formula: [(0.6xBust Measurement)-Across Chest Measurement]÷3=Dart Size
It's actually a particularly good block for accommodating large bust/small waist ratios. It was originally designed by Mandy Barrington for drafting corsets.
Hello! I really like your style of teaching. I am really hoping that I can get clear step by step instructions on creating a lapel collar for coats. Would you please consider doing a tutorial for making this in clo3d lapels. It would really help me. Thank you so much for your videos.
Thank you for your kind words! I will add lapels to my list.
it amazing work , you make it easier, thank you ❤
this helped a lot as a beginner with CLO tysm!!!
when i right click it doesnt showing me any options ,its showing rewind symbol plese help me
@@bogakavya6485 hello! Make sure you have the correct tool selected when you right click: for example, the Edit Pattern tool (Z hotkey).
@@digitaldressmaker ok but it's not working
@@bogakavya6485 that seems like an unusual issue! I would reach out to CLO directly for support via their website.
@@digitaldressmaker okay thank you so much
It makes a lot of sense . Nailing it . Please keep the good working going . great help on your side !!!
@@exincident thank you!!
I love you tutorial , Keep going fan from Patreon
Thank you so much!! This series is so helpful. Do you have any tips for excess in between the darts, in the front and the back? I think the bodice is too long, but I'm not super sure :/ . Thank you again!
It's hard to tell without looking at it, but send me a message on Patreon and I am happy to take a quick look!
You are a blessing, much better than the company tutorials. Really appreciate the free videos!
@@ThildeWeems I am happy to help!
thankyou luv
Hello, thanks for the video! Which type of simulation do you use in for garment creation? There is a "accurate fabric" simulation and "normal" basic one.
Hello! I use "normal" simulation when I am first drafting my pattern and only use "accurate fabric" when checking fit, rendering, or exporting as a model for use in another 3D program. Essentially, I switch back and forth between the two, because although "accurate fit" is more accurate, it requires more computational power and ultimately slows down my process. Hope that helps!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
how can i make drill hole (Punch circle ) in the end of my dart ? I will need this if i need to print my pattern ..
I typically add specialty symbols after exporting my pattern to Adobe Illustrator where I also can set up custom print sizes, fonts, line weights, etc. I have a tutorial on how to export on my channel. Hope that helps!
Thank you!!!
Great video,
This helped a lot.. thanks... 😃
Thank you!

your directions are so clear and understandable love it

@@digitaldressmaker thank you! 🙏
This is fantastic.
super helpful
when u said u downloaded the pattern did u take screenshoot, trace then size up to avatars measurements?
Yes! I usually try to size the image roughly to the scale of the avatar using the shadow in the 2D window as a reference, but everything is just guessing until it's time to fit.
@@digitaldressmaker thanks, i'm going to try this on some of those patterns from the website u mentioned... love ur videos!
Your voice is so professional sounding that I thought it was an AI voice in the beginning.
Well explained about content but didn't find detail about Sleeve and Armhole co-ordination. How is the sleeve cap in sleeve drafted according to armhole shape of bodice with regard to both shape and size. I measn how to draw the Sleeve Cap and Armhole so that the "shape & size of Sleeve cap" exactly matches with "shape & size of Armhole".I have been watching so many videos to understand this but couldn't find this detail explained anywhere. Plz explain through another new video where you can draw the Armhole in bodice and a Sleeve cap in sleeve and show how the shape and size can be matched. IT will be very helpful to understand if you can make a video to exclusively explain it.
That is a great idea for a video! I will add it my list. In the meantime, if you would like specific guidance on sleeve/armscye relationships then I am happy to explain in a private lesson via my Patreon.
You are the best teacher!!💥
Just Loved it, Thank U so Much❤
thanks a lot
Can you use a projector and projector the pattern down onto a cutting table/fabric and cut it directly out?
Yes you can! I recommend checking out the Projectors for Sewing Facebook group for more information.
I'm new to Clo and love your tutorials, but I'm SO confused. I can't seem to find any information that explains why the waistbands are always designed with one layer and no fold. Do you do some kind of post-processing to the pattern output by the program to support that?
This is a great question! I design these tutorials to teach pattern concepts as simply as possible so I don't include instructions on finishes such as plackets, facings, or unfolding multi-layered pieces. I do have a general video that includes some of these techniques here: ruclips.net/video/3vvv4uwcKrQ/видео.html
@@digitaldressmakerah wicked! I get that 100%. I do sewing/machine embroidery/laser tutorials and have to do the same thing.
Checked off so many things i wanted to learn in one video, thanks
I am so glad to help!
WOW! Thank you, this was such a well detailed and chock full of information video, learned so many things.
I'm trying to create a pair of stretch pants. The pieces seem to be too tight for the body because it shows in some places but not in others. Making the pattern bigger hasn't solved the problem and I think one of the pieces is on backwards! Help! How can I schedule a 1/2 hour coaching session with you?
I am happy to help! There is a sign up form pinned on the front page of the Patreon. I also private messaged you the link separately.
love your tuts❤ ty
