I second the first comment. I sold a little in the £10's in 2021 for profit but bought back in amongst the £7's & £6's. Happy to accumulate more here. Solid companies just long-dated, I'm confident we make good returns when interest rates inevitably fall.

The inefficiencies of trucking is that its a truck. The logical conclusion is freight trains which have been around for good while now. A lot of technological advances are about thinking outside the box but you can improve a truck bit by bit and you end up with a freight train. There's no need to reinvest the steal wheel as it were.

Time to buy back some shares maybe ? 🤷‍♂️ got a lot of faith in this trust.

Was nice to see the additional clarification around the private company valuation process on the SMT investor webinar yesterday too. I am still hoping runways can be stretched as long as possible in this higher rate environment, but the longer-term opportunity is still very attractive at the current discount rate!

Happy shareholder here I have around a 3% portfolio allocation to SMT at around breakeven. It's only those who have severley overexposed themselves to long dated funds & stocks who are throwing out discontent at management.

With P/E ratios of 215 (NVDA), 180 (AMZN), 103 (MELI), 82 (TSLA) & 38 (ASML), it seems like there's many years of growth already factored into the stock prices. As the change in the interest rate environment seems more & more likely to be permanent, shouldn't SMT be looking away from interest rate sensitive businesses to more value end stocks?

It appears somewhat risky to have excessive exposure to Moderna, particularly considering the ease with which big pharmaceutical companies can develop mRNA technology (which is commonly used in research). Additionally, it would be prudent to explore alternative sequencing technologies such as Oxford Nanopore instead of solely concentrating on Illumina, which is experiencing a decline in market share.

Watched this on the webinar last week. Glad to see the managers concentrating on the mandate and not deviating despite unfortunate combination of circumstances over the past year, and the noise elsewhere regarding the board. Still, hard to stick to that 30% limit on PE. I can see a vote to raise this year.
