    Kai deserved the Gold, period. He had +0.3 in D score and got -0.275 less then Horton in E score. Unfortunately for Horton, Kai netted out just ahead of him. Kai’s routing lacked the showmanship of Horton’s for sure but Kai’s grip work was much more intricate and difficult and this code rewarded that. Grip work is not something folks notice compared to big releases that Horton has but that doesn’t make Kai’s win less valid.

    Amazing. He took a brilliant routine he did wonderfully during the team competition and made it so much harder. He didn’t do that layout Kovacs with the full in the team. He didn’t do that layout Kovacs in the team. So he took the hardest trick he did in the team competition and made it-the least most difficult trick in an insane sequence. WAT?! 😱😱😱Absolutely phenomenal routine. And the dismount. Wow. Thought he deserved gold. That was spectacular and he didn’t sacrifice the execution to do it. It seems cruel that had he stuck that dismount as he did in the team, he would have won.

    So sad. As long as Cheng Fei was in the mix, she could never win. She just never tried more difficult vaults and the others did. Eh. Not til 2 years later. She's awesome.

  • @matthewpaydo5145

    In my book, Nastia should have won bars and beam. Shawn had balance checks here and there throughout her routines. Nothing against Shawn, actually I love her, but she should have gotten silver on beam and gold on floor. In the bars final, He Kexin had dead hangs and almost missed the bar on her giant into her dismount!!!!!!!! Nastia got robbed. Anyone agree with me?

    • @amelieengels4383
      @amelieengels4383 8 лет назад

      I'm not trying to argue but I think Shawn deserved to win beam because even tho she had a couple balance checks { which btw were super minor you rlly couldn't tell } Shawn started from a much higher start value and Nastia started slightly lower than her which gives Sean the advantage ! They both did amazing and won the events they excel in.

    • @adamjhein642
      @adamjhein642 7 лет назад

      Malin Davilski Nastia wasn't better on bars. She has an awful dismount, late handstand on the endo, crooked pirouettes, low and flat tkatchev, etc.

      Matthew Paydo Nastia's D Score is Fucking Low, look that side somi at 10:10 😂😂😂 and that Front free walkover at 10:30 she don't deserve that Silver, her Form is patetic

    Is it harder to do a spin with your leg up like that? They all seem to do a spin with their leg up, like straight in front, but back then the day they didn't used to do that.

    • @BarsQUEEN16

      chris green Philly Yes it's significantly harder. It looks so easy because they make it look easy, but it's not.

    +cj222100 yeah, but those are really dangerous elements, so their score is actually low so as not to encourage gymnasts to put their life in danger (more than they already do).

    the US keeps producing "power gymnasts" constantly nowadays. difficulty over artistry. the 2012 team was a hot mess. that's why, i believe, Liukin is so memorable and iconic even after all these years. she was truly one of a kind. it will be a long time until an American gymnast emerges with the grace, artistry and skill of Nastia Liukin.

    Can anyone justify how Cheng Fei medaled over Alicia? Yes Alicia's double wasn't as hard as Cheng's 2 1/2, but seriously Cheng fell, you really shouldn't still walk away with a medal after a fall like her's, it wasnt even like she was close and nudged the mat she downright plain out went to her knees, I don't get it...

    • @lieus25
      @lieus25 11 лет назад

      so explain to me how mckayla maroney medalled after a fall at 2012 too?? it comes down to execution and difficulty think about it.

    • @TheGymSavant
      @TheGymSavant 10 лет назад

      Andie Bunker I think Cheng should've medalled, since she had 0.9 in difficulty more than Alicia and a fall was 0.8... Cheng's also the cleaner gymnast. I think Chusovitina was overscored. She had 0.2 more than Alicia in difficulty, but her vaults were no where near as clean.

    • @extra_ice_girl
      @extra_ice_girl 9 лет назад

      Maroney medaled because her execution was on point even with her fall. Cheng Fei medaled because not enough deductions were taken even with the .08 for the fall. She had sloppy form and wasn't square in the horse when she blocked. The Chinese scores were inflated just like the USA in 1996.

    • @TheGymSavant
      @TheGymSavant 9 лет назад

      Cheng fei sloppy? She is not at all, the only major flaw is her block... she's cleaner than maroney in the air.

    • @extra_ice_girl
      @extra_ice_girl 9 лет назад

      I'm referring to their second vaults. Cheng had a sloppy block, bent knees and crossed legs, Maroney did not.

    That bitch is going on with gymnastic since you were not on this world yet. Chusovitina isn´t so wonderful on vault,but she has never given up to fight and to train. Sacramone did it.What can we do about it? Ah,I swear,you can be an olimpic gymnast at the age of 33 years...
