History and Art - "House of Tank"
I've spoken before about how many interests and hobbies I have, and one of them that I'm only beginning to expand upon here on RUclips is my interest in museums. Big or small, general or niche, I have yet to go to a museum that ever disappointed me. You would probably be surprised to find that it is hard for me to choose favorites when it comes to museums. But every once in a while there is one that will stand out that activates integral memories and feelings from my youth.
I had only heard of the House of Tank museum from word of mouth. I honestly expected it to be located in a larger town perhaps Saint Louis or Jefferson City. I discovered it was located in Wichita KS which is about a th...

80s Days Gone By - the Great Car Show
Просмотров 162День назад
I know what you're thinking what in the world does a car show have to do with the 80s Days Gone By series? Well to be honest I wasn't sure where to put this. At first I was going to put it under the same playlist as the anime and comic shows. But it certainly didn't fit there. Then I thought well I can just make it a journal entry, but the journal playlists are so massive that I didn't want thi...
Engines of Creation Ep. 11 - Old Photography Equipment - Part 1
Просмотров 46День назад
I'll be the first to say that I don't know a lot about photography equipment. I got my very first camera a 110 Kodak when I was around 12 years old. The first camera I paid for by myself was a very early digital camera. I have always held that cameras were a means for me to simply record moments in my life as quickly and easily as I could, and never really considered the formats and forms that ...

Mural Concept (In Progress) - "Fae Forest 2"

So the first design was rejected, and more information and ideas were sent to work with. Working digitally is a boon, but also can lead down the path of overworking a piece. If you've never done mural work, and you utilize a projector, the initial test projections can often surprise you when you get the image showing on a wall. Suddenly what might have been smaller details can become problemati...

One aspect of this game that has been absolutely wonderful has been the level design, specifically speaking towards the way that the puzzles work so seamlessly in the experience. We've all had games in our lives that we've played that or either too difficult or too simple. Not just a level of difficulty selection process, I'm talking about just the basic format of the game. It's all well and go...
80s Days Gone By - Merkury Innovations Arcade Handheld

The Merkury Innovations Handheld Arcade (Gameboy like Clone) is a cool bit of tech. It shows how much better off brand/clone tech has gotten, from visual and aesthetic angles to where you can find them sold. This must have done pretty well, as the official site had it listed as sold out. I also attempt to utilize it's "TV out option" on an old television of mine that I set up towards the end of...

Planning ahead is something I have a love/hate relationship with. At the same time I know it's absolutely necessary, I also am completely aware that it can lead to feeling like I'm behind or overwhelmed. Maybe some of that stems from becoming aware of the passage of time, or changes in goals. it might even be from a point of necessity to make sure other more capable goals manage to come to frui...
the Late Night Screen - "the Last Campfire" - Part 2

So many days, I'm glad for video games. I really appreciate the imaginative and creative ways that really well made ones can help ease my stress or anxiety levels. I did about an hour and a half of play in the Last Campfire, and by the time the session was over, I was insanely relaxed. It's always been something I've considered when I realize how as many of us get older, we spend less time just...

One of the things I did this past weekend was go to the traveling convention concept, Collect-A-Con. It was different. This is just the first part of an overview of the show, I'll have two more videos...

80s Days Gone By - Naka-Kon 2024 Show Haul

Naka-Kon 2024 led to me finding and picking up some really wonderful items, three of which specifically ramped up the memories for me. I found Famicon games, some Gashapon, a BluRay, and a fantastic vinyl record set! The only thing I didn't showcase was a small pencil topper figurine of Crayon Shin Chan. He was so small, I accidentally overlooked him, but I'll sneak him into a future video. I'l...

I picked one of these up at FiveBelow, it was worth the money just for the NES Ninja Turtles! Also, happy coincidence... it uses the same battery as the Powkiddy V90, I grabbed a few more just to have the spare batteries and the shells to use for other projects
That’s awesome! I’ll have to check my local FiveBelows as well, the shells are indeed pretty good on them! Thanks for the info on the battery type!
Sweet collection they have there! I was at Tank Fest in Bovington UK a couple weeks back where they have the last remaining fully operational Tiger I which they used to film Fury and they also have the Fury Sherman, was proper awesome!
Oh my God, that is absolutely amazing!
No wonder I slept pretty hardcore the other day, it started while I was already asleep and it was over when I woke up.
Wow I don’t think people realize this is a live video right when the come across it and not just sound. Love it
This was soothing and wonderful. Thanks for posting it, man.
Thanks Mark!
Dude I genuinely love you so much man! These videos are awesome! I just need to quit forgetting to check them out when you post! LOL Hang in there buddy!
Hey you! We miss ya this way! They seem to keep having shows on weekends hubby works, reason we haven't been able to come see you at shows! We should get in contact and chit chat, maybe figure out something =)
It’s all good! I’ve been doing less shows, attending them mainly from time to time. I’ll hopefully have more free time in coming weeks.
Hey, nice to hear you are doing well. Glad you enjoyed making this vid, it was a little hard to follow but it's nice to hear a bit about your process.
Thanks Michael! To be honest, I there are times when I upload these journal vids and I think, man I should have been more on point with how I was talking about things. :D
@@theartisanrogue you are running the show, so I'm just floating this out there, but if you focused on specific topics for a bit and then made one of those youtube video index things that cuts the video into different segments that might make the video a bit more digestible. Just a thought, the key is of course to have fun!
@@michaelplzno those are really good points! That sounds like something I need to implement. To your point, I always lingered on whether or not stream of thought made sense, because especially with the way I tend to process ideas in my head. Thanks man!
@@theartisanrogue you are a cool guy, man, hoping you hit some of these vids out of the park!
Hey Mario! Yeah, I'm with you as to multi-tasking. For me, it doesn't work. Mono-tasking (and switching tasks) is as close as I come. And what you said struck another chord with me: spend time with those you love and let them know you love them. This was hammered home with me when I lost Logan in 2024. You only have so much time with people (and pets) and they are probably a better priority than video games or streams. (in my case)
Mark, dude appreciate that as always! Where I am in life, and who is no longer around in my life has been hitting me hard for a few months. I agree as well that anything else in life really isn't as important as those moments with the ones we care for.
Sooooo Awesome to see this thank you for sharing !! also incase you didn't know you can pull the Buildings up to create larger ones !! Love it have an awesome day !
Oh wow!!!! See I knew there was more to discover! You’re welcome! It’s an awesome concept and exactly what I needed!
I want this 👀
Full version is out now on Steam!
Nice! Looks like a Blade Runner city! Looks awesome!
Right!? This is so much the sort of thing I can just chill out to and enjoy especially on a night when I need to just need to relax my brain.
I hope you had fun! I didn’t go to a lot of the panels, but I went to the concert, idol fest, and the rave! It was so much fun!
Awesome! Yeah it was fun, and I wish I’d had more time to do other things, but the plan next year is to attend all three days. Excited it’s in March. 😄
@@theartisanrogue me too! That means I can cosplay as someone with more layers without the regret and suffering! It also means it’s closer! :D
1:13 hi
Hope you had a great time at NakaKon!

theartisanrogue, Your videos always make me happy, so I subscribed!
Thank you so much for saying that!!!! That means a lot!
Damn I was at the Godzilla panel too. It was pretty packed! I was wondering why I missed ya tabling this time. Had a good time too!
It was great to see that turnout for Godzilla! Glad to hear you had fun!
there's no game :(, I want to play it but it's not in the play store is there a problem with my cellphone? pls tell me I'm really sad :((

I enjoyed this one. My wife loves zoos and every city we travel to and spend any time in, we make time for the zoo. (she's a shutterbug too) We've been to the KC zoo, just last Summer, and I'd go back again.
Thanks Mark! The KC Zoo is just a short drive from where I live, so it's always something I try and get out to as many times as I can in a year. They always have great events, and I have a soft spot for this zoo as I taught art there for a summer some years back. If you're ever in the area out to visit the zoo again, be sure to let me know!
I’m here for the Mr Radar content 🤘
Glad to hear that! :D He's a gem of a cat!
This was very personal, thanks for sharing/recording it for posterity. I haven't gotten into the creative arts professionally, though I was tempted and dabbled, and a bit of why is that creating becomes a job. It becomes a discipline, something you have to do every day. Muse or no muse. All the best professional writers treated writing like a job, not as an art. I have mixed feelings about that but I feel the wisdom of it. As for TikTok...eh, social media is mostly a disease. Social media owned by the Chinese Army is worse than most. Except maybe Facebook. Facebook is probably worse. Thanks again, Mario.
Appreciate the response Mark and thank you for the open and honest reply!
Labyrinth was such a big part of my formative days. I'm envious, congrats man.
Labyrinth is one of those timeless films for me, along with Princess Bride and the original Ghostbuters film that were that way for me as well!
I'm sure there's an audience somewhere Out there for this. I'm saving my money for The Dark Crystal. 😁
Oh man, I get you with that in Dark Crystal! I still can’t believe that Netflix didn’t give us a second season of the tv series!
@@theartisanrogue yes that is disappointing a lot of BS hit the fan back then. BS that interfered with a lot of truly great art being produced
Does the jaw close all the way at the front? Thanks
The front of it has a slight oval opening to it, to fit and better clamp down on bolt/screw heads, but the overall plier head does close evenly.
I think one of the tricks to making these amazing teeth last is not to let them slip on hard screws. On softer metals, it bites so well that it won't slip, and if it did, it won't damage the teeth.
That’s a very good point! That’s something I hadn’t considered.
I really enjoyed this one. I tell ya, every time you do a tool review, I end up wanting/buying new tools. Very cool Mario. Nice job.
Mark, thank you man, that means a lot!!!
I have these scissors and they are amazing. I have a pair of electrician scissors and the Engineers cut better
Awesome!!
As a craftsman that carried Snips not scissors lol Can you cut a penny and still cut wire. Whoops mom’s dressmaker snips? Trouble ….
I left that footage out, but I had filmed some with these cutting metal cans and thicker gauge pretty easily. That said the tin snips and Beverly shears I use are of course more aligned with metal cutting work, but these are a good fit for universal usage. I regret having taken that metal cutting footage out now. 😄

I haven't been to a comic con in ages. This takes me back.
There was about two years, where I didn’t go to any shows, and I really missed them. Even for all the craziness in the fandoms and stuff, being able to be in a place, no matter how big or small the show is, where people have similar interests to me, is just so worth it for me to keep going back.
Let me know if you really are interested in playtesting Captain Blacksword and I'll get you a demo version to play in a month or two ahead of public release. You can do an exclusive if you'd like!
Omg YES!!!! 1000% interested!!!! Thank you!
You're the only person I've seen who has started with the credits. Can't wait to see where this goes!
This was so much fun to play through! You did an amazing job on it and I’m looking forward to your next game!! Got it wishlisted on Steam!
The Engineer Scisscors got thrown on my youtube front page and I clicked on it thinking I'd not watch it whole but I did. Earned a new sub, you got a nice channel man
Thank you so much, that means a lot! I appreciate you watching and subscribing!!!
hello, where can i find the giant fiskar's scissors?
Hey there! You can find them on Amazon and at some Ace Hardware locations. That particular item is named the "FISKARS PowerArc Easy Action Aluminum Tin Snips (13 Inch)", so they TECHNICALLY are tin snips, but are pound for pound the most hilariously over the top art scissors one could use. They cut substrates, papers, tin, leather, all kinds of things with insane ease. They genuinely feel as if in a past life they might have been a short sword or something. :D Hope that helps!
thank you much! i looked on the fiskars page, ebay, and amazon and could not find them , now i know what they are called. i also ordered a pair of the scissors. i am a bit of a tool/gadget user/collector. have a good day.@@theartisanrogue
So awesome! Thanks for watching and commenting!
