@@Seth_ian_john The less restriction the better on a turbo diesel. Turbo spools quicker. Better bottom end because turbo will be spooled up already when going to accelerate. Should put a baffel somewhere in the pipe, it is too loud straight pipe at least I thought so :).

I chicken out towing like 9.5k , more than that I chicken out on my 2005 f350 5.4, is 4x2, I lack the confidence of my other trucks being 4x4 (you know the 4lo is an extra power source ) I get like 10 mpg too, and 12 - 13 unloaded.... My country is really uneven , there's a lot of hills.

@@kidneycancerwarrior6119 yes, if its stuck in gear or reads a fault from the clutch actuator not in the correct position, like if stuck or burned out. Because if the clutch is not functioning properly the car might start while in gear, so it wont start unless depressed or neutral. Model 450, 451 are not automatic. They are still manual transmissions, that are shifted & clutch controled by the computer. More fuel efficient, than traditional automatic trans.

@@manbuilds1587 mines when I go to start all the lights come on like it should but it doesn’t do anything but the sound of the clutch actuator engaging when turning on and off.Do you think is my clutch actuator??

Could be. Make sire in neutral, step on brake. Rock car forward & back a bit to see if will go to neutral. If neutral it should start. Could be starter, could be loose wire.

Yes. If you wanted to, a guy could install a block off plate at any location before the intake. To prevemt exaust gas from entering. The problem is the width of the plate in some locations. If install a plate without a computer reflash & disabling the components the egr will still actuate & the egr cooler will still be suseptible to normal heat stresses.

@@Whats_A_RUclips no sensors on exhaust. This is a smart 450 diesel. 2002-2006

No, wont break engine. On early smart 450 diesel there is no emissions sensors in muffler. Later models smart 451 diesel has a lamda sensor in the exhaust & if not connected it will throw an engine code. Muffler has a catylitic converter in it. After some miles it will plug up. Leaving old plugged up muffler on too long could damage the engine.

Yah but there is a few companies remanufacturing them into reliable equiptment. I didnt have the money to buy a quality machine. Just enough to buy one of these from auction to clear tall grass & trees. I agree, they are very dangerous, this one threw baldes many times. I have tried to upgrade it to a usable state. Alot of people have bought them already. Just trying to help out & make video of struggles. The motors & carriers are goot, this would be an excellent machine if it would quit throwing blades. Currently upgrading it to a different design.

If have a heated under belly. There is a heating duct from the furnace that goes below the floor. That is an acces point also. Could put a mesh over the end of the duct

Because it was going to the scrap yard. Past the point where it is a usable truck or worth to sell it. As well not many would buy it here. It could have been another engine to disappear quietly or I could make a video of a runaway. I have never set a detroit to run away before so I also wanted to try it. This video may spark interest in the next generations.

@oscariturralde1270 The truck was tuned by the previous owner, with components still in place. Except for the dpf was removed & replaced with straight pipe. Later when I had the time & the kit I removed the components to fully delete it. You have to tune it to delete the dpf & egr. When doing the tune delete make sure to unplug the flapper valve on intake horn & the dpf will have to be removed, replaced with a muffler or straight pipe. If no muffled it will be loud.

The truck is more responsive with components removed, maybe spools up quicker because less volume to pressure up in the exhaust manifold with egr cooler removed, or better flow with out the flapper valve. A further improvement will come from removing the grid heater I suspect.

@@Reiginleaf good to go. Smart 450 2002-2006 is not that complicated. The tip can be plugged or worn out, or the driver to open injector can be weak. I never heard about re-coding injectors, I will have to google that tern.

Rubber gets old, most manufactures give there tires a life of 6-10 years, "10 year maximum". Tires on a daily driven auto will get changed out long before then. But on a rv that is in storage most of the year the tires can expire before any real mileage is driven on them. Manufacturers say the characteristics of the tire changes as the rubber ages, gets harder less pliable. I have had old tires blow out when a newer tire would not under same conditions. But those tires where 30 years old. Still, a heavey diesel pusher with tile floors & hard wood cabinetry going down the road at 110km hr. It would be best to not have aging tires on it, regardless of the tread wear. Commercial truck might get put out of service for old tires, an Rv if obviously old & cracked tires you might get a ticket.

clutch is not letting the gears spool freely. could rock it or push in clutch with screw driver to move it.

It's an Icarsoft HD V3.0. It works pretty good for the spartan chassis. Yes, it works with the Smart Car too. Scans heavey trucks & auto's, good low cost scanner.

Yes,it took some time to find a neglected one that was affordable. looked for 1 year, found 3. Everything going up in value, 5 years ago could find these for less.

Smart car weighs under 1800 lbs. only car can tow with out brakes I believe. will have to look in to.

Good. It was 34°c here. I had 4 bubbles on dash & cooling fan was running at every stop. I didnt notice any loss in power. It ran great with out the intercooler.
