Vielen Dank für das tolle Video mit ausführlichen Informationen….🍀 und der sehr angenehmen ruhigen Stimme..😃
I love your cat stickers, they are so CUTE! Btw the adhesive that I use is the Tombow permanent adhesive. It’s like a pen corrector but instead is glue and is powerfully hehe you just need a tiny bit and it works wonders.
I love this videoo!! yu won a new subscriber
Oooh your stickers are gorgeous!! I love your Weeks content!! ♥️
Aw thank you so much! That's so sweet of you.
Loved this video! I got really excited when I saw there was a new video of yours online!! 😍
Aw, thanks! I am so glad you enjoyed this video! I have been really enjoying watching and listening to relaxing JWM videos, but then when you film them yourself, it's easy to question wether or not it's relaxing or boring :D So thank you for your kind feedback.
I loved this video! I pretty much wear the same all black outfit every day and just change my shoes/boots and chunky necklaces.
Thank you so much, that's encouraging to hear :) I think having a go-to outfit and changing out the accessories and shoes is a very efficient way to get dressed. That probably makes packing for trips super simple as well.
so cute n cozy. enjoyed watching yer pages Maike<3
Thanks so much Suzi :) That's sweet of you to say!
This was great to just relax with, I did some planning myself and was so calm and content while listening to you and checking in on your gorgeous drawings every now and then 🤗
Oh that's so great! Makes me so happy to know that you enjoyed the video and got some planning done. Thank you so much for your kind comment!
thank you for todays video and for your channel in general. you’ve created such a whimsical, inspiring little space that i know i can always return to. also, i love the ‘drawing the washi tape’ idea.
Aw, thank you so much! I'm really touched by your kind comment! I'm glad my channel feels like a positive and safe space to you.
Loved this! I really enjoy the cute fashion drawings and their style. I’ve picked up some Moleskines based on Seaweed Kisses’ theories and will run some experiments hahaha
So glad you enjoyed the video! I have been so tempted myself to order a Moleskine. I'd be curious to hear what you find out!
I put a cello tape around my tombow, right around the pen where the colour number is. That way the tape protects the number from rubbing off and I can still see it through the tape. 😊
That's a great tip! I'm gonna do that with the ones that are still legible. Thank you for sharing!
Hey!! What thin sticker paper did you use for your photo collage on march 14th? ( 11:11 in the video)
That is the Clear Matte sticker paper from OnlineLabels. They have it for both inkjet and laser printers. Hope this helps!
I really enjoyed this video and also 'palettendrek' will stay with me for a long time, such a good word!
So glad you enjoyed the video! I must say that though I had fun filming this, afterwards I felt a little unsure... I guess there is a fine line between "relaxing" and "boring", hehe. Really appreciate your feedback!
Really enjoyed today’s video. I found it calming and so interesting. Yes, I would like more videos with this kind of creative content. I found it real and down-to-earth.
Oh thank you! So glad to hear you enjoyed this! That's really encouraging to hear. I'll definitely film more, as I enjoyed the process as well :)
Lovely to have some relaxing journal time - I agree! I am not used to drawing with an audience, and even recording it gives me the nerves, lol! I also think it's hard to have a good setup to record the right angle, so thank you for taking the time and effort to do this! I think your characters are so cute - also they are looking at each other! It's amazing how adding a bit of color really makes the illustrations pop too! Also an interesting topic to consider personal style. I have tried many times to document outfits and do some wardrobe overhauls, but still end up being a bit all over the place currently. I also work from home or just doing school runs, so rarely dress up... I find myself too lazy to think about it on a day to day basis, so then it just becomes basic like jeans and a sweater.
So glad you enjoyed this video, Linda! I would definitely consider myself a "line person" in that I really enjoy line art, both the making as well as the look of it. But every time I decide to add a bit of color, I like how much more alive it all looks :) Personal style is fascinating to me. But I try to not stress about it or see it as a must. Most days I am content with a sweater and jeans :)
@ I have realized that sometimes it’s hard to even objectively think about if I truly like something or am I being influenced and judging with someone else’s eyes - in outfits like what someone my age ‘should’ look like or in art or other parts of life too. Interesting to think about 🤔 because of course our preferences have been formed by our environment and experiences… hmmm what is authenticity!?!?
Ah yes, that is indeed really tricky. And I think we can be influenced to like something or buy something, but the opposite is true as well in that we can be influenced to stop liking something. I guess that is similiar to what you brought up in regards to dressing "age-appropriate". And I agree that that applies not only to fashion, but all kinds of things... even journaling.
Congrats on your stickers, Maike! They’re gorgeous!
Thank you so much Erin, that means a lot to me!
I’m so glad that prompt was helpful! I’m going to be talking a good bit more on that topic because it’s so meaningful to me. 😊
I think the journaling I did based on this prompt has been one of the most helpful I've done all year! I really appreciate how thoughtful your prompts always are!
cute drawing style :)
Thank you :)
Thank you for sharing all your lovely journals! I love your character, Hattie! She may be for your illustrated book that you've mentioned, but I think it would be so fantastic if some of your brainstorm characters show up in some of your Collage Club as friends or "supporting characters" 😻 They are so charming! I love the anthropomorphic (sp?) friends stories like Frog & Toad! It reminds me of reading with my kids when they were young ❤ And i can relate with your love of fabrics. I cannot sew, but fabrics and feeling the textures and patterns definitely satisfies some sort of artsy, creative side in me as well!
You're the best Aileen! Your comment warms my heart. And it makes me so happy that you love Hattie! And yes, I am working on a comic for kids with her as the main character...at least that's the plan :) And I'll see if I can get some of those cuties to join the cats :) Books like Frog & Toad are totally my jam!
Can you please share the link/account of that poem from instagram? It sounds so lovely ❤️
It's so lovely! I added the link to the poem to the description box :)
Oh my gosh! I had no idea that you lived in the Bluegrass region (at least I'm kind of assuming you do since you mentioned natural bridge.) I grew up in Eastern Kentucky in a little town about an hour away from Lexington. I spent a lot of time in Richmond too as a teenager. I straight up thought you lived in Germany! hehe. Have you tried Ale-8 One yet? It's a popular local soft drink in the area. Some people love it, some hate it! I personally really love it, it's like a super strong ginger ale - and they do lovely seasonal flavors like Blackberry or Peach. It's funny, that soda feels like home to me, and one day I was on a road trip and I happened to pass by a lady who had a tattoo of an Ale-8 One Soda bottle and it made me homesick! Haha.
Yes, I've been living in the Bluegrass for about 4 years now. My husband is from here. And I love Ale 8 - so refreshing! I think I've tried their cherry flavor, but have yet to give the peach or blackberry a go, though that's sounds yummy too! A tattoo of an Ale 8, now that's a superfan right there :D But yeah, I can totally relate to random things one encounters making one homesick.
I'm anxious to print these, but when I click on the link for November, it brings me to the October pages...? I have to add that I have a severe cat allergy, so have never been a "cat person", but your cats are so cute and they remind me of childhood books, so I just had to subscribe! And I reach for your stickers more than others. : )
Oh no, I'm so sorry! The link should be fixed now. Thank you for making me aware of this! And oh my goodness, that is so sweet of you to say! I do love children's books so much, they are such a source of comfort. So the fact that the cats remind you of them means a lot to me! Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful pages!
Thank you so much! :)
Where were you all this time 😭❤️
Aw, you're so sweet! Glad this video resonated with you! Your comment actually made me realize that I haven't done a doodle tutorial in a while, so stay tuned for more :)
Beautiful journals ❤ enjoyed watching :) I love how your weeks looks and like the idea of using the back pages for extra journaling if need to. Its a lovely size to carry around xx
Thank you so much Stephanie! The Weeks just feel so lovely and comforting to hold.
I love your pages so much and you always inspire me to be more creative in my journaling!! All your fall walks and pictures are gorgeous too!!
Aw thank you so much Elyse! You're so sweet! That's so incredibly encouraging to hear!
Such beautiful designs, my cup of tea😍 I tried to subscribe, but there is no option for PayPal🥹
Thank you, so glad you like them! Unfortunately my website host doesn't offer subscriptions with paypal. However, I do have a workaround with a couple subscribers that pay via paypal, who get their collage sheets sent to them vial email. If you're interested, send me an email or a message on instagram (link and email are in the description box).
So cute! I will get good use out of the work from home kitties. : )
Thank you! So happy to hear you like them! :) Let me know if there is any other variation of work from home kitties that would be fun to have :)
I absolutely love this months!!!! 🎉❤ everything is perfect I can’t wait to use them! I can never ever have enough coffee, books, planner, wfh illustrations ❤️🔥🥰😁😁😁😁😁
Thank you so much Elyse, so happy to hear this! I'm right there with you on the books, planners and the likes :) Enjoy!
Sooo lovely! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! Glad you like them :)
Hi!😊 These are so sweet and adorable! I love the cozy fall colors! I enjoy getting to see your designs, they’re so wonderful!! Thank you so much and I hope you get to enjoy a cozy, beautiful November!!❤
Thank you so much Rachel! I really appreciate your kind words, they are very uplifting :)
They are super cute. I downloaded the freebie and I have a question. If I were to subscribe are the stickers the same? What I mean is do I have to cut them out by hand?
Thank you Anita! Yes, the printables are set up the same way as the freebie is, so you would have to cut them yourself. I do upload the printables as both pdf and as a png with transparent background, which I have heard makes it easier to use with a cutting machine. Let me know if you have more questions :)
@ oh ok. Thank you. Yes PNG should be good with cutting machines. Let me try it.
As always, they are so adorable! Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much Michele! 'm delighted to hear that! :)
Don't know how I found you but so glad I did!😻These are adorable!
Aw, thank you! So glad you're here :)
Thanks for that I had ordered mine and glad you are happy because I should be too ❤
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do! They really did a nice job with that cover.
Hi Maike!😊 This was such an enjoyable video! I love listening to you talk about stationery and I usually learn something new too! Your delfonics pouch is so pretty and wow does it hold a lot! It’s such a shame those little scissors aren’t better for cutting, they’re so pretty! I wish I had a recommendation for good precise cutting scissors, I have one pair that was gifted to me so many years ago and the others I use aren’t necessarily that great but they do the job😅 I use the big Elmer’s glue stick and it works well for me, I have glue pens from stationery pal that work nice for precise gluing and I’ve heard really good things about scotch glue sticks but I haven’t used them myself. I hope you find some scissors and glue that fit your needs!☺️ I think a sticky pocket in your sticker book for Stickii (and other) sheets sounds like a great idea! I just spent some time today putting stickers in my reusable book and it was such a cozy activity! That’s so cool that a weeks fits in your pen pouch! Thank you so much, I had such a lovely time watching this video! I hope you’re enjoying a beautiful weekend!❤
Thank you so much Rachel, I really appreciate your kind words! So glad to hear you enjoyed the video. I ended up getting myself scissors by Tim Holtz. They arrived today and so far they feel comfortable and like a definite improvement over the others. And yes, putting stickers in a sticker book is a super cozy activity, i fully agree! Hope you are doing well!
For me collecting stickers is just part of the journaling hobby. I may or may not use what I have, but just having them brings me joy. I love to look through them to find just the right one for what I'm working on in a particular day. Or sometimes I just put down a random sticker because I'm tired of looking at it want it out of my stash! We all journal differently and use our creativity in different ways. And what makes sense one day may not the next. I think as a community we tend to go a bit in cycles. Maike, your artwork is adorable and it always makes me so happy to look at. You keep doing what you do and don't give thought to what the opinions of others are. Years from now when you look back at your journals you will find joy in the creative pieces you have in there and the memories it will bring back. How boring to look at a journal with only text!
Thank you Kathy for your thoughtful comment! It's interesting that you bring up that as a community we tend to go in cycles. I think that has validity to it... feels true anyway. I guess we see that in fashion or interior design too, how it swings from minimalism to maximalism and back. Nothing is ever the right answer for everyone, at all times. Most things have seasons to them, don't they.
Hi Maike, lovely video and thanks for talking about some of your daily supplies. I loved the dedicated stickers release book for your own art stickers - so many beautiful creations - it almost feels like you should create a permanent catalogue of them with dates so could see your creations grow with your artistic skills. I can highly recommend the Tim Holtz scissors, I hesitated/delayed at first as they are pricy but I live with a neurological disease so my hands experience cramping and fatigue - I also need to use wider barrel pens for the same reason - I find fountain pens easier to write with - less hand fatigue than with gel or rollerball pens. I also wanted to point out that I have the same A7 Kraft grid notebook but I took the spiral binder off to remove some of the pages and keep the loose sheets in the Kraft folder of my TC Passport TN. - less weight and bulk to have out. - my hands cannot lift too much weight these days. Thank you again for sharing about our favourite supplies. 🙏🏽🫶🏽🥰 Varsha.
Thank you Varsha for your lovely comment! Yeah, I do need to figure out a way to chronicle my illustrations. Maybe for the time being I could look into setting up a binder. That way I could combine traditional art and print outs. And thank you for your recommendation of the Tim Holty scissors. I got myself a pair. They arrived today and so far they seem comfortable and a definite improvement over my old ones.
ok, I"m a self-proclaimed "cat lady" as my kids are now adults so we have cats lol. Do these printables come with cut lines so I can use a silhouette or do I have to cut them myself? I love this so much!
Aw that’s precious! How many furry kids do you have ? I do upload the printable as pngs with transparent background, if that helps. I know that some cutting machines can generate cutlines automatically, but I don’t have experience with that personally.
@@MaikeOatley I’ll play with the freebie and see what I can do. I’m not great at it either lol. I have five cattos. Oldest are two sisters that are brown/white tabbies and are 7. A five year old orange boy. And an orange female that’s 3 and an all black female that’s 3. The babies are both bat-shi* crazy in their own ways lol but we love them all!!! 🥰
I use and love the Tim Holtz 5" scissors. They self sharpen and the handles are so comfy I can cut for ages without pain!
That's very helpful to know! I think I'm gonna get those.
Delfonics is my go to stationery bag.😍 My scissors for detail cutting is my Cutter Bee precision scissors from the 90s. My handles are peeling from use and age. Cutter Bee scissors are still available and are labeled as “same as original” but not sure if they are the same? The Tim Holtz tonic studio 5 inch scissors are on my wishlist. I prefer Fiskars brand and they go on sale sometimes at Hobby Lobby. A pocket for stickers 👍🏼 is such a good idea. Neat to learn that the regular Hobonichi weeks fits in the Galen leather pen pouch (it’s going on my wishlist). I’m surprised that Tombow hasn’t come out with minis, that would be awesome! I see some people using the Kokuyo Gloo glue stick but I haven’t tried it yet. I currently have the Coccoina glue stick, I like the almond scent but the glue seems melty and too soft sometimes. A lot of great stuff in this video. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏼
I ended up opting for the Tim Holtz scissors. So far they've been comfortable and a definite improvement to my old ones. Maybe we need to write Tombow and let them know that we'd be very interested in mini markers :) I've heard of the Coccoina glue stick, but never realized that they smell like almond, that sounds lovely!
Hi! What is the black fountain pen? It's lovely.
That's the Pilot Custom Heritage 912. I have it in the soft medium fine. The soft means it has a bit of give in the nib, which I enjoy for drawing, but it's not a true flex nib. Let me know if you have more questions about it :)
@@MaikeOatley Thank you, Maike. : )
