Pain Lies on the Riverside - Beaver St Chickens Cover
Cover of Live’s Pain Lies on the Riverside from a backyard bbq back in October of 2020 I think. I believe this was roughly a year after I got back into playing bass after a 15 year break. A little rusty for sure but passable.

Thanks! Just adds a bit more fullness with the octaves added I think. I do that to a lot of songs. Especially if it’s only a three piece band and you need the bass to fill out the sound a bit in some parts.

Would have been criminal if Ian Thornley had joined Velvet Revolver and NOT played guitar. CRIMINAL.
I recently found out about that. That would’ve been a travesty. I am always trying to get people on the Big Wreck train. Always saying Ian is the best guitar player you’ve never heard of. They’re all world class musicians, especially Dave, but Ian’s a monster.
A fantasy? Ian could front Soundgarden, he could sing Chris Cornell's parts both vocal and guitar. He even looks a bit like him.
@@larsetom1 Soundgarden was a great band, but I enjoy the stuff Ian makes WAY more. That's not to insult SG in any way, shape, or form. I just prefer what he's doing with his guys.
@@Merglet Like I said, it's a fantasy. It is a vanishingly small the number of people who could do justice to Chris Cornell's music, especially as a singer. Ian could pull it off easily. He even sounds like Chris Cornell.

If you can listen to the CBC podcast where they do this song with acoustic (and other songs) and be blown away. This was years and years ago. Some of the best vocals you will ever hear.

Hey, glad you like it. This is all of the usable footage basically. Most of it is me behind cover, and I didn't change the camera location so it's a lot of the same thing. It was a good day. Our team lost most games but I held my own most of the day. My best game was the castle, 4 kills and I didn't get shot. Thanks for reffing.
