🌨️ Solo Mountain Camp: Chasing Storms, Warm Fires, and Teriyaki Chicken 🏔️
Welcome to the BosqueeNet Adventure! 🌲🏔️
This solo overnight camp brought stunning mountain views and the anticipation of a rain-and-snow storm that decided to arrive fashionably late. I kept the experience simple and cozy with a Mountain House Teriyaki Chicken dinner and a warm crackling campfire to end the evening. The storm finally caught up with me as I made my way out of the canyon the next morning, adding a dramatic touch to an otherwise peaceful trip.
Join me as I soak in the serene beauty of the mountains, savor a delicious campfire meal, and embrace the calm before the storm. If you're into solo adventures, camping simplicity, and scenic landscapes, you're in for a treat. Don’t for...

Snow Backpacking Adventure: Father & Son Bonding
I only have one short film of my hammock in torrential rain; might just have to upload it, some thing I don't normally do.
You goofball! Wishing for wind and rain! LOL!!! I get it though. I had to test out my Backwoods Bungalow too. Nice video brother, God bless!
If I had a truck like yours, I might well have a roof tent. Another great adventure.
That is my plan. Still doing research on what one I want to buy. Any recommendations?
@@bosqueenet If you look at "Kent survival" he has many videos with roof tents. You may find one of interest.
Last weekend 22nd to 25th, torrential rain, gale force winds; twice in the night tying down my tarp as it was ripped up. Both frightening and exciting; don't really want to do it again lol. Enjoyed your video, keep 'em coming.
WOW what an adventure! It is always a bummer when equipment gets damaged. Definitely an adventure you will remember though.
Looks like you two had some great fun out there!! You asked about treats...Rusty and I were on a kick where we ate a roasted marshmallow in between 2 fudge striped cookies. Makes for super clean and easy s'mores:) Btw we also LOVE to have fires when it's not even cold enough lol. Sometimes Rusty makes us a little (what we call) smoke fire!
Mandie would agree with you on the fudge striped cookies, that is her favorite. My favorite is gram crackers and a peanut butter cup s'more.
@bosqueenet Oh yum! We never tried that!
Thanks cobba
No worries
Cool enough review, and I found humor conspiring you were actually low key "Riley Poole," sharing his passion of sharing specs lol. Who lol? Actor Justin Bartha is his real name, and he played Riley, Nick Cage's sidekick in the National Treasure movies. ✌😊🤙
oh Yeah, I know Rilley. I love those movies. This is a first for me though, being compared to him... I'll take it.
Not a hammock guy but I still enjoy your videos... thanks! God bless, Frank
I appreciate that, Frank, I hope you enjoy!
I tried some Tigris gear for my Malinois Search & Rescue dog. It didn't last two weeks. Typical Chinese manufacture. 👎👎
Bummer... What did you go with instead?
Thanks cobba
No Problem!
Retro camp cooking; every prepper should have one of those stoves. It was you got me onto "hobnob" dunking. Sure it's only a one ton Moose with 5-7 feet of razor sharp blades lol.
I collect stoves... I don't know why, but I want to get the 2 burner version of this stove. I think I have a problem. First step is admitting it right?
@@bosqueenet Nothing wrong with collecting stoves; they are so useful! No, I don't think you need worry lol.
Just got the TC version of this tent.
How do you like it?
Honest review ❤️❤️❤️
Glad you liked it... let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you for the long term review.
You bet! I am glad it was helpful.
Tent ...SEA tO SUMMIT ?
The brown one is the OneTigris Backwoods Bungalow, and the green one is the Naturehike Mongar 2
Good honest review, thanks.
No problem 👍
Thanks for making this video, I felt relaxed and chilled watching you from here in the UK, keep the adventures coming. What is your thermometer?
Thanks for joining me! Here is a link to the Thermometer... it is just a freezer thermometer I got on amazon. amzn.to/3OiO4Ik. Stay tuned, many more adventures yet to come!
So nice! Thank you and God bless.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed the video!
OK... I have to ask about the name "DevilDog68", how did you come up with that?
@ - I’m a Marine (Devil Dog) and I enlisted in 1968. You can Google Devil Dog for the history. 😉
That is what I thought... just wanted to make sure. Thanks for your service!
Thanks!
Thank you for Joining me!
Stove details? It doesn't look like the ones listed in your gear list. Looks more high end.
This is the stove... amzn.to/4hUiq18, I took it off my list, as I have been having issues with it.
Very cool looking location buddy, and a nice set up. Very similar to one I'm thinking about for moto camping
It is a decent tent, I just got back from a "first snow fall" camp last night, There was a lot of condensation in the tent. Nice to have the awning though.
Spectacular views. I've not tested my 1Tigris without a tarp I'm sure it's only shower proof. A cot gives full ground space for storage, a must. Thanks for sharing.
Spectacular views for sure! A cot really does make a difference for gear storage and comfort. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts
Love cold weather camping, no bugs and no crowds.
I have not done too good of job shaking the crowds this year, but I am still having fun!
Woot woot for finding red barrel.
Paige has all the good luck!
Just took my son out for his first Rocky Mountain overnight. Great experience for us both.
That sounds incredible! There’s nothing like experiencing the Rockies, especially for a first overnight adventure with your son. I’m sure it was memorable for both of you-those moments out there are priceless! Any favorite highlights from the trip?
@bosqueenet Trail was about three miles one way (7KM) and had just over 2000 feet elevation gain in under two miles (3KM). Wind was wild at 20-30 MPH and gusts at 40-60 MPH. Making walking a bit difficult on the exposed slope. Fire went through the park a few years ago and trees were dropping all night. On the way out we had probably a dozen or so spots where the trail was blocked by multiple downed trees (on the way up only two or three). Met a couple on our way out and they were surprised we stayed the night. He wanted some "war stories" so I think this gave him a couple. I have had him out in other areas like open prairie in Saskatchewan or -40 in Manitoba but this was his first Rocky Mountain adventure, just wish we had more time in that area.
Wow, that sounds intense! Between the winds, elevation gain, and falling trees, you definitely earned some great ‘war stories.’ What an awesome introduction to the Rockies for your son-sounds like a trip neither of you will forget!
Thank you for the review it is very helpful. Looking for a good budget sleep pad (have to get one for each person in the household).
You bet! I have been very impressed with this pad.
Thanks for making the video.
I hope you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching!
@bosqueenet Looking into getting a cold weather sleeping pad, what is the coldest you took your Obsidian?
In my preview video, it got down to 1 degree Fahrenheit (-17 c). So yes, it can handle the cold weather. This weekend I will be filming my final thoughts and review of this pad, so look for it in the coming weeks. I will say this though, I have begun to use an electric pump to mostly fill the pad, but you will need to use the included pump sack to top it off. As long as you have it inflated properly, It should do you well in the cold weather. I have owned it for almost a year now, and it has held up well.
@bosqueenet Thanks, watching the preview right now. Also new subscriber.
Great video new sub it’s so cool to get out in nature
Hey, Thanks for joining the Bosqueenet Adventure!
A Hammock defeats all rocks and roots. Great camp, an open fire is a must and a Moose to boot; that was magic!
Yes, it was certainly Magic! I tend to sleep better in the hammock than I do on the sleeping pad on the ground. Yes, the fire is a must!
Hypnotic scenery, water looked clear enough to drink. Spectacular night sky. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for joining us on our Adventure. We had an amazing time!
A twig from non toxic Tree makes a good fork. I'm going to try Brussels now lol.
I just had to laugh at the situation, usually I am better prepared. Hope you enjoy the Brussels.
It's great to see you keep exploring new locations with Rattan Sequoia!
Yes, it has been a lot of fun!
I just use an inflatable mattress, it helps to lay flat. Beautiful scenery.
Thanks for the tip... I was thinking about getting a more "lay flat" hammock to facilitate the pad. Is that what you have, or do you have a regular hammock like me?
@@bosqueenet Hi, I have a regular Hammock, a mattress will lay flat in it, if you have a "DD hammock" there is a double layer to accommodate a mattress!
Perfect, I will have to check it out. Thanks!
Where can we get this? It’s not available on Amazon anymore
Looks to be discontinued

This might be the best set up yet!! Love the cozy lights, canopy, and fire! Great shots of your site from afar...and great shots of the starry sky!
Very comfy setup! Loved every moment of it.
Beautiful setting; glad I'm not the only one trying to peg hard ground lol.
Yes, it is truly a favorite place of mine to visit. The ground here is already beginning to freeze, so looks like it is only going to get harder to get the pegs in the ground. :)
Very well
Thanks
❤❤❤
I am glad you love it!
Finally a camping adventure! 🤣 What a great video! We definitely missed your camping videos! Looks like you are getting to enjoy the best of both worlds in this video, camping and biking! What a perfect campsite! We love rivers, forest, and mountains. Man the night laps was amazing. We really love the night sky too! One early dark morning, I was on my way to the truck and looked up and saw a Star Link satellite going by. Have you ever seen one? Man! I didn't have a clue what I was looking at. I thought for sure it was alien action or the government. They're cool! There's a satellite website that shows the schedule where you can go out and see a Starlink go overhead at your location. By the way, what state/mountain range were you camping in? We can't wait to go camping, we're definitely ready for the cool down here in Oklahoma. It's been in the upper 90's-100's and nights have been in the upper 80s. Looking forward to your next camping adventure! Till next time! Press on! 👍
Sorry it took me a while to get a reply back to you... off having adventures.... Yep Glad to be back to camping, especially now that the weather has cooled down... well perhaps too quick of a cool down... Monday night it snowed at the spot I was in for this video, Unfortunately I was not able to camp that night, that would have been cool to have a Snow in September video... oh well. Yes, We have see the star link trails, they are so cool! I remember thinking the same thing the first time we saw it, truly out of this world! Stay tuned, Many more camping videos yet to come!
Jeff, I love the night sky shots. Your adventures bring back memories of my younger years. My latest passion is panning for gold. Friends bring me buckets of sand from local streams. I also have gold bearing sands from a stamp mill at a local museum. All I can say is that it is a fun hobby. But don't make it your life's work.
Dual batteries?! That's awesome to see!
Certainly going to get a lot of range out of this bike with the dual batteries.
Woohoo, I love it, do you have any deals to offer?
Yes, I have added a coupon code in the description JS150.
I have the exact same ebike and it's really nice!
I hope it is treating you well... have you had any issues with it?
I have the VIVI FOLDING E BIKE Battery 🔋 is small and goes on the handle bars where can I get a new Battery
I will have to check that one out.
Bike looks good
It is a tank.
I know about the sweat factor and Building something
It has been a good ride... not without it quarks though. Stay tuned, I am doing a whole series with this ebike, including taking it on a few camping adventures. It is a work horse bike.
That’s a unique name…Bos queen net ? Don’t want to know what it means. I can guess 😳
Bosque is "Forest" in spanish...However I do take the "Boss Queen" (Mandie) along with me on my adventures.
My Rattan lasted 60miles. The motor gave out. The service was terrible, I sent them a video of the problem. They said fix it yourself, they sent a vid of how to change the motor. The vid was different from the bike. I cancelled it from my credit card. Be warned !!!!!! Even sending it back was a nightmare.
Wow, Thats not good. I hope I do not run into the same issue. Everything has been good so far. I have been able to take it out on some long, and sometime very bumpy rids. Fingers cross that she holds together. I did have an issue with the pedals (Bad Bearings), The customer service quickly sent out a new pair. Not sure if I would want to swap out the motor though.
Jeff, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? Thanks
5'8", 180lbs
I was camping next to you. Glad to find your videos, glad you had fun❤️🔥
We love the rock hounding there, and we always seem to have luck on our side when it comes to finding the gems. Hope you were just as successful!
