Character Modeling Stream - 12 hours in 6 minutes!
I started streaming on Twitch last week. This character took a total of about 12 hours. I learned a lot about grooming as well as why working in-pose for a piece like this was a bad idea.
The pixelation about halfway through is obscuring my webcam feed. I don't mind showing my face but since this video is sped up about 10,000x there's no benefit to it and I just look silly.
I would like to stream on RUclips instead of Twitch. Let me know if you would be interested in watching in the comments.
I used Blender 3.0 and ZBrush to make this.

Quick Tip: Rigging Eyes in Blender with Rigify
Просмотров 17 тыс.4 года назад
Rigging eyes using Rigify is not very intuitive. You have to search for the bones to parent them to and they are initially hidden. In this quick tip I will show you where to find those bones and how to bind your model's eyes to them.
Quick Tip: Weight Painting in Blender When Using Rigify
Просмотров 44 тыс.4 года назад
Just a quick tip on how to set up for weight painting when you have are using Rigify. Took me a minute to figure out that the deformation bones are on a single layer that gets hidden by default. Check out Todor over at CGDive on RUclips. Everything I talk about in this video I learned from him. His Rigify tutorial series is absolutely brilliant and you need to buy it right now on Artstation. Facial Rigging Made Easy with Blender and Rigify

Another rigify video to again show how powerful and easy to use this tool really is. Links to the two extra rigify tools shown briefly in the video: Cessen's Rigify Extensions - github.com/cessen/cessen_rigify_ext Experimental Rigs by Alexander Gavrilov - github.com/angavrilov/angavrilov-rigs I make no claims regarding the functionality or reliability of these tools. They add some extra samples...
Super Fast and Easy Rigging in Blender with Rigify

Important edit to this video description. I wish I could change the video but I neglected to give proper credit to Todor over at CGDive on RUclips. Everything I talk about in this video I learned from him. His Rigify tutorial series is absolutely brilliant and you need to buy it right now on Artstation. The mesh I used is his creation as well and I thank him for letting me use it in my video. I...
Animation Series #3: Bouncing Ball and Obstacles
Просмотров 5644 года назад
I have seen variations on this over the years. Learned more about timing and spacing but messed up the squash and stretch. I mention Ian Hubert in the video. He is awesome. You definitely want to check him out. ruclips.net/channel/UCbmxZRQk-X0p-TOxd6PEYJA www.patreon.com/IanHubert
Animation Series #2: The Pendulum

Second in my learning animation series. The pendulum taught me more about timing and spacing as well as how to use to graph editor to adjust timing and limit the amount of keyframes which makes editing your animation easier. No commentary this time. Just a timelapse.
Animation Series #1: The Bouncing Ball
Просмотров 1864 года назад
I have tried to learn character animation for years and years with lots of frustration and no success. I am going to make a concentrated effort by starting at the beginning and working my way up. To that end I am starting with the task that just about every student starts with. The bouncing ball. Leave your comments about other animations you would like to see me take on. Remember I am starting...

Yet another robot from that cool vector drawing of some robots. This is the last one for now. Again using Blender with the fantastic addon SpeedFlow - gumroad.com/l/speedflow I am not receiving any compensation for saying this but I LOVE modeling with SpeedFlow.

Creating Bendy Bones in Blender 2.80

I cannot find the layers in the Object Data Properties section and can't enable layer 29 because of this. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks!
thank you so much mate
The best tutorial ever! Tried with 2 other tuts and didn't worked, haha
BLESS YA
Thank you so much
thanks
Thank you
Simple exact and beneficial. thank u
Note: as of blender 4.0+, it's now ctrl+shift+click to select bone in weight paint mode, not ctrl+click
man u saved me
thank you for this!
now you need to make visible "DEF" in Data -> Bone Collections of your rig
THANK YOU. I HAVE WASTED DAYS ON THISSSSSSSSSSS. YAAAAAAAARRHHH.
@@Myself........ np bro
You´re a legend man! THANK YOU!
my man, 6 years later. And saving my ass
Hello, Do the eyes have to have they're pivot point in individual origins and their origins in the center of each of them? this worked for me but the eyes bulge out of the head when I move the controls
YOURE A LIFE SAVER
5 years later and who knows how many versions later but this still works!
Thank you so much!
you are a legend! this was exactly what i needed
I did this and they still are messed up this way
I cant see the layers ): Please help me
Never mind I found them
@@The_Founder16 I'm having the same issue, how did you end up finding the layers?
@@benjamincavanagh6234 in the newer blender versions the layers are not visualized the same way as the video here. There is a list of bone layers and you go to the armature properties I belive it was (a green stickman icon). And then there is a list with the names of the bone layers and an eye icon to toggle their visibility
OMG sooo helpful!!! Can't believe I keep having to refer to tutorials that are 3, 4, 5 and even SIX years old! Thank goodness you old timers bothered to record these tutes for us :) This solved days of stressful ignorance!
Hey, we're in the 2024, does Blender improved this? I can't believe that with CTRL+B for bevel we don't have an extra button to push to avoid proprtional bevels.
2:16 my blender dont show the ''skeleton'' layers squares, it show only pose, bone collections, motion parts, viewport, inverse kinematics, custom properties
bro i applied scale but still when i select boundary loops and I bevel the loop bevel are even on some sides and stretched on other sides...
Check the scale of the object under Item -> Transform. If X, Y, and Z are not set to 1.000 then the apply didn't work.
@@GetGoodwithVince yeah I applied that, but still nothing …
Huge help!
Quick, easy and ESSENTIAL tip. Thanks for saving me a headache (Also this is still the same fix in Blender 4.0, if there are any recent viewers such as myself).
고개를 돌릴 때 계속 눈이 빠져나가는 오류가 있었는데, 본 영상 덕분에 잘 해결했습니다. 감사합니다! U r my life saver!!
Thank you so much, Exact thing i was looking for ☺
thank you for this
😆👍
This helped me so much- thank you!
Mannnnn you earned my like, could not figure out for the life of me why my bevels were uneven whew
great video, thank youuu
Thank You !!
Thank you, i figure it out at 0:29 how dumb i am. lol
OMG this is lifesaver!
i needed this thank you!
This was extremely useful, thank you very much
If anybody is confused how to select both the eyes and bones at the same time, go to Edit > Lock Object Modes and disable that. Then select the armature in pose mode. Then go back to your eye mesh in object mode, select it FIRST, then select the eye bone you need.
Quick and to the point, thanks mate!
You're a life saver, Thank you for sharing this ✨
thank you! I probably watched this three times, tried other things, then came back to this...I'd gone down all sorts of rabbit holes joining my eyes to my body etc...now is this going to be something similar for mouth and teeth?
ThankYou
thank u
I owe you one, I couldn't remember how it was it, thanks
"Super Fast and Easy" 25 minutes Im not watching this
Thanks a lot man!
This is the trick!
Thanks bud, my rig did not like the hair and the teeth, still I can't find the teeth bones, but that's alright I just gave the bottom one to the jaw and the top one to the head
