Id put a roller on the bottom edge to help in rolling!
Did this all the time on dirt bike tires, run majority of cuts perpendicular to the direction of travel for best bite and lots of drive/forward momentum edges, then a few cuts parallel to the direction of travel for edges to prevent lateral/sideways slipping. Always used a tire groover, or "knobby knife", but I never thought of the twin cutter. Sounded dangerous at first but looks like you had good control. I just put wheel spacers and RV antifreeze tire ballast, and ran chains last winter, but wondering if I can get thru Montana winter by grooving and not putting the chains on. We will see! Good video, thanks for making it, subscribed.
Guess what honey we’re having fresh deer for breakfast.
Please, what grinder wheel was that? It cut very fast!
Here kitty kitty, I got something for you!!!
😱😱😱
Deer is dead meat
Deer ran off. So did the cougar.
I have noticed that when you weld you do a lot of pulling, however if you were to push as to pull you will get a better & stronger result.
Thank you for the input. I struggle with push welding for some reason. But I will definitely try to do more and get better at it. Have a great day.
Nice job and video. Please reduce the volume of the music in the editing.
Ah, very nice-a mustache!
Haha 😂. Thanks 👍🏻
Nice work on the farm! Glad to see the progress.
Thank you very much! Lots of different projects going on keeping me busy, but it felt good to work on the Cat again. Brush canopy is next!
I just received damn near the same stove for free. A guy was throwing it away and I rescued it from the scrap yard. I don't know if you know this, but they also have 3" Legs on the bottom. The legs resemble the kind that come on a porcelain bathtub. Thank you for your video. I learned a ton and i'm now going to restore mine. The only thing mine is missing is the ashbox, plate handle & the 5/8 rods on the side. I'm going to use a railroad spike as the plate handle and fabricate a spring on the back. Thank you again for your video
That is fantastic! Glad you were able to save it from going to scrap. I hate to see good things thrown away. I did not know about the legs. That would put the cooktop at a more comfortable height for me. I will definitely look into it. Glad you enjoyed the video. Send some pictures of your stove when you restore it. Have a great day.
the metal looks a bit flimsy for a decent size log
So far it has handled about a 24" pine. My saw only cuts up to 30" so I'm not moving huge logs. It was leftover used steel I had on hand from building my sawmill trailer so I made it work. Square tubing would have been my choice if I was buying material to build it. But so far so good.
Good job nice welds I’ll be watching you 👀
Is that it ????😂
Great job!!
Thank you very much !
Great stove and good work as always 👌
✅Великолепно 🙂👍🍑🥥🍇
Have you thought about swing out out rigger’s
Hi Jeff. The straight down jacks have been working well so far. If I do more mobile milling offsite on uneven terrain I thought about adding extensions to them for a little bit more stability.
Do it the opposite way you put the log on the trailer.
great idea. I was going to buy a regrover. Thanks
Mount a pulley on the arch, going back towards winch , anchored to trailer to reduce effort on winch, great rig. Look into snatch blocks for when you can't get close.
That's a great idea!! Thank you.
Don’t give up on us overhear you give good examples or you explain well
Nice job! Note at 4:45 if you want to straighten a warped length of steel, heat a pie shaped wedge on the side that needs to be shorter to a red hot and let cool. Do as meany times and locations as needed because this will tend to straighten it.
Thank you for the tip!! I'll give it a try.
Whoa!! Those cats r fast
On my off-road rig/crawler I run my tires backwards for more bite, I think your tractor would definitely benefit from swapping the tires from one side to the other.
That is a great idea. I will definitely give that a try this winter. Thank you.
A shelf
Великолепно 👍
Where is this? It looks like the typical California hills covered in manzanita.
Now that’s a great idea
Good Lord, i thought it was attacking a person.
It was.
@@vettevegasit was a deer
Why not use a truck bed crane on the side of the trailer?
Main reason is capacity. Some logs are thousands of pounds. Plus it would put all the weight on one side of the trailer and be harder to remove when not using the trailer for logs.
It did very well!
Jason Thank you for the shot of my cabin. You have my vote for the snow blower I think others would be supportive of tht too..don
Thanks Don!! Have a great day
A short section of angled kick near the pivot could allow resting the arch on the deck.
I was thinking the same thing!
Great project
Thank you!
Consider mounting a full width roller on the back edge of the trailer.
That is a good idea! Thanks you
Being a retired Navy family this would be AWESOME to have a piece of history as a root cellar.....great find and repurpose....Bravo Zulu
Great drone shot of the tree falling
Thank you. I'm going to try to use the drone more in the future.
Oh, and it is great to see someone who isn't afraid of a traditional mustache.
Haha!! Thanks
Hi! Really enjoyed the video. I have fought that battle more than once, and yes, the cut never comes out straight. I thought your Jeep was a goner when that log split. Anyway, you make some great videos. Good camera work, excellent story lines, professional grade editing. I'm sold. I subscribed. Stop by sometime and say hi. Anyway, may you have a glorious week!
Thank so much. Really appreciate the input. Still learning how to best use the cameras, so much easier to just go to work. Have a great day.
The music junked another video 👎👎👎👎👎💩💩💩💩😬😬😬
Good idea. The Forestry Forum has been showing those builds for the last 20 years. Originally shown by a logger in Florida. Good video.
Can you send meth measurements o the building of your trailer
Hi Gary. It's 35 inches wide and 21 feet long. I used the width and length of the tracks to go off of. The channel iron I used was 3.5 x 2 inches and works but square tube would be more rigid. Hope that helps! Take care.
Nice job I do a lot of the same stuff cool beans God bless
Nice job godbless
That is almost too easy when you think of the hours of hard work its going to save you on rocks in logs and getting loaded off of site... good for you sir.
That was one of my biggest motivations for building it. Keeping the dirt and rocks out of the bark to make the blades last longer. Glad you enjoyed the build.
Great Job Brother!!!! I have been wanting to make a logging arch - already have the 12k Warn winch. Love the way you made it!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much! I appreciate it.
So whats gonna happen when you strap a real big log on there and pull it up where it tips over? Since the arch doesnt completely fold over wont it. Snap it or crumple it ?
I only plan on lifting 24" or so max logs as that's about all I can handle with my tractor to load on the mill. With a long enough choker chain the log will rest on the back of the trailer before the log arch stops its downward movement. Another viewer suggested putting the clevis pivots vertical, which would allow full range of motion for the arch. Great idea that I'll try next time.
You need to volume level your vids eq.. normalize it in studio.. is good that its lowered -8.1db but in turn that causes things like your intro to be super loud then talking all low until you make any noise on the video like grinding then viewers are constantly turning volume up and down the whole time.. you can really tell when you transition from talking to the music youve added.. that kind of video editing with the volumes overlooked bugs the shit outta me.. but other than that you do a good job vlogging projects..
I use Movavi Studio software and am struggling to normalize the audio. I have to adjust each clip manually, no auto feature that I've found yet. I'm new to this editing and still working on it. Does RUclips studio have an auto equalizer feature?
