This is NOT a paid advertisement. I paid for this with my own money. If your power steering rack/rack and pinion is leaking and you just need a temporary fix, then this can quite possibly be it! Blue Devil Power Steering Stop Leak. This has slowed the leak down to a barely noticeable seep. It has lasted for about 6 months until now. Not bad for a fix in a bottle.

I didn’t keep that line long. Before I had any issues with it, I changed it out for a brass/copper line. I had it for years before I sold the truck. By the way, I live in Florida…so HOT
thanks for the reply
Option 5 is factory right hand drive whether that be imported or built for mail use
Yeah…I forgot to mention that
You just got this installed?
I did, yes. The pedal kit was an easy install. I’ll be putting out a video shortly on it. This is the vehicle I will be using for my route.
Thank you for your service!!!
Thank you! I try to do my part
I'm just trying to process how this is even legal. Aren't postal workers borderline government workers? I didn't know they went the amazon route....

Yep
If you’re working for the post office, they should be providing the vehicle and the fuel. $19-$28/hr is not worth it.

Might want to get one of those steps that attach the door hinge for getting up to the box easily!
Ha! That is one downside to having a roof top cargo box. Thankfully, the Scion xB isn’t that tall
I have same color love it . 19 inch wheels with basss 🤣
The purple has definitely grown on me. I call it the “Purple Nurple” or “Nerpie” for short
@mailmanmechanic lol
But how much mpg after the roof wind scoop you just installed?
I haven’t installed it yet but will by this weekend. There might be a slight amount of net loss but shouldn’t be that much if even negligible. My average speed on the route is about 14 mph. I had the same roof box on my Kia Sedona and there was no difference in mpg loss due to the average slow speed. By the way, I’m averaging approximately 22 mpg while on the route compared to about 7 mpg in the Caravan.
I have used one on my xb and effect on mpg was negligible. Remember the xb is already as aerodynamic as a brick!
🤣so true

Not trying to be a smart ass here... and no one else has said it.... So I have to say it... IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO BE WORKING AROUND AN OPEN CONTAINER OF GASOLINE! I bet most people watching this already know what can happen but shouldn't there be a special warning for doing this fuel pump change-out? For that one guy who doesn't realize the dangers. Respectfully.
I’ll add a warning line to the description. I would hope that anyone brave enough to do this job would be highly aware that gasoline goes BOOM! However, you are absolutely right. Thank you

I wonder if the engine got hot at some point. The big flaw in the 1nzfe motor is the water pump. The hot temperature indicator light is hard to notice in certain lighting conditions, and the motor will still run when it's screaming hot. I always thought that a temperature gauge is a good idea on any vehicle.
It did get really hot. The previous owner lent it out to a family member who crashed and then proceeded to drive it till it overheated causing the head gasket to blow. This, the head gasket replacement and head job at the machine shop
I use water
That’s a way to find a vacuum leak as well. Thanks for watching
Hi thanks for sharing! great information! I hope it fixes your problems! new sub here! Was this before you found the vvt issue? thx
Yes it was. I have been trying to narrow it down to finally get to the main issue. The engine is running the best it has ever since I’ve had the vehicle, but it does have some low compression due to ring wear. So it’s the best is gonna get unless I rebuild it. Just gonna drive it, the way it is, and even so it is quite fun. Thank you for subscribing and even sending me a message. May the Lord bless you
I have the same symptoms on my 2000 740i, i was thinking maybe injectors or throttle body, but now I think vvt solenoids could be it, trying to save money for them now, I have 2! ugh! Thanks for sharing this, great content! I hope all your vehicles stay running for a long time! 🤩👍👍
HA! Me too! It will be better for you all if I constantly have issues though, so I can make more videos. Hopefully, the VVT solenoids do it for you. Sometimes it can be the fuel injectors, but that is as much more easier to diagnose with a very good computer.
Thanks for sharing,i have a similar vibration on my 1zz fe engine. Most of the parts are changed, could it be the vvti actuator? No codes similar vibration before you changed the vvti solonoid
Could be. Mine never actually produced a vvt code till after I unplugged it. I wanted to see if it was getting any voltage. My engine is running MUCH smoother now since I replaced that solenoid however, it is a high mileage engine with fairly low compression compared to factory specs. The first gen xB engine has a flaw in which the compression chambers weren’t completely round. Over time, compression would decrease and some oil burn would occur. Have you checked for vacuum leaks as well as replaced the spark plugs?
@mailmanmechanic thank you for the rpl. Next is the compression test, and yes, I have new spark plugs and new coils
Thanks for watching
Thank you .thank you and i am very very thank you for sharing helpful video clip.thank you.
You are MOST definitely welcome! Thank you for watching and sending that encouragement!
Have you looked for a vacuum hose off of one of its fittings, it sounds like a vacuum leak to me.
I did look for a vacuum leak before this issue and found a couple. “Rough idle? Vacuum leak!” ruclips.net/video/Ms3LompAhzo/видео.html This issue happened suddenly
Since that bad solenoid is out, it would be interesting to try to test how it moves by putting 12 volts on and off the connector and watching if it gets stuck.
I’ll try that. I still have the old one. I had the new one when I recorded that video but I’ll make another explaining the testing of it. Thanks for watching
The computers are very smart but they can be tricked and throw you off. I just bought an autel oscilloscope and trying to learn it. You almost have to have it nowadays. That and a programming scanner and laptop and tons of subscriptions, ugh! It never ends lol.
I know, right! Just think…this 2004 is considered “old” and just a basic car. It seems a lot of these new cars are basically a computer on wheels
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Great demonstration
Thank you! Glad you think so
Need a scanner for a reset?
For the brakes…no. Not on the 02-07 Town and Country. Is that what you are asking?
@@mailmanmechanic yes. I understand that modern vehicles need scanner to inform the ECU of something or other 🤦♂️
Yea, your right. Thankfully that year and model doesn’t
Well buddy you mess up the reason the top spring was so easy to put on is cause you put it on the wrong hole on the right side.. hope you caught it and redo it..
I sure did a few days later. Thanks for pointing that out!
Be careful that the hose clamp om the left doesn't wear a hole in that hose next to it.
Will do!

PROTECT THE XB!!!! nah jk but stay safe fellow Florida man 🙏
Thanks @FranzJx I hope you are clear from it too. The xB…she’s good 😊
Great video i hve same problem rough cold start every morning recently getting worse and worse- thanks
Glad to help. I hope this helps you resolve the rough idle. Thank you for commenting!
I dont recommend this method because (1) the spray? Is Flammable and (2) even if you get close to where the leak is? The engines RPM will rise up ! Do too the lack of Oxygen in the air ,I have always used just a cup of water so u can pinpoint where the leak is without faults Results and its safe no worry about catching things on fire . Note: when you use water? You can hear the water being sucked in the vacuum leak causing the engines RPM to lower or even die that's when you know you hit the right spot. 😊
Great info on an alternative way to search for a vacuum leak. Thank you for commenting.

May I ask what a conditional job offer is? I’m looking to apply and trying to learn as much as possible before pulling the trigger and submitting
@@quentinwilliams5786 if you apply, a conditional job offer is pending the background check which can take awhile.
I applied in 2006. I wasn’t hired till the summer of 2007. It can definitely take a while to get hired.
this is a master class how not to remove 14 mm caliper bolts unless you would like to strip it and doing a dr Frankenstein backing up the emergency parking brakes. watch the car carenut guy for reference and other season mechanics i did a job on 2019 rav4 similar to this car same setup, you mess up that electronic parking brake can be expensive.
I’ve updated the description to state “when the service mode doesn’t work.” Thank you for your comment
My ac condenser on my xb had a small hole in it from a rock when I got the car. When I put in the new condenser I added some black plastic gutter mesh attached behind the bumper to prevent it from happening again, so far so good.
That’s a pretty good idea!

You’re very welcome 😊.
I just picked up a 2002. Mine is exactly like yours. Brakes were rusted up. Warning though bottom metal brace piece would not seat correctly against my metal of shoe next to bottom of emergency brake. My guess is there could be a design flaw in shoes. This kept the drum from going on
Overall, my 2004 has been a good one. The drum last quite a long time. The shoes can be aggravating depending on how they were made. One thing I’ve learned is that there were like 3 different sizes of shoes. It all depended on the size tire, year, and drum size. Thank you for watching and commenting
I read about this, it is for Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth which has four models left in all, not Jeep. Frank B. Rhodes, Jr. the great-grandson of Walter P. Chrysler, made the offer. I think it is a long shot at best because I am not sure Stellantis executives want to sell the divisions that are selling the best for them (Alfa Romero and Fiat sales have collapsed as they sold on 12,843 cars and 605). These are tiny numbers for Stellantis as it cannot sell its European brands at all in the USA). In comparison, Dodge sold 199,448 vehicles which was its worst performance since 1996. Chrysler with its one model outsold all of the Eruopean brands in the USA with 112,713. Plymouth no longer exists. If Stellantis sells these two remaining divisions they will only have Jeep to sell cars.
Thanks for the info. I stand corrected.
