I visited Bansensō, a historic cliff house with a breathtaking Japanese garden from 100 years ago. It was built by local brothers who missed their hometown and its quiet Ōzu landscape in Ehime

I loved the silky dark hot spring at the Yōrō Valley. On the way there from Tokyo, I found the site of a monastery-nunnery pair from the 8th century near the transfer station, Goi. The fancy eight pillared gate used to stand in front of the monastery. The nunnery was quite fancy (It’s the largest kind among those excavated in Japan)!
