One of the big problems I had with this show (other (than the watering down of/elimination of "relevant/subtext-oriented material) was the bland production design and falt-ish lighting. Shows like OUTER LIMITS demonstrated how powerful dynamic compositions, imaginative lighting and set design could tremendously boost esch story's power. NIGHT GALLERY was kind of "wimpy" visually. Im just speaking in generalities, as there WERE some episodes that were well-done in that regard (in my opinion/if that even matters! ha) but, over all the show was a bit too meh for me. It might have been better if it had been an early 60's show where things were a bit more experimental, visually.

Without question, Ms. Warren is a beautiful woman, even today. But if you think vampires are sexy, I fear you have been buying into mid- and late-30th century movie hype. Read Stoker's novel "Dracula" and note his descriptions of the Count, especially when Harker comes upon him in his box. Not alluring at all.

I hope she stops by this video every now and then to check comments. Fans still regard her well and wish for her speedy recovery. I've got a portrait of her ( sort of - Girl With The Hungry Eyes ) at home. I've made my whole house up as "Disneyland for cats" meaning each room is themed to a Disneyland "land" ( Frontierland, Adventureland, etc. ) but the caveat is that there's themed cat ramps and cat furniture in each room. When it comes to the "New Orleans Square" room I shared the Haunted Mansion section of it with Rod Serling's "Twilight Zone Tower of Terror" since there's a Disney precedent for that as well. ( TOT isn't in New Orleans Square, but it's spooky stuff so as far as I'm concerned, it applies. ) That Rod Serling reference bled over into my love for Night Gallery so when it came time to put framed portraits on the wall, a couple of Night Gallery ones made it. Joanna's "Girl With the Hungry Eyes" was printed out on metal to give it that extra ethereal shine to it. It's easily my favorite picture in the room, and that's saying a lot since the second favorite picture was the one that took the most work. An LCD monitor ( made to look like a framed painting ) that rotates 10 images of The Cemetery from the Roddy McDowell episode, creating the illusion of Roddy's uncle rising from the grave, followed by Roddy. All other animated Haunted Mansion lenticulars are nice, but not as cool as Joanna's image and The Cemetery. Much thanks to her and I hope her shoulder is doing better. I'm not too far from the desert it happened in and know what it's like to be that far from civilization. You always worry nothing will happen that needs an ambulance.

Of course, Joanna Pettet, Night Gallery's femme fatale, also played a kind of vampire in The Girl with the Hungry Eyes, and she was gorgeous in her own right. But Warren was so very sexy as Hyacinth. I liked her on Mission, but her character wasn't really used to the best potential on the show. Her role on Night Gallery showed there was more to her than the ingenue she came across as on Mission. Hyacinth may have been the first female vampire you truly had sympathy for, and that was all her. Thank you for posting this!
