I wouldn't call this forced feeding. Majority of newborns fall asleep while feeding. This is completely normal for them to eat this way. I've raised 3 and all of mine did this especially when breast feeding. They tend to sleep constantly at this age and if they're not gaining weight properly then you really have to feed them on a schedule every 2 to 3 hrs so this tends to happen. What mom should be doing though is trying too wake baby so he finishes feeding, not just holding the bottle there and letting stay him sleep. She should be removing his clothing, tickling his feet, changing his position, etc. This is one of the first things they teach you in the hospital after you give birth if they keep falling asleep during feedings. I was never a fan of the removing of the clothing suggestion though. The idea was that they'll feel cold and uncomfortable so less likely to sleep. Usually removing the bottle/breast, their position or tickling them worked fine enough.

@@Xessa82if you watched the video from the beginning, the kid didn’t want the bottle, it was already asleep, its mother forced the bottle into its mouth, so no, the kid didn’t want the bottle and she is force feeding for a video.

@@Xessa82newborns fall asleep while feeding but you don’t take an asleep newborn and shove a bottle in its mouth and hold it there while they continue to try and sleep. You know very good and well the difference. We all newborns fall asleep especially while on the breast but that isn’t the situation we have here at all. When baby is hungry he will wake up and you’ll see all hungry baby cues and if you miss them baby will start to vet and then scream. This baby had absolutely no interest in the bottle and started to fuss when he was awoken towards the end. The only reason the baby ate was because he was too tired to put a fight and if he didn’t swallow he would have choked. You think it’s completely normal to wake up a sleeping baby who isn’t exhibiting any hungry cues and shove a bottle in their mouth and hold it there while they continue trying to sleep….and doing it while the baby is lying flat on his back? You feed your baby while they’re flat on their back? If that’s perfectly normal to you I hope you don’t have any more children because you obviously don’t understand what a baby wants and needs it you think an asleep infant needs to have a bottle shoved in its mouth while lying flat on its back. Baby is asleep so not showing any hunger cues, this was done to film content for a RUclips video.
