Tilly Two is the name of our latest tandem. On this channel we will be posting our travels on Tilly. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed riding them. Come along for the ride!!
The Tilly Two take on the Annual Gower Bike Ride August 2024
It was touch and go whether this eagerly awaited event would take place this year but the fabulous Kids Cancer Charity had stepped up to the mark and taken the organisation for this annual event.
There was a choice of 2 rides, the family 12 mile ride and the longer 35 mile ride around the Gower.
As this is a fairly local ride for us, we cycled to the start at Secrets on the Swansea Bay foreshore and also cycled home after the event adding a further 15 miles to out total making nearly 50 miles in all.
There were several local businesses supporting the event this year -

July 2024 we returned to Gargrave near Skipton, where we purchased our Tilly from JDTandems last year and retraced the trip we cycled to Malham. A Walk Along Pembrey Coast 2024

Father's Day 2024 fell on June 16th this year. Summer has begun (joke) and on a rare sunny but windy day, we took a stroll along Pembrey beach from the Lifeguard Station towards Burry Port. It was a lovely walk which was capped off by seeing some young fox cubs on the way through the Country Park.

Thank you SO much!! I know it shows our journey to the actual event and back again, but it was the 1st ride we'd done with our young Grandson ( though he did the family route with his dad). Looking forward to this year's event on 11th August! If you see us, come and say Hi, it's great to put faces to comments 😊
There are some right arseholes driving, I drive and cycle, but the standards of some of the drivers leaves a hell of a lot to be desired
Retractable dog leads are a pain in the arse
We've done the Taff Trail twice now but have to go back and do the Merthyr to Brecon stretch again because 'someone' (ahem) deleted all the video footage, oops!!🥴 We're pretty new to all this filming and editing lark but we're slowly improving. We've got a mini drone now too so are hoping to get more interesting footage. The route back from Brecon down the Swansea valley will be posted once we've got the Taff Trail part 2 posted. It was a really great run. Check out the video Cows audition for MooTube, it's one of our favourite local rides but is a lot more personal. Good luck on your ride.
great video, have done up to taffs well on a road bike twice, but going to do at least to merthyr tomorrow (on an ebike ok I know, but its more fun haha). Excellent to see what I've got to look forward to. I'm just on the steps bit now, what a pishtake! Well done for dragging the bike and trailer up there!

Ah, in the car dealership we passed. I'm pretty sure they are in one of our other videos. It's hard to know how much to include sometimes, it doesn't help when batteries run out either 🤣 Looking forward to the next ride out!
Fabulous flyover, the colourful hues of the trees are magnificent, the birdsong superb and the view of the walled garden is wonderful. An excellent short video.
Can I just say this is not a good road for cyclists, being one myself, there is no shoulder on the road for safety, that said wow you are lucky to be alive what a crazy driver.
That would have been terrifying.
