Propane Line Nightmare!
Просмотров 475Месяц назад
A propane line was left hanging off a deck after some work was done to the deck by others. This was an urgent job as this was dangerous. Also in this video is an example of how an inspection doesn’t mean something was done properly, but I corrected that.

In a word, Journey is magnificent. He paid so much attention to every detail and made things "right". We highly recommend him!
@@rhondapicard2257 thank you for this wonderful review Rhonda 🙏
Nice work! I'm unable to find any supplier for 5 Super Single tires/rims, anywhere I look; they are either none responsive, or have none in stock. Located in 43235 USA.
Did you contact Tony at Fuso Off Road in Canada?
@ yes I did. He only has 3 available, and I need 5 :)
@ Wheels Now Inc can make you a custom set. Or perhaps buy Tony’s three and have two custom ones made to match. Otherwise… Import 5 from Australia
@ that’s a great idea! I’ll connect with these guys, unless you can point me directly to someone there. Whom would you recommend I talk to, in case I go with the option of importing from Australia? Thanks again, your help is highly appreciated!!!
Great job 👍

were you buy the wheels? and ce to be 4x4 and do you lift the truck??
@@erickramos1901 FusoOffRoad Yes, it’s lifted
Speak up. I’m in a loud shop😂.
Wow! I guess you need a bigger truck
Or… a lighter truck. Almost 16,000 lbs there and 4,000 on that tire
How is the drive in the fuso? I have an older one and the thing drives like a model t ford lol
😂 upgraded suspension Big tires Rides smooth Without that, I’m sure the Model T rides smoother 😂
The truck looks 500% times better with the new tyres 👍
Thanks!
And it rides better too
I love free roadside campsites like this.
Me too
p.s. my super singles are 19.5 rims
What tires were you able to put on and where are you located? I think that in the USA, the 19.5” rims limit you to one tire
I think you are right about the limitation on tires. I liked the tires that were on it when I boughtit so I just went with the same tires when I replaced them recently which are the "Toyo M608Z". Good wear, traction, handling etc..
@@MMOverlandAdventures what’s the weight rating on those? What does your rig weigh?

Well, that doesn't look like fun. Good healing wishes!
Not fun, but I was looking forward to getting this done now, rather than in the summer. This way, my recovery time is spent driving cross country and I should be good to go by Spring
Hard to hear you over the welding noise. FYI, but I’m definitely curious to see how this mount works

can you provide more detail on needed lug nuts for rear. my super single are shipping out today
Not sure who you bought them from, but I was supplied with the proper nuts when I bought the rims
Great job, Larry!
Thank you 🙏
Nice work!
Thanks 🙏
Interior?
Would a good impact gun work on the lug nuts?
Maybe? Especially if Anti-seize is used, but better to have a torque multiplier on hand
I thought when the outside temp goes down to 10 degrees that's what the engine is for - to drive the truck somewhere the temps are reasonable!
That’s the future plan.
Looks well balanced , hopefully you won't have to take the habitat on/off alot ✌
Only on jobs where I’ll be there for a month or more.
Nice ✌@@TheItinerantCraftsman
I know some people don’t like to talk money. But for me it’s where rational lives. Weather or no something is far away or close and what could be squeezable. What is your investment at at this point? Or broken into pieces. Truck rough truck upgrades deck and boxes habitat shell. Interior components. Etc. It sure does add up.
I just want to say every thing is really looking top shelf!
It’s beyond where I expected. Initial budget was $90k USD. I’m well over that now and the finish line isn’t in sight. It’s why I’m putting the interior on hold for a year. I need to get back to work and refill the piggy bank.
Looking good!
Thank you Amrita 🙏
Does 37" front wheel touched the flare fender or not after installing ? is it require to lift the car or it is ok with stock height ? My Fuso is 4x4 as well ,thanks
On this video, the flares are not installed yet and it did not touch them. Once weight got on the truck and before the lift, I did start getting contact on hard - full lock - turns If using 37’s, definitely go for the flares and the lift.
Thanks for your reply ,how many inches require ? I searched online but it is very hard to find them online.

No access to the cab? Not good on those cold, wet, snowy days or if in place with wild animals and you need to move back and forth in the dark.
I have two cab access points, they are called doors🤣 Funny thing is, I’ve been living in a vehicle since 2018 and before that, a kayak. I never had to worry about “wild animals “, or cold, wet, snowy days. I mean, I literally have to get out of the truck to fill it up. How long have you been traveling in yours? By the way…these aren’t vans. Any idea of how big a pass through is? Any idea how easy it is to crawl through one? I did it in my 20’s but I ain’t 20 no more.
@@TheItinerantCraftsman I am sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your little feelings. And yes, I am familiar with pass throughs and some are thought out better than others and some are easier to use and are situated better than others.
@@ExtrovertedCenobite No hurt feelings… just curious as to your experience using a pass through. They transmit a lot of road noise, are difficult to maintain a good seal, are hardly ever used…except in a big rain storm and interfere with the design. If you look at my rig, you’ll notice a giant tool box that would have been eliminated just to have a pass through. The pass through was eliminated during the first stage of design.
@@TheItinerantCraftsman I have owned a camper van and a C Class RV up till 6 months ago, looking at an expedition vehicle and I do like the pass through for many reasons. On of the better passthroughs is a youtuber JOURNEYMAN who has a double door entry and a raised cab making it quite easy to move from the living area to the cab. Well thought out and convenient to use.
@@ExtrovertedCenobite it was a hard sell for me to give up the pass through. Especially since I hate being out in the rain unless it’s a hot summer day. But ultimately, it had more downside than up for me. I know many others who spent a lot of money to make it happen
Can’t wait to see it all built! I love the dimmable lights
Thanks I’m excited too, but the build won’t start for a while. Yes, dimmable and warm were important to me to create a comfortable atmosphere
The entrance into the shower is a great way to rinse off as you come in. Are you leaving it open to the toilet area ? So it will be a wet bath or will be the toilet closed off? Thanks for sharing your build and journey. 👍💪🛠 📺
Yes, a wet bath and yes to the rinse off area. Doing g construction work on the road; a way to get clean before going into my home was important. It’s a concept I got directly from Tony Scott.
Great build, looking forward to further videos of your project. I’m in the build process on my truck
It’s fun and frustrating and fun 😂
The same way I built mine. Did all my drawings in cad, then taped the entire camper out in the loungeroom and spent weeks walking around in the area seeing what would and wouldn't work I built mine myself from scratch which saved a lot of money, but it was a lot of work, especially laminating the panels which were approx 3.2m x 2.2m
I would have loved to do more myself, but I’ve already been living on the road out of a van for four years and just on the road ( no van) for 7 years now. So no shop
I do CAD ( Cardboard aided Design) I’m hoping to learn CAD more this coming year though
@TheItinerantCraftsman CAD is pretty handy, but you still don't get a feel for the dimensions. The software I use is crazy expensive but it gave me finished weights etc as well
Congratulations 🌟 Thanks for sharing 👍 So true about planning it all out first.📺🎬💪🛠
Thanks for watching
I'm grateful that I got to be part of your 2023 experience... we made some great memories! xox
Definitely a highlight for me too.
I follow Bruce's build as well. Did you have your front end aligned after these tires, are you putting new spring on? With or without the alignment are you seeing heavy tire wear on the front? I'm hoping new spring to replace my 2004 springs will help in this, also does it shimmy much with these tires on?
There was a complete suspension upgrade and then I had the front end aligned
That is a great video. We (Snorkel) will definitely be putting it up on our new website. While watching it I temporarily forgot that you were not the average homeowner putting all that together and was quite amazed at the planning and execution. Even for a professional, it was impressive.
Thank you for the compliment.
If you have a trailer brake controller, i used to have 1 with a trigger on the side that would adjust the amount of brake pressure on the trailer brakes only. When things got squirly I would trigger the trailer brakes only with that squezeable trigger and that would pull things straight. Worked very well many times when i felt a jacknife coming on.
I was using a Blue Ox system amzn.to/47ZiW8z and while it does have a wireless remote, it wasn’t as easy as when I run a dedicated electric brake controller. That said, you are correct. In fact, that’s what I did for the rest of the 2,000 mile cross country trip and subsequent snow storms. However, this incident totally caught me off guard because of how focused I was on the rapidly deteriorating conditions, both inside and outside the cab.
Nice. Thnks for sharing this. I have a 2 wheel drive I have wanted to do this 2 for years.
You’re welcome No reason it can’t be done in a RWD, especially if you stay on road
Hey Wonder of Wander, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) :) Cheers, Felix

Woah! WTF happened? Hit some black ice? You got lucky you didn't go back out in traffic Larry.😅
I did go back out in traffic! Look at part one I was attempting to pull off at a designated spot until the snow stopped. Despite slowing way down, as soon as I exited the highway, the back tires broke loose and the toed jackknifed me. There were dozens of accidents before and after this location that day
I am thinking of building something similar so that I can live in it I am enjoying your video's. are you planning to do any suspension upgrades to make it even better offroad?
Thank you. I’ll be living out of this rig full time very soon. The suspension was upgraded which also lifted it about 4”. It was provided by Fuso Off Road out of Canada and imported from Australia
